Chapter 96
Chapter 96:
“Khloe, you still have time to back out before it’s too late. Don’t come crying when Sloane aces this test!” Gwyn jeered, her tone cutting and deliberately antagonistic.
Dorothy sneered, her voice dripping with contempt. “Why waste your breath? You can’t talk sense into someone determined to self-destruct. Let Sloane humiliate her and ruin her reputation for good.”
Brett moved briskly, handing out the exam papers with practiced efficiency. Then, he stepped to the front and pressed the timer. “Start!”
The moment Sloane got her hands on the exam, she skimmed through it rapidly. A triumphant smile spread across her face as confidence washed over her.
The questions were familiar—identical to the ones she had rehearsed during her private lessons. Perfect!
Every penny she had spent was paying off beautifully.
Without hesitation, Sloane grabbed her pen, her gaze laser-focused on the paper as she methodically worked through the problems. Her face remained serene, a faint smile playing on her lips.
Before long, she flipped to the next page.
Feeling ahead of the game, Sloane allowed herself a quick glance at Khloe. To her shock, Khloe had barely skimmed the questions before resting her head on the desk, as if settling in for a nap.
“Has Khloe lost her mind? Who takes a nap during an exam?” a student gasped in disbelief.
“She’s clueless—probably couldn’t make sense of a single question. No wonder she’s snoozing,” another scoffed disdainfully.
Sloane let out a quiet sigh of relief, careful not to let it show. It appeared that Khloe’s three years behind bars had completely eroded her academic edge. This was a perfect chance to claim victory. There was no way she could lose now.
Before long, the clock ticked closer to the final moments of the exam.

With an air of confidence, Sloane set down her pen, carefully reviewed her answers, and handed in her exam once she was sure everything was perfect. She raised her head and threw a bold, taunting look at Khloe, who remained undisturbed in her slumber, her heart swelling with satisfaction.
“Sir, I’m confident my answers will meet your expectations,” Sloane said in a sugary tone.
Brett acknowledged her with a knowing smile. “I have no doubt you’ll come out on top.”
As the clock ticked down, only five minutes remained in the exam.
Out of nowhere, Khloe stirred, lifting her head in a leisurely manner. After a slow stretch, she picked up her pen and began to write furiously, her hand flying across the paper without hesitation or need for rough work.
All eyes shifted to her in an instant, filled with clear disdain and ridicule.
“Hey, did you enjoy your nap? What’s the plan now—save the day in five minutes?” Gwyn sneered, folding her arms and flashing a smirk full of derision.
“Right? Does she think she’s some kind of prodigy who’ll outshine Sloane in a few minutes? What a joke—always looking for attention!” Another classmate spoke up, her face twisted in mockery as she shot a sideways glance at Khloe.noveldrama
“Quit embarrassing yourself, Khloe. Own up to your failure and plead for Sloane’s forgiveness. Maybe then we’ll let you leave with a shred of dignity. Otherwise, when your expulsion becomes public, forget about making it in showbiz!” another sneered.
The class stared at Khloe as if she were the butt of a cruel joke, yet amidst the jeers, she remained unflappable, steadily working through her answers.
Her calm composure made it seem less like she was sitting for a high-stakes test and more like she was idly sketching. Sloane observed Khloe’s frantic scribbling, and a sneer curled on her lips.
