SAVED BY THE LYCAN KING (Elisa)

Chapter 10

ALPHA JACKSON'S POV

The next morning, I got dressed in my finest attire and gathered my convoy. We headed to the Lycan King's residence. I was determined to set things straight.

When we arrived, the guards informed us that the King was busy and asked us to wait. I gritted my teeth, but nodded. We took our seats outside. I couldn't believe the Lycan King would make me wait. He might be in a higher rank than I was but this was my pack. He should show me some respect, at least.

The hours began to drag. Each hour, I asked the guards to let me in but they refused. I kept my anger in check, not wanting to cause a scene. Nobody in his right mind would want issues with the Lycan King. Still, I was losing my patience. After four long hours, my patience was wearing thin.

I felt humiliated, sitting there like a fool or like an afterthought. Just as I was about to demand an update again, I heard whispers around me. "A beautiful woman came in the other day and the King actually met her," one guard murmured.

"I think it was Luna Elise. She probably came to beg the King not to grant her a divorce from our Alpha," another added.

My blood boiled at the sound of their words. I couldn't believe my ears. This couldn't be possible. Elisa had gone behind my back to see the King? I stood up instantly. Without a word, I stormed out of the palace. I needed to confront Elisa. This war between us had to end.noveldrama

On my way home, the words that I heard from the guards played over and over in my mind again. I couldn't focus on anything else. How the hell did Elise see the Lycan King?

Nobody had seen his face till now. How come she was able to have an audience with him? That little bitch. She probably seduced him or sold him a pity story. I wouldn't put it past her.

Gina might be right somehow. Could they have something romantic going out? I doubted it.

The ball was the first time the Lycan King was coming to my pack. They couldn't have met each other before that, right? My mind was clouded with feelings of fury and betrayal as the driver took me home. I couldn't believe it. My heart was pounding so loudly in my chest that I could hear it. Elise-how could she betray me like this?

The thought of her meeting with the Lycan King sent waves of rage crashing through me. More importantly, why did I care so much? As soon as I pulled up to the palace, I took out my phone and called my private investigator - Jonas.

He answered on the second ring. "Find out if Elise met with the Lycan King yesterday," I barked into the phone.

"Yes, Alpha Jackson," he responded promptly. I entered the palace. The guards and maids passing by bowed and greeted as I passed but I answered no one. I was filled with so much anger that my whole body was trembling.

I entered the grand hall of the palace. I paced up and down, deep in thought. I thought of what Elise must have discussed with the Lycan King. Did she manage to sway him to her side? Did she tell him about the divorce? Elise was playing games with me. I wouldn't let her get away with this.

No matter what it took, I would destroy her. I am king. Nobody messes with me! My phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out to see who it was. It was the investigator.

"Do you have updates?" I asked him.

"Yes, i do. It's true, Alpha. She did meet with the Lycan King." I gripped the phone tighter.

"Do you know what they talked about?"

"Unfortunately, no. But my sources tell me the king seemed quite taken with her." He was taken with her? How?

I didn't even know she attended the ball. I looked for her everywhere. Where on earth did they meet each other?

Elise was smart, smarter than I expected. I'll give her that. She had probably been planning this for a long time. The phone call ended with my blood boiling hotter than ever. I was so mad that I three my phone at a wall.

"Fuck!" I screamed. Elise had gone

behind my back, accepting an

invitation from, the Lycan King

without telling me. The betrayal I felt was too much to bear. I stormed through the palace halls. My body shook with annoyance as searched for Elise.

On my way to the other side of the palace, I came across Gina. She sashayed towards me with a smile on her face. She had on a revealing red dress and heels.

"Jackson, darling," she purred, trying to wrap her arms around me. "You're home." I brushed her aside with annoyance.

"Not now, Gina. Where's Elise? I need to deal with her once and for all." Her smile faltered, and she stepped back.

"Why are you looking for her?" she asked me. "I have my reasons. Do you know where she is or not?"

"I think i saw her heading to the garden a little while ago." I moved past her without another word. As I walked down the hallway, I saw a palace maid.

"Where is Elise?" I demanded. The maid's eyes widened in terror. "I saw her in the garden, Alpha."

I didn't waste another second. I turned back and made my way outside towards the garden.

Finally, I spotted her near a stone wall with her back turned to me. The sight of her made me even more annoyed. Without thinking, I rushed at her.

My vision was narrowed to the single goal of making her pay. I grabbed her roughly, pinning her against the cold stone wall. My hand wrapped around her throat, squeezing tightly.

She gasped and struggled against me. "Jackson, stop!" Elise said as her hands clawed at me.

But I couldn't stop. I didn't want to. The need to punish her was overwhelming. I tightened my grip, watching the panic in her eyes.

"Why did you meet with him?" I hissed through clenched teeth.

She couldn't

answer. Her breaths

came in desperate, choked gasps. Gina appeared. I could see a smirk on her face as she watched us. She mademo move to help. She took a seat nearby, crossing her legs elegantly as if enjoying a private show. After struggling for a while, Elise managed to scratch at my

eyes.

I winced, cursing as pain seared through my vision. She took the opportunity to break free from me. I blinked away the pain, facing her again. I saw red as I pursued her. She ran away from me till she reached another wall.

Now, she was cornered, trapped against a dead end. She turned to face me, her eyes wide with fear. "Please, Jackson," she pleaded, her voice trembling.

"You don't understand-"

"Shut up, you bitch!" I roared, moving closer to jer. "You tried to blind me!" I brought out my claws.

I really wanted to hurt her. I raised

my arm, ready to strike her down. Elise closed her eyes, bracing for the impact. But the blow never came. A strong hand gripped my wrist, stopping me mid-strike. I whirled around, furious, to see who dared to

intervene. Who the hell could it be?
