Pertemis: A Wolf’s Tale

Chapter 23 Tale in The Silver Tent

Chapter 23 Tale in The Silver Tent

Artemis’s point of view

She brought him into her tent, his heavy body leaned on her made her shrunk. She could've teleported him, but considering his wounds, that would take risk.

She gently set him on the sofa only to notice him smirking at her.

"What's so funny?" she scowled.

"Who'd have thought lady Artemis would be struggling to carry a male into her tent."

That sentence sent her places. Part it embarrassed her, and when she was embarrassed, she would get angry to hide it.

"So you want to sleep outside on the snow then?" Artemis crossed her arms as Percy widened his eyes.

"That's right boy!" She smirked. "You better close the mouth."

She made her way to the closet, his words kept repeating in her mind 'Who'd have thought lady Artemis would be struggling to carry a male into her tent' When she declared that to her hunters, she didn't actually think deep about it. It went against all her moral, rules, self discipline and principles. Yet, she still did that for him. To provide him protection and most of all, she didn't want him to leave. Since the time he returned to camp, which wasn't much long but not a moment she wanted to be away from him. She would rush in and out, just to be by his sides. Even though her brain told her to leave him be and mind your business cause he's worthless of her cares. But her heart kept going the other way, it overwhelmed all her conscious mind, her muscles, nervous system.

But there was a realisation, she had brought a male to sleep with her. Part of her wanted to kick him out, or just to stick her dagger in his chest. Never in her life she had been this much close to someone,

and at the thought of spending the majority of her time with him with herself liking it. Now with the realisation, it irritated her.

She threw the blanket and pillows on the brown carpet. Percy stared at it for awhile, grimacing.

"Uh am I sleeping there?" He asked.

"No on my bed" she rolled her eyes at his stupidity with her sarcasm.

He closed his mouth and stood there as Artemis climbed on her bed. She stretched a little and pulled a blanket up her neck. Her gaze turned to him and turned ice cold, her silver eyes looked like metal.

"Do anything stupid and you'll see what happen."

He was about to say before her but her words shuttered him.

Artemis was about to turned the lamp off when she noticed him still standing there. Her anger risen a bit as she scowled.

"Why are you still standing there?"

"Uh you said I could sleep on your bed so I'm waiting for you to sleep on the floor." He replied to a stone cold faced Artemis.

Her mind swirled. Just how stupid could he get she said to herself. She swept her face of that blankness and sigh.

"Don't you know what is sarcasm you idiot!" she ranted. "You. Will. Sleep. On. That. Floor over THERE!"

She pointed directly to the blanket and pillows she threw down few minutes ago that were few feet away from her. Percy looked at it than shrugged.

"You could've just told me." He said.

"Just shut up and go to sleep already" Artemis groaned as she turned off the light and drifted off.

It was about mid-night that Artemis was having her nice peaceful sleep. The warmth of the room sent her too a deep sleep, the breeze outside howling, clashing against her tent somehow made her sleeping better.

That was until she heard a groan.

A deep, uncomfortable and aguish one. The howling wind wanted to make her ignore, but she did turn and out of the blackness of the room, she could feel something was wrong.

Artemis turned on the light and the first thing she saw was Ichor. Everywhere that wetted the carpet.

Her eyes traveled to its source as Percy was clenching his teeth while the wounds kept gusting our blood. Her mind went while as she hurried down the bed.

"Holy Chaos!" She screamed in panic as Percy slowly turned to her.

"Artemis the wounds." He managed through the clenching teeth.

She knelled down besides him, her hands pressed on the wounds to keep it from opening more. The contact made Percy winced and stiff. Her heart beat so fast that it wanted to jump out.

Her hands was clotted yellow as she brush his cheek.

"Sta-stay here" she stuttered. "I'll get some bandages"

"Hu-hurry" Percy said.

with that Artemis disappeared.

After applying smashed ambrosia on the wounds, Percy's waist was wrapped around in bandages. Her finger pressed on his waist for security if there was any leak. Percy kept quite the entire time and he just kept looking at her while she was attending his wounds made it so uncomfortable.

She knew he was trying. To distract himself as the pain was ranging at his torso, but why was she the target.

"There" Artemis gave the last check as the gave him a new shirt. She carefully averted her eyes from his chest or she would be staring. "It's all done."

Percy put the shirt and smiled. "Thank you"

She turned to the blood cloaked carpet.

"What happened?" A gentle voice, so soft that even surprised Artemis.

"I-I don't" he told her. "I just felt a guising pain around my waist and the next minute blood was gushing out."

