My Marriage to a Mute Girl

Chapter 12 Imperative

Chapter 12 Imperative

After Alan returned, Diana explained the matter, probably saying a few irrelevant words.

He just casually swept a glance at Lexie in the corner, without taking a position.

Lexie wasn't lost, she had expected this result.

But Edith's heart couldn't help but snicker, it showed that he didn't care about that mute at all in his

heart, didn't it?

Edith came forward with a smile on her face and handed the man the coffee she had made long ago, Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.

"Alan, have some coffee, it's been a busy day."

Unexpectedly, Alan refused, "No, it's late, you should go back."

Edith's smile froze at the corner of her mouth.

She pretended that she couldn't understand it as if she was being driven away, and was deliberately

pretending cute: "Alan, I want to learn something from you, so that I can help my father manage the

company in the future, can I?"

Such a delicate and soft girl pouted, and the average man cannot bear to refuse.

Alan, however, narrowed his eyes, "If you don't leave now, you can’t come again."

The scar on his face would make him look badass when he looked at people with a cold gaze.

Edith's face changed slightly before she hurriedly smiled, defusing the embarrassment for herself,

"Alright, alright, I know you're afraid that my dad is worried about me, right? Then I'll go home first and

come back another day, bye~"

She was still smiling when she left, and as soon as she left the house, her face instantly clouded, and

she took one last look at the door with an imperative determination in her eyes.

Lexie brought a cup of brewed oolong tea and put it over after Edith had left.

She knew that Alan liked to make a cup of tea every time he left work, so he did not drink the coffee

Edith made.

Lexie subconsciously tensed up, and with her head down, she could still feel his dark gaze falling on

her.

"What are you staying here for?"

The corners of Lexie's lips pursed and she raised her eyes to look at him, closing her hands and

placing them between her neck and shoulders in a gesture of sleep: [Aren't you going to bed?]

She had only asked casually, but was clearly misunderstood by him.

Alan frowned, "You want to sleep with me?"

Lexie was stunned and shook her head in a hurry.

He strode away, "Since not, leave me alone."

Lexie froze in place for a moment, then left in silence.

Neither one of them noticed Kevin standing by the window.

A flash of shock crossed his eyes.

He was to see his cousin, not expecting to see this scene.

It turned out that Alan wasn't nice to her.

Realizing this, Kevin's previous doubts were figured out, no wonder even Marry dared to tell Lexie what

to do.

He heard from the nurse caring for the elderly that Lexie's grandma was initially sponsored for

treatment, but inexplicably cut off.

Kevin then guesses that perhaps Alan broke her money chain, and Lexie fretted about that.

He had heard what Marry had said during the day, and he had seen Diana's attitude towards Lexie.

What was not to understand?

As a mute who can't speak, was disliked by her husband and had an awkward and embarrassing

position in the Howard family, she must have a hard time.

How a tender and helpless woman could afford the expensive medical bills of her grandma?

It was a strange woman whom he had only met twice, but Kevin's heart was inexplicably sour.

Maybe, he should help her.

......

Lexie woke up in the morning, and it was still a day of being ignored by everyone in the Howard family,

and since her cleaning was stopped by Alan, Diana didn't continue to make her work.

She finished her meal under the contempt of the servants and got up, only to be called by Kevin.

"Miss Mitchell."

Kevin did not call her sister-in-law and kept calling her Miss Mitchell instead, which also made Lexie

less embarrassed.

She showed a puzzled look and heard Kevin speak again, "The dean told me that your grandma has

woken up, and I happen to be going to the hospital to see your grandma, so I'll take you with me."

Lexie was first happy because her grandma woke up, then she was a bit hesitant and expressed in

sign language, [Is it okay?]

Knowing what she was concerned about, Kevin smiled and shook her head, "It's okay."

In the end, the eagerness to see her grandma prevailed.
