Chapter 65 Koby’s Death

Chapter 65 Koby’s Death

Koby’s accidental death hit the headlines today, and the police quickly blockade the scene. It was quite

abnormal that an ordinary person’s death could make front-page news of all the newspaper.

Antonio sat in the sofa, holding the newspaper of Koby’s death in his hands. “Mr. Antonio, what about

comparing your signature with the signature on the files, and you’ll see if the signature on the transfer

voucher was forged.”

He was reminiscing his loyal secretary whom was trained by himself. Koby helped him a lot with the

emergency of the transfer voucher. He habitually depended on Koby’s assistance and suggestions.

After Koby reminded him, he instantly made a comparison between the two signatures. When he raised

his head up to find the bandages around Koby’s head, he ordered Koby to get back home to have a

rest. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

“Antonio!”

The anger on Adelaide’s face pulled him from his thoughts, as he subconsciously ordered, “Get out.”

Then both himself and Adelaide was dumbfounded.

Adelaide thought he hated to see her face, but Antonio just recalled that every time he said “Get out”,

Koby would anxiously apologize, “Sorry, Mr. Antonio. I failed to stop him.”

Then he dropped his reminiscence and rose to his feet with one hand on her shoulder. Parting his lips,

he glimpsed at Adelaide as tiredness spread across his face.

“Antonio, is it true of the news today?”

Damla rarely bought newspapers, but she brought home one this morning, from which Adelaide got the

explosive news.

Koby was dead!

Impossible! He pleasantly told her not to afraid of Clarissa and her mother yesterday. She couldn’t

believe now he’s gone!

“Antonio, say it, tell me it’s just another prank of you!” She clenched her fists so hard that the nails

stuck into her skin, but the physical pain was nothing to the pain of losing Koby.

In her one-layer pajama and slippers, she hastily rushed here as soon as she got the news.

Antonio stroked her hair in sympathy and promised her, as well as Koby, that he’d find out the

murderer.

It was Clarissa! Adelaide screamed on the inside.

However, Antonio didn’t think so. His best assistant was murdered as soon as he was accused of

embezzlement. Plus, it was weird that there were no security cameras or witnesses around where

Koby got killed. After the media’s hype, it was harder to find out the murderers.

Concerning the boss of the Baron Group, Koby’s death was known to all now, not to mention the

murders.

Outside the police station were plenty of reporters and journalists who were eager to get the first-hand

updated clues of the case, which would tamper their work on the case.

Although he had told the media not to hinder the police’s work on this case on the impromptu press

briefing this morning, never would experienced reporters lose hold of the juicy news. Some

newspapers even got so-called secret news that Antonio would lose his position of the boss as he was

found squander 4.6 million dollars on her mistress.

Some even wagered a lot on the candidate of the new boss. Absurd as the hearsay was, people could

be misled by it. As soon as the briefing was over, some shareholders came to ask him if he’d disobey

their deals as he might step down.

Even worse, the share prices plunged at the bad news. What was important is to prevent her

grandmother from noticing the fake news of him.

“Adelaide, could you please look after my grandma for me for a while? You know she’s not feeling well

these days…” Adelaide knew his intention. Koby had worked for Antonio ever since his graduation six

years ago. Even Antonio’s grandma had regarded him as her another grandson. Those fake news of

Koby and Antonio would infuriate Antonio’s grandmother to death.

Holding Antonio tight in her arms, she gently said, “Koby was killed due to us. I think we’re obliged to

pay compensation for his family. Will you take it to them?” She paused for a moment before shaking

her head to change her idea. “Wait. Give me the cash, and I’ll give them by myself.”

“Okay.”

Antonio thought the murder was Avid. According to the rules of the Baron Group, if Antonio stepped

down, Avid would be the new boss. Antonio clenched his fists silently as he wouldn’t let Avid get away

with it if he murdered Koby.

Antonio and Adelaide both had their own assumed murderer, and they’d certainly happen to have the

same view of many issues.

“Antonio, Koby told me that there had been something wrong with your business of the company. Is it

solved now?” She was afraid that Antonio would be too exhausted stuck in all the mess.

“I’m okay. Grandmother’s health is our priority now.” He rubbed her hair to calm her overtaxed

emotions.

Adelaide nodded and left.

“Come here, Koby.”

Antonio subconsciously called his reliable secretary, but soon he paused and rubbed his forehead, still

not believing that Koby’s gone.

He sighed and marched out of his office with his coat.

Walking in a bank, he quickly withdrew eight hundred thousand dollars in cash and put them into his

black leather case.

“Hello!”

His phone suddenly went off as he placed the case in the car. When he saw Clarissa’s name on the

screen, he wearily picked it up.

“I’m not feeling well, my dear. I think our baby may need you.”

Clarissa’s saccharine voice got on his nerves. “Find the doctor.”

But Clarissa continued her whining, which upset him, and he directly hung up.
