Chapter 5 Till Death Do Us Apart
Leo leaned on a pillar in the room, replied drowsily:” Well, someone has to be responsible for me being kissed, isn’t it?”
Susie flushed; it was also her first kiss.
But what else could she have done given that was the final step of a wedding? And who knew that Leo was holding so tight to it that she had to be, to quote Leo, responsible?
“Leo, that was my only choice, you can take revenge if you want to.” Susie explained, barely held back her anger.
“Revenge? What is it? Is it me kissing you? No can do, girl.”
How can someone be so shameless like this? As much as Susie was reluctant, there was nothing she could do to Leo’s gloating but tolerate.
Leo continued as he noticed that the wild kitty was a bit pissed:”I know your family is going through financial crisis, otherwise you wouldn’t rush this marriage with Xie’s family. Susie, whatever they can do for you, I can do it better. I dare not say that I’m excellent, but I can say I excel Danny in any aspects you can think of.”
“You are willing to help us?” RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
It surprised Susie that Leo knew all about it. She left her family very young thus she had never really bonded with her parents and sisters, but she loved her granny, who’s also worried about the crisis they’re under. Hadn’t her granny come down with illness, she wouldn’t make such a sacrifice marrying Danny to help her family. It was just not her.
Leo nodded.
“What’s your demand, then?”
“Be my wife. This wedding was a deception, let’s make it real.” Leo replied in no time.
“For how long?”
And that got Leo, for he hadn’t thought about it.
To relive Susie, Leo gave an exact number: “Three years, tops. If you grow tired of living in our family after that, I can set you free.”
“It could be your word against mine by that time.” Susie was prudent.
“We can make a contract, but it’s only between you and me.”
After five seconds of silence, Susie conceded.
“Deal.”
And it brought a strange feeling into Leo’s heart that it wouldn’t end easily after years given there were still many things he didn’t know about Susie.
“So…till death do us apart.” Leo said, half-jokingly.
Susie slowly turned to him, corrected his words quite seriously: “Three years.”
But Leo stopped listening as he eventually got to know what Susie looked like as she turned to him. Neither did he see it in the wedding, for the kiss just happened too fast, nor during their talks just now since he could only look at her profile.
Leo went speechless, there was not a word he can think of to present Susie’s beauty.
Damn all those rumors. They say she stutters when she talks, but she speaks like a diplomat; they say she look as far as ugly could describe, but her beauty defies the superlative of all the words that tell beauty.
Leo’s not a lecher, but still he couldn’t moved his eyes from Susie.
