Chapter 57
Chapter 57 Abortion
Carol was furious. "Where are you running off to? Are you still entangled with Emily?"
"Impossible!" Sophia's voice came from upstairs. She had a grim expression on her face and was still in her pajamas as she followed them outside. "I won't let them get back together, absolutely not!" "Oh my goodness, be careful with your belly!"
Carol's greatest concern was for the unborn child. Sophia dashed outside, and Carol abandoned the remote control to chase after her.
"Emily!" Nathan had just stepped out and saw Emily standing not far from the villa on the roadside, looking into the distance as if waiting for someone.
He went straight over and grabbed her. "I'm calling you, why aren't you saying anything?"
Emily stumbled backward when he pulled her, almost losing her balance.
Without looking at him, she shook off his hand. "I have nothing to say to you. If you keep pulling me like this, I will sue you."
"Okay," Nathan let go. "I lost my temper that day, almost hurting you out of impulse. I promise I won't do that again. Emily, I knew you would come to find me. I've been waiting for you..."
Emily frowned deeply at his words. "How did you know I would come?"
"Because your ID was left in my car. Don't worry, I've kept it safe for you. I apologize to you. Can't we stop the divorce?"
Emily couldn't help but laugh. "Do you think I'm divorcing you out of pettiness?"
As Emily walked along the road, which she had traversed for four years and was familiar with every turn, she kept her eyes on the passing taxis, ready to flag down Bert as soon as she saw him.
Seeing her distracted, Nathan became anxious. "Okay, okay, you're not being petty. I misspoke. What can I do to make you feel better? Are you upset that I bought a car for Sophia? I can explain that to you. She pestered me for it. She's pregnant and needs transportation..."
Nathan buzzed around her like a nagging bee. Emily tried to avoid his hands while also keeping an eye on the traffic on the road. She was getting increasingly annoyed.
"I don't care who you buy cars for, it's none of my business, and I don't want to know the reasons. You don't need to tell me."
"You're still mad at me," Nathan
blocked her path with a step
forward, grabbing her shoulder and leaning in close. "Emily, I'll buy onez for you too. Did you model at the car show because you like cars? What kind of car do you like? A sedan, a sports car, or an SUV? I'll get you a Porsche, or maybe a Ferrari? What do you want? I'll buy it for you."
Emily's view was completely blocked. Nathan blocked her left and right, making it impossible for her to see the road. She was furious.
"I don't like cars, and I don't drive. I worked at the car show just to earn money! Stop wasting your time on me." Emily pushed him away forcefully. "Let me go."
"I won't," Nathan acted stubbornly, determined to block her path no matter what. "You need money, I'll give it to you. Quit your job. You're still Mrs. Reed."
Emily tried to bypass him and leave, but Nathan pulled her back and held her shoulder firmly. "Nathan, let go of me!" Emily stomped on his foot in anger. "I'm not Mrs. Reed anymore!"
"You are! We haven't filed for divorce yet, so you're still my wife!" Nathan laughed coldly. "Are you still thinking about Jackson? I found out that your lover outside is Jackson. No wonder you want a divorce. Emily, don't be silly. You don't understand Jackson. His temper is notoriously explosive. Haven't you noticed he's always alone? No one can stand his volatile temperament. Maybe he's nice to you now, but in the long run, he'll show his true colors." Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
Emily was exasperated. "Why are you acting like a child? I've told you, my relationship with him isn't what you think. Our divorce is between

Sophia. I think you and her perfect match, especially now that you're having a child together! Can't we just draw a clear line here? Why are you still acting crazy?"
"What if I break up with Sophia?" Nathan said casually. "If I break up with her, will you come back and we continue as husband and wife? Would that work?"
"No need," Emily took a deep breath. "She's carrying your child. No matter how much I hate her, how much I despise her, that's between her and me. I'll settle the score with her sooner or later, but the child is innocent. You're about to be a father, you should take responsibility."
Nathan grew more urgent. "Then I'll ask her to have an abortion! After all, you can still conceive. You can have a child for me."
Emily widened her eyes in shock. "That's your child, and you're casually suggesting ending its life! You're despicable!"
"I just want to calm you down! If it weren't for this child, I wouldn't have been with Sophia in the first place, and I wouldn't have divorced you. So, the culprit is this child. As long as the child is gone, I'll send Sophia abroad... Oh, and I can buy another villa for us to live in, away from my mom. Would that be acceptable to you?"