Artemis sighed as she gently turned his head to the sides with her finger to check for any abnormality.

"You feel ok?" She asked. "Any pain elsewhere?"

"I should be fine" he told her with a smile. "Should return to sleep now. You have a big day tomorrow."

Percy picked up a pillow that was still clean on the floor and threw it on the sofa at the far end of the tent. Artemis at the moment out of all her minds grabbed his hands made him to turn.

"Sleep on the bed." She said. "It's more comfortable and I don't want the wounds to reopen again."

"But what about you" he frowned.

That question struck her like lightning bolt. No way she would en sleeping on the sofa. Besides she had never given her bed to anyone, not even her mother. She tried swallow that thought silently

"The bed is king size" she said to him. "Besides the floor is wetted with your blood also I don't want to sleep on the sofa."

"So you serious about sleeping on the same bed with me?" He frowned again for reassurance.

Artemis sighed in annoy. "Yes, idiot." She told him. "I won't leave this tent to you also my bed as well. Now get on and sleep."

Percy listened as he made his steps to the bed.

"Wait!" Artemis gave a stopping sight. She walked to the coffin and pulled out some pillows. She threw them on the bad, making a long line of border that divided the bed in half.

"You will be sleeping on the other side." She told him. "Cross the zone and I'll kill you at the spot."

Her warning was scary enough that Perseus climbed in immediately and pulled blanket to his neck as he stared at the ceiling.

Artemis smirked as she made her way to the other half and settled on. The thought of immediate sleep was impossible. It was the first time she was sleeping on the same bed with someone, and the first had to be a male. She could feel his breath gently on the other side, only the pillow separated them. She wanted to remove it and just stare at him until she slept. But her brain countered back and snapped her to reality. She was about to turn to her side when she heard him.

"Artemis do you hate me?"

His words caught her.

"Yes I hate you as a male" he replied, the hate word was so hard to spit, but she wouldn't let him know how she felt for him. It was even a secret that she wanted to know more than anyone. Did she actually like him. "But you are my brother so technically I'd still have to protect you no matter what."

The word brother made her heart shrunk to the bottom of the sea. She was confident to say it first, but ever since she discovered that feeling, even a tiny bit of it made the word brother now turned salty to speak. She knew they would never form, they relationship that she hated most where it ranged within her family. The incest that had been in her family for thousands of years. But she couldn't help herself.

"So are you gonna decrease the chores?" He made another question.

"Don't take the wounds and ask for a favour Perseus" she told him. "You'll return to them after this."

"Well considered your hunters drove me into this situation" he said. "They should be carry some"

"So you want to sleep outside then" she said. "Cause that's what you'll get when they hear this."

"Fine jeez" he scoffed. "It was just a question for mercy."

"You'll be asking for mercy if I heard more stupid questions from you." She warned him.

It was a moment of silence until his words came again.

"Are you sleepy?"

It was truth that since he moved on her bed all the tendency to sleep was washed away. But he just kept breaking the moment of peaceful silence.

"No cause of your annoying voice" she said. "Aren't you supposed to be tired after everything?"Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

"I don't know" he replied from the other sides. "But having you laying this close just make it hard to sleep"

"Have any perverted thought and I'll skin you alive" she glared at the pillow that could've piercing through the wall of pillow.

"You think of me like that" he raised his voice a bit over the blackness and calm of the night

"Well all male are the same" she said.

"Have you ever considered yourself, female" he made the last word's speed as slow as possible.

She clearly had nothing to say back so Artemis tried to break the argument.

"Can you just go to sleep please?" She groaned. "Just because you don't have work tomorrow doesn't me I won't"

He kept his silence as Artemis sighed. After awhile of quite, Artemis was starting to feel sleepy until.

"Artemis are y-"

"I'll kill you you know that right?" Her eyes wide opened as her muscles crunched together.

"But I cannot sleep" he exclaimed.

"Well it's not my fault right?" Artemis encountered.

"Partially" She could feel him smirking.

"Just shut your mouth already" Artemis groaned and turned her back to the wall of pillows.

Her eyes were closing as his words ranged at her ears against.

"Art-"

Artemis groaned as she sat up and destroyed the border of pillows in a swept of her hand. Perseus cringed in fear as he drifted a bit away.

Artemis lunged closer to him and wrapped her arms around his head, Percy eyes were full of horror at the thought of her snapping it.

But instead she laid down and pulled his head against the crotch of her neck. That effectively shut him more than anything. In normal circumstances, that would've been her being crazy, but she was to tired even care.

Slowly Artemis eyes closed with her arms around Percy and him with a red face but mouth was sealed by an unknown power.
