Chapter 215 Congratulations on Winning the Bid
I took the coffee from Eric and followed his hand to the small table between us. It was stacked with a variety of breakfast foods.
Seeing the look of appreciation in my eyes, Eric chuckled. "Hurry up and eat. We're not far from the bidding venue. If you don't finish before we get there, you'll be in trouble."
I caught the mischievous smile at the corner of his mouth. Grabbing a bite of breakfast, I patted my chest and reassured him, saying, "Don't worry. I'll finish it all before we arrive."
However, I miscalculated. Eric had prepared far too much. Even if I hadn't eaten for three days, I still wouldn't be able to finish it all.
I raised my hands in surrender. "I can't finish it. I can't."
Unknowingly, my voice had a bit of a teasing tone as I added, "You really went overboard with the amount of food."
Eric looked innocent. "I just thought you'd want to try a little bit of everything, so I had it all prepared."
I pouted, struggling to chew the last bite. "Next time, you don't need to prepare so much. A quarter of this is plenty."
Eric laughed helplessly, shaking his head. "Do you plan on doing the same thing again? If this happens again, I'll pull you out of bed early."
Just after he said that, Eric suddenly realized that might have sounded a bit off, so he glanced at me cautiously.
My heart raced, but I pretended not to notice. I looked out the window as if nothing happened.
After a moment, I finally responded, "Alright."
The rest of the ride was silent. The car quickly pulled up to the venue for the bidding event.
As soon as I got out of the car, I saw Jeremiah stepping out of his car as well.
Seeing Eric and me, Jeremiah scoffed and rolled his eyes as if we were beneath him. His expression oozed arrogance. It looked like he was confident that he was going to win the bid this time.
Eric and I exchanged a glance but ignored Jeremiah's provocation. We walked straight into the venue.
As soon as we sat down, Jeremiah came over again. "Is Eric really that good?"
I rolled my eyes and slowly replied, "He's a lot better than you, that's for sure."
At that moment, I saw Jack and Elsa walking in. I raised an eyebrow and grinned. "Your Elsa is here."
Jeremiah snorted, pretending not to care. However, his cocky demeanor faltered. He quickly settled down, no longer showing off.
I shifted my gaze between Elsa and him. These two had their own agendas.
Jeremiah moved between Elsa and me, trying to find a balance. On the other hand, Elsa seemed to be very interested in Eric.
When I saw Elsa sit down, I looked away. Jeremiah seemed to think that victory was already in his grasp, which explained his bright mood. My cold indifference didn't seem to faze him.
"After today, even if you want to get back together with me, it'll be too late," he whispered in my ear,

I nodded and said, "Then congratulations, Mr. Cornell. May all your wishes come
true."
As soon as my words were spoken, the bidding event began.
Jeremiah returned to his seat and cast a provocative glance at me. When he
realized I wasn't looking at him, he sulked and turned away.
The bidding event was divided into two rounds.
The first round was held online, and as long as the bid proposals were relatively complete, the companies could move on to the second round, which was the final bidding. Everyone who attended the event had come fully prepared. noveldrama
The organizer of the event explained the project details before selecting a bid
proposal from the stack of submissions.
"I announce that the bid for the city center land project is awarded to Flint Group. Congratulations!"
The room erupted in applause.
But only Jeremiah and Elsa seemed stunned as if struck by lightning. They
remained frozen in place.
What do you think?
