The internet merely revealed that Rachel was her mother and made a big deal out of the fact that Rachel was a murderer, without mentioning anything about the baby swap with the Jones family.

Cynthia didn’t engage with that and seemed entirely uninterested in Vivian’s outburst. She was still very calm. “I just want to know who provided you with that information.”

Vivian didn’t expect Cynthia to be so nonchalant and maintain her lofty demeanor. Fury boiled within her. “You want to know that? Well, I won’t tell you.”

“If you tell me now, I might let you off the hook,” Cynthia said.

Vivian burst into laughter. “Cynthia, why are you still pretending to be powerful now? You have nothing left. I’d like to see what you can do to me.”

Cynthia smirked, stood up, and picked up her phone, dialing a number. She was calling Jonathan. The call connected quickly.

Cynthia said, “Can you do me a favor…”

A few minutes later, Cynthia returned to her seat.

“Cynthia, just stop pretending. You think I’m scared of a phone call? Who do you think you are?” Vivian kept mocking her.

She was not afraid at all, because she had already deleted the original post. If anything, Vivian might just get reported for invading Cynthia’s privacy, but a bit of money could resolve that.

However, Vivian soon received a call from the editor–in–chief of Fashion Glamour. “Vivian, I’m afraid I can’t give you the editor position.” NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.

Vivian panicked instantly. “Mr. Lee, didn’t we agree on this today?”

“You must have offended someone. I can’t say more; it’s an order from above,” the editor–in–chief said.

After hanging up, Vivian stared at Cynthia in disbelief.

She had been planning for the position of editor at Fashion Glamour for months, spending a lot of money and leveraging her connections to secure it finally.

Then she broke down hysterically. “Cynthia, what kind of trick did you pull? You can’t ruin my job!”

Cynthia’s smile disappeared. “You brought this on yourself.”

Vivian forced herself to stay calm. “I almost forgot you had a good relationship with Mr. Lee. Did you sleep with him? Cynthia, don’t think I’m afraid of you. If I can’t be the editor at Fashion Glamour, there are plenty of other magazines that would love to have me.”

“You won’t be going anywhere; you’ve been blacklisted by all the media,” Cynthia said.

Vivian didn’t believe it. But for some reason, Cynthia’s confident tone made her feel a bit panicked. She hurriedly made a few calls.

What Cynthia said turned out to be true. Several large newspapers and magazines she had connections with had indeed received a blacklist order regarding her. She was completely ousted from the industry.

Vivian suddenly collapsed into her seat, staring blankly at Cynthia, who was sitting across from her. She wondered why Cynthia have such immense power.

“Who… exactly are you Vivian stammered.

“You’re such an idiot that you don’t know who you’ve offended. A tall figure suddenly appeared behind Cynthia.

Vivian looked up and suddenly looked terrified. “Mr. Bennett…”

Jonathan stood behind Cynthia, one hand affectionately resting on her shoulder. Cynthia glanced up, a bit surprised. “What are you doing here?”

“I told you last night, didn’t I? Today is Tommy’s birthday, and we reserved a private room at Cloudtop Restaurant,” he replied.

“But I didn’t expect you to be meeting a friend here.” Jonathan lifted his gaze, locking eyes with Vivian. His expression shifted from gentle to icy in an instant.

Vivian’s face went pale. From their demeanor, tones, and conversation, she realized their relationship was anything but ordinary.

She couldn’t believe that Cynthia had actually hooked up with Jonathan Bennett. Unmatched jealousy and fury surged in her eyes.

But under Jonathan’s frosty gaze, her expression shifted to one of pleading. “Mr. Bennett, please forgive me. It was all Lilian’s fault. She gave me a folder of information the day I quit. She manipulated me into releasing it online on the last day of voting, so she could secure the prime– time host position. I was nothing but her tool.”

Vivian knew what it meant to offend Jonathan. She attended university at Betrico, where there were countless rumours about him.

He was said to be ruthless, with an angel’s face and a devil’s heart; those who crossed him either vanished without a trace.or ended up dead with no burial.

Jonathan’s voice was icy. “Tools deserve to be discarded. You have three days to leave Roncrity. Don’t let me see you again, or I assure you, there won’t be a place for you in this entire country.”

Vivian’s face drained of color, and in her despair, she was rendered speechless.

Cynthia got the answer she wanted and stood up.

Jonathan took her hand, his tone gentle. “Why are your hands so cold?” With that, he removed his suit jacket and draped it over Cynthia’s shoulders.

As they walked out of the restaurant, Cynthia said, “Thank you for your help. I owe you one.”

Only someone with Jonathan’s influence could blacklist Vivian from the media circle.

Cynthia’s tone was somewhat distant, as if aside from their moments in bed, there was always a clear line between them. Jonathan replied calmly, “Since you say you owe me, there’s an opportunity for you to repay that favor.”

Cynthia looked up, her beautiful, misty eyes making hearts race. “What opportunity?”

“I told you that Tommy is having his birthday party here. Everyone else has a date, but I don’t, which is rather embarrassing. Why don’t you join me for a drink, and then we can head back together?” Jonathan said.

Cynthia knew that for these rich young men, women were just objects for them to boast about, or toys and decorations that added to their glory, just like their designer watches or women’s designer clothes and handbags.

Though she didn’t approve of these values, she felt it was only right to repay the favor. “Alright, let’s go.”

The door to the private room swung open, and the lively atmosphere rushed out to greet them.

The room was spacious, with people singing, playing poker, and others sitting on the sofa, drinking and rolling dice. The table was piled high with various gifts and a massive, already sliced cake.

“Jon, you’re back! Where did you just go?” A lovely girl spotted Jonathan at the door and flitted over happily like a lark.

But when she saw Cynthia beside Jonathan, wearing his suit jacket, her expression changed abruptly. Her voice rose, brimming with hostility. “Jon, who is she?”

Others gradually snapped to attention, their eyes widening in surprise as they noticed Jonathan had brought a woman

him.

“She’s my girlfriend,” Jonathan replied flatly. But his voice was loud enough for everyone in the room to hear.
