Please Give Me Another Chance Mrs Hamilton

Chapter 242

With a nod, Sean snuggled into Nadine's embrace and wrapped his arms around her neck. "Mommy, you overreacted just now. Daddy was just playing with me. That move was thrilling! I want to play again."

Seeing the excited look on Sean's face, Nadine was at a loss for words. Even after Brad treated him like that, Sean still thought it was thrilling?

What could she say? Should she compliment Sean's tough mentality or praise herself for raising such a brave child?

At a loss for words, Nadine shook her head, released Sean, and resigned herself to going to Brad's room to bandage his wound.

It was almost amusing. When she used to love Brad, she couldn't bear to hurt him even a little, not even a hair. But ever since the divorce was mentioned, she had started to care less about Brad.

The bite she gave him earlier was her second one. She felt no regret, only a sense of satisfaction. There was a certain pleasure in the revenge. She found herself oddly pleased, liking this version of herself.

With Sean settled and left with the maid, Nadine steeled herself and entered the house. If the wound hadn't been caused by her, she wouldn't have bothered.

As soon as she walked into the living room, she saw Brad sitting on the couch, waiting for her. Noting her entrance, Brad fixed his eyes on her like an invisible net trapping her.

Since the wound was still bleeding, he sat there without removing his coat. When he looked at Nadine, his eyes held a barely perceptible chill.

Nadine hated being scrutinized like this. She clenched her jaw, forcing herself to ignore the intense discomfort, and took out the first aid kit. After finding the iodine and cotton swabs, she approached Brad.

She crouched on the floor and skillfully retrieved the disinfectant tools. In a flat, emotionless tone, she said, "Move your hand. I need to disinfect the wound. It might sting a bit, so bear with it."

Her voice was cold and unfeeling, devoid of the warmth it used to have.

Frowning, Brad stared at her delicate face. He snorted disdainfully and extended his injured hand. He knew full well that if he hadn't used Sean as leverage, Nadine wouldn't have come back. She wouldn't be concerned about him like she once wás.

Nadine went about treating the wound on Brad's hand as if she were dealing with a stranger.

In the past, she would have spoken soothingly and tried to make him comfortable while treating his injuries. Now, all that was gone. The room was filled with an irritating silence.noveldrama

Brad looked at Nadine's indifferent face and suddenly felt a sense of alienation. Why did she seem like a different person? Why couldn't she be like she used to be with him? Was it because of Jean's return?

Nadine worked swiftly and efficiently. In less than half a minute, the wound was dressed. Brad's hand bore the marks of old and new injuries, all related to her.

Seeing the injuries on Brad's hand, Nadine couldn't help but recall a previous time he was hurt. He had charged in like a hero and fought Tyler for her.

Back then, he had seemed like a beacon of light in the darkness, illuminating her world. She had thought Brad didn't care about her, but after seeing his frenzied beating of Tyler, she felt he did. Now she wasn't even sure if her feelings were accurate.
