Chapter 26 A new job
Olivia walkd down the dark streets of Beverly road, Los Angeles, claded in a blue jeans and a black hood which covered her face as she walked.
At every step she took, she frantically turned back, making sure she wasn’t been followed by anyone. And when she finally confirmed she wasn’t been followed, Olivia made her way towards a small cottage which was at the far end of the street.
“You’re finally here. What took you so long?” A male voice boomed immediately she entered the cottage and Olivia scoffed.
“I was busy.” She replied, making her way towards the voice.
“what’s so important that you couldn’t wait till tomorrow before calling me?” She inquired, visibly pissed off as she glared at the guy infront of her who had a smirk on his lips.
“I got a new job for you Olive.” He announced and she rolled her eyes.
“What is it this time? And how much is the pay? Don’t try to play tricks with me Hayden.” She warned and the guy, Hayden smiled.
“Don’t make me the bad person now Olivia, you didn’t really finish your last job. I didn’t get to see the body of lady Jenna, remember?” He reminded and Olivia gulped the lump which hung on her throat.
“I told you I took care of the body, it was thrown over the bridge.” She muttered and Hayden nodded.
“The new job is actually quite simple, but the pay is very good.” He revealed.
“Lady Mia wants you to find some information of some pest disturbing her.” He added and Olivia nodded.
Finding information about people was her specialty.
“The pay is 500 thousand dollars Olive.” He announced and Olivia widened her eyes in amusement, such a huge money for such a small job.
“What’s the person’s name?” She asked, already getting impatient, she didn’t tell Emily she was leaving the house.
“Her name is Emily Martins, Sir Niguel personal assistant.” Hayden dropped the bombshell and Olivia widened her eyes in shock.
On hearing Emily’s name, Olivia’s body went numb as colour drained from her face and Hayden didn’t fail to notice this.
“E… Emily Martins?” She repeated and Hayden nodded his head.
“Yes, Emily Martins.” He confirmed.
“I need every tiny pieces of information on her. I’m giving you three days Olivia, three days to get the job done and nothing more.” He added.
“Here, take this.”
He ordered, giving her a brown envelope which she reluctantly took.
“That’s half the payment, you’ll get your full payment when you’re done with your job.” He revealed.
“I’ll be going now.” She announced and without wasting another second, Olivia made her way out of the cottage.

Hayden watched as she left and he sighed.
He pulled a phone from his pocket and dialed a number.
“Hello boss.”
The voice muttered from the other end of the call after picking at third ring.
“I need some information on Olivia. Find out where she stays and what she has been up to, this past few days.” He ordered.
“Yes boss.” The other voice replied and Hayden hung the call.
He noticed the slight changes in Olivia when he told her about the job.
He haven’t had a reason to doubt her in the past as she had been working for him for almost 5 years, but recently, she was beginning to behave suspicious, giving him a reason to doubt her.
Sighing deeply, he made his way out of the cottage, towards his car and in the next minute zoomed out of the environment.

(THE NEXT MORNING)
Emily woke up by the loud sound of a car’s repeated horn and rubbing her sleepy eyes, she peeped outside her window, just to see her boss car parked outside making her eyes widened in awe.
He didn’t tell her he was coming to pick her up this morning. What was she going to do? She hasn’t even had her bath yet.
She looked beside her and saw Olivia who fast asleep beside her on her small bed and her mouth was wide open.
Emily wanted to let out a laugh, but the situation at hand didn’t make her laugh so the least she could do was to take a picture of Olivia.
She would taunt her with this later.
Not bothering to wake her up, Emily made her way towards the bathroom to quickly have her bath, coming out minutes later with a white towel tied around her body.
She applied lotion on her skin and hurriedly wore a dress.
“Olive? Olive, i’ll be going to work now.” She announced and the sleeping Olivia stirred lazily on the bed.
“So early?” She muttered, slightly opening her eyes and was surprised to see Emily awake and all dressed up.
“It’s some minutes past 8 dummy, I’m apparently late and to make matters worst, my boss is outside waiting for me.” Emily uttered and Olivia widened her eyes.
“Your boss is waiting outside for you?” She asked and Emily nodded her head. She was packing her work stuffs now.
“I’ll be going now Olive.” Emily announced, heading towards the door.
“Without eating breakfast?” Olivia asked and Emily chuckled.
“I’ll get something to eat at work, I’m so fucking late right now.” Emily replied.
“Take care of yourself Em.”
“I will Olive, you too.” And with that, Emily left the room in a squint, running towards Niguel’s car.
.
.
Olivia sat back on the bed, staring at the disappearing figure of Emily and she let out a deep sigh.
5 years ago, when she had saved her, she knew she was disobeying her boss order and was putting her life at risk, but she couldn’t just ignore the pleas of this particular dying lady.
Her face was covered with blood and her clothes, which had holes in it due to the explosion was drenched with blood.
“Please, please help me.” That was her last words before she lost conciousness.
That wasn’t the first time Olivia was doing such job. Growing up in the slumps, Olivia did all kinds of odd jobs to survive until a faithful day, when she met Hayden, who introduced her to her job and trained her to be the best among his men.
She became an assassin, a well trained assassin and her job was dangerous but the pay was good.
She was told to make sure the youngest miss of the Williams household, Miss Jenna, was dead but instead she ended up saving her.
She took her to the hospital that cold night and paid the doctors to do a surgery on her face which was filled with cuts, thanks to the explosion and fortunately, the surgery was a success.
When Jenna woke up the next morning, she had forgotten all her memories, having no idea of who she was or where she was and then Olivia appeared, tears strolling down her cheeks and she hugged her.
“I’m your best friend Emily, my name is Olivia.” She introduced, going on to give her a new name and a new identity.
Olivia fed lies to Jenna, telling her how Jenna was hit by a car on her way to visit her and how she felt extremely guilty for it.
“What about my parents, my family?” Jenna had asked.
“You have no parents Emily, I’m the closest person to you as a family.” She replied, patting Emily’s hair like a child.
Olivia went on to swap their identities, giving her identity to Emily.
Telling her how she was poor and all, while taking Emily’s identity of being the rich one.
All this years, she had carefully hid Emily away from the eyes of her boss Miss Mia, and also away from anything related to the Williams household and over the years, everything went smoothly.
She had her fears when Emily suddenly got a job at Cloudrevel company, to be the CEO’s assistant and her fears knew no bounds.
She knew one way or the other Emily would get to meet Mia and that meant trouble. And yesterday, her fears was confirmed when Hayden gave her the job.
Sighing frustratedly, Olivia stood up from the bed, peeping outside the window.
This past years, she had come to love Emily like a sister and was already too attached to let her go.
To protect Emily, Olivia had only one option. And that was revealing her true identity to the world and to do this, she had to make Emily remember her forgotten memories.NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
