Chapter 159 Lingering Gloom

Chapter 159 Lingering Gloom

Antonio wasn't willing to waste time. After getting the information he wanted from this woman, he

immediately got up and walked outside.

The woman pulled her coat and followed Antonio with her head down.

Although it was hot in summer, the wind at night was always refreshing. Walking in the dimly lit parking

lot, Antonio relaxed a lot.

He stopped behind his car and opened the trunk, inside which was a white safe.

"The 100000 dollar I promised to give you is in the safe." Antonio pouted to the safe and said softly.

The woman went forward to take the safe. The safe was not locked, so she opened it easily. She saw

the bank notes in the dark light. She was still worried, taking out one of the stacks and checking them

carefully. Seeing all were real bank notes, she closed the safe with satisfaction.

Antonio turned a blind eye to it, closed the trunk, and got on the car.

He picked up his mobile phone and wanted to give Oscar a phone call, asking him to investigate Olivia.

However, he put it down after a second thought. He intended to ask someone who he trusted more to

handle it.

Oscar only worked for him for about half a year, so Antonio couldn't trust him completely.

What's more, this skin care product incident was very likely planned by a member of the company. No

matter whether Oscar was involved in the plot or not, it was a prudent and wise decision for Antonio not

to ask him to do it.

It was more than ten o'clock in the evening when he returned home. The food on the table was already

cold. When Damla saw that Antonio coming back, she stood up from the sofa, "Master, I'll go and heat

up your meal."

Antonio compressed his lips, "You don't have to. I've had dinner." As he spoke, he took off his coat and

put it on the chair in front of the dining table, and then went into his bedroom.

The bedroom was as luxurious as before, but there was no one else except Antonio. Looking at the

empty room, Antonio had no expression.

Not knowing since when, he and Adelaide stopped sleeping in one room. Thinking about it now, he

couldn't even remember which date it was.

He was really angry at Adelaide for what she had done these days. But when he looked at all the luxury

items, he felt that the room was empty. There was always a lingering gloom in Antonio's mind.

Suddenly, there was a sound of water from the bathroom. Antonio frowned, got up and came to the

door.

The bathroom was diagonally opposite to his bedroom. Antonio looked at the light coming out of the

bathroom and was silent.

In the dim light, he felt as if Adelaide was right in front of him, or right beside him. It seemed that he had

been deeply impressed by her every smile and move at this moment.

He just kept looking at the bathroom door, keeping looking. If it were in the past, maybe he wouldn't just

be able to look at it.

Thinking of it, Antonio suddenly realized that he had not had any physical contact with Adelaide for a

long time.

He was thinking more and more and getting more and more confused.

Adelaide didn't want to take a bath today. It wasn't hot today. Moreover, she had been staying at home

and didn't do anything.

Until Antonio came back.

At dinner, she was quite happy that Antonio didn't come back because she felt bad every time she had

dinner with him due to the atmosphere.

Neither of them spoke. Adelaide had a much smaller appetite for food because of the cold atmosphere.

After eating alone, she went back to her room to sleep after watching TV for a while. She lay on the

bed, tossing and turning, unable to sleep. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only

Why hadn't Antonio come back yet? Was he still working overtime?

Why hadn't Antonio come back yet? Was he going to be okay?

All she could think of was Antonio. When she realized this, she immediately gave herself a symbolic

slap. Didn't think about him. Didn't think about this bad man.

Even so, she kept thinking about Antonio.

Just as she was about to slap herself a second time, she heard footsteps from outside the door.

Antonio was back.

She quickly lay down and closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep. But in fact, she was listening to the

sounds from outside carefully.

After a while, there was no sound outside. Presumably, Antonio went back to his bedroom to sleep.

Originally, she was still worried that Antonio would unusually come to her room to find her. Finding that

it was really silent outside, Adelaide was unexpectedly a little disappointed.

Shit! What were you disappointed at? After Adelaide scolded himself in her mind, she turned over,

calmed down and was going to sleep.

But for unknown reasons, she couldn't calm down. She even felt that it was hot and dry in the room,

even though the air conditioner was on.

She lay on the bed for half an hour. Knowing that it would not help, she got up and went to the

bathroom. Maybe taking a bath would help, she thought.

Adelaide could never have thought that Antonio was looking at her somewhere at this moment.

After a while, she went to the mirror and dried her hair with a hairdryer after a shower. She was going

to change into her pajamas when she looked at the hanger and was startled.

Just now she went into the bathroom without bringing anything because of thoughts in her mind. At this

moment, there was no pajamas for her to change into.

Adelaide was scolding herself for being careless in her mind while trying to figure out a way to solve the

current predicament.

She opened her mouth and wanted to shout so that Damla would send clothes to her. She rolled her

eyes and thought: If I did so, I would definitely wake up Antonio. He might do something strange again.

She thought for a while, put a pink bath towel around her body and tied a knot with her two hands

dexterously.

Anyway, Antonio was already asleep, so it was no big deal to wear this and go out, was it?

Adelaide wanted to take a chance. She put her hand on the doorknob and opened the door after

hesitating again and again.

She had to come out of the bathroom and looked around. In retrospect, she really wanted to slap her

face at that moment, with strength. If it wasn't for her looking around, nothing would happen later.

A few seconds later, she found that Antonio was standing at the door of his bedroom and looking at her

without a blink.

She was stunned. She never expected this.

For a moment, she only felt that her legs stiffened. She wanted to run back to her room quickly, but she

couldn't move at all.

Her face blushed unconsciously, and even the skin behind her ears turned red.
