My Hidden Marriage With The President

Chapter 58 An Extraordinary Sponsor

Bro, would it kill you to elaborate a little more?

Although he wanted to complain, Nathan still took Caleb’s order seriously. He unlocked the phone and checked today’s news.

As he had expected, the news was about Eva. He knew that Eva was the only person in this world that could make his brother get things done for her.

“Eva Sommers may be involved in a romantic relationship with the boss of Luxstar, Nathan Livingstone.”

Seeing that, a chill ran down Nathan’s spine. Why was he embroiled in this scandal! If Caleb was here, he would kill Nathan.

In a picture, Eva was kissing a man in front of Hilton. There was another picture showing the man carrying Eva to the car. Although Nathan couldn’t see his face, he still recognized that the man was Caleb.

Nathan was happy that his brother finally knew how to please a woman.

Then, he got off the bed and made a clarification.

The mistake the media made was understandable. After all, Nathan and Caleb were practically built the same way physically. Nathan often showed his face in the showbiz, so the media was more familiar with him. Plus, Eva was just signed by Luxstar. It did seem to make sense if she was going out with him.

Although Nathan refuted this rumor, Sheila was still green with envy.

The Livingstone family was extremely prestigious in Hartvenport. This rumor would bring a lot of attention to Eva.

Sheila put down the phone and walked out of her house.

In Ms Cafe.

“Thanks for hanging out with me, Sheila. I was so bored at home.”

Ever since the wrap of “Rose in the Wind”, Rebecca didn’t even get one audition. So, she just stayed at home all day every day.

“Is there something wrong?” Sensing Sheila’s bad mood, Rebecca asked tentatively. Rebecca had the intention of becoming friends with Sheila. In the showbiz, Sheila was more recognized than she was after all.

“I’m mad at Eva Sommers for stealing your thunder!” Sheila lamented, secretly observing Rebecca’s reaction from her peripheral vision.

Rebecca already had a grudge towards Eva because Eva got the role that was supposed to be hers. Sheila’s words were no different from adding fuels to the fire. But she gained Rebecca’s trust by saying that.

“I won’t let her get away with this!” Rebecca said in a voice charged with fury.

Seeing her provocation had done the trick, Sheila curled her lips into a smile.

The two didn’t leave the cafe until it was getting dark outside.

Before the premiere of “Rose in the Wind”, Mel went on a variety show to hype up his TV series. As the female costar, she had to go with him.

“Rose in the Wind” was already super popular as a book. Now, it was adapted into a TV series, and Mel was the director. Therefore, after seeing the behind-the-scenes footage released, many people set their expectations sky-high.

Eva and Sheila were both there to promote their show. Hence, they were inundated by questions during a section with reporters.

“This question is for Sheila. You and Eva played enemies in the show. How is your relationship in real life?”

“We are actually good friends. We chat with each other all the time.” Sheila gave a simple answer. She turned to look at Eva with a smile on her face, acting as if they were really friends.

Eva didn’t want to make a scene, so she just let it be.

The section finally ended. Eva dragged her exhausted body back to the hotel, hoping she could catch some sleep. In the lobby, she was stopped by Sheila and a few other costars in the show.

“Isn’t she that slutty vixen?” Eva was about to go upstairs when she heard Rebecca’s voice. She turned to glare at Rebecca.

Rebecca took a step back, a little intimidated by Eva. But when she realized that there were people backing her up, she held her head up high and hollered at Eva, “What? Yeah, I’m talking about you! You filthy slut. Who knows how many men have you slept with!”

Eva’s assistant, Momo, beaten Eva to come back at Rebecca. “Watch your mouth!”

Eva patted Momo’s hand to calm her down.

Seeing Eva didn’t even try to explain, Rebecca thought Eva was guilty. So, she grew more audacious. “What? Cat got your tongue?”

“Speaking of sleeping around, Miss Franklin put all of us to shame.” Eva said calmly, looking at Rebecca with a half smile.

“What did you say? I’ll kill you!”

“Why are you so angry? Did I get it right?” Eva scorned. “Too bad. You did all your dirty tricks but still didn’t get the role.”

That was her sore point. Rebecca tried everything to please Ethan Janni, the producer, but still lost the role to Eva.

Sheila observed the situation, secretly complaining that Rebecca was useless.

“Oh, get off your high horse. You were seen kissing a man out there in the street! Who knows what kind of things you are capable of behind closed doors!” A woman standing next to Sheila voiced.

“That’s right. She was even caught on camera with that man. I guess you can never judge a book by the cover.” Another woman chimed in.

“That man was driving a limo. He’s definitely her sugar daddy.” Sheila sniffed.

“What? Are you jealous that I got such a handsome sponsor? Go get yourself one. If you can’t find a handsome one, you can consider finding yourselves some paunchy old man.”

Who didn’t want to find a handsome sugar daddy? But now, most of the rich and powerful guys were bald and paunchy middle-aged men. So, when they saw Eva’s rumored boyfriend was a charming rich guy, they were almost devoured by envy and hatred.

A handsome sugar daddy was something they would beg for.

And Eva just said they didn’t deserve that. That was utter belittlement.

The group of costars gritted their teeth. Rebecca clenched her fists and glared at Eva bitterly.NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

“Eva, we were just kidding. Don’t take that seriously.” Seeing that Rebecca almost lost it, Sheila came to ease the tension.

However, Eva ignored her words and went upstairs.

Sheila stared at Eva’s receding figure.

Did she just ignore me? Let’s wait and see. She was gonna teach Eva a lesson that she’d never forget.
