Mr George, Don't Be So Arrogant

Chapter 6 A Gift on the First Meeting, He Liked It

Chapter 6 A Gift on the First Meeting, He Liked It

The two had just stepped into the compound of the George residence when a tall white figure ran from

the room and stopped in front of the two in few steps.

"Brother! You're finally here!"

Riley Watson's eyes suddenly widened. This…young man in a white tailcoat with meticulously groomed

hair was actually the punk who asked for directions during the day!

Hendrix George and Euan George's looks were not much similar. The temperament was completely

different, Euan had a cold characteristic in him while Hendrix was naturally warm and cheerful, and

people felt that he was friendly.

With the small episode during the day, Riley and Hendrix both smiled unspokenly.

"Hello, sister-in-law! I long heard that sister-in-law is a beauty, and today we finally met. However,

sister-in-law is even more beautiful than what I heard. Brother, you are fortunate!"

Riley smiled, and before she could say anything, Euan said with a stern face, "You are inquiring about

news instead of focusing on your study abroad?"

Hendrix scratched his head and pretended to be ignorant, "Study is certainly important, but I'm also

concern about Brother's marriage."

Euan glanced at him, then handed him a handbag that the driver had just handed over, "Your sister-in-

law gave you a gift for the first meeting."

Riley tilted her head to look at Euan's side face, trying to find clues from his face. However, all of his

expression changes seemed to be directed at Hendrix alone, and not taking her into account at all.

"Thank you, sister-in-law! The gift chosen by sister-in-law; I definitely like it!"

Riley smiled graciously, "It's not something good either, just as long as you like it."

Euan's expression slightly turned serious.

"Father and mother are waiting inside. Brother and sister-in-law, let's get in!"

Euan did not say a word, took a step, and walked inside. Hendrix's eyes drifted inadvertently to Riley

and thought of something, then shook his head again to deny himself.

"Let us in. What are you standing still for?" As he stepped onto the steps, Euan coldly and solemnly

said to Hendrix, who was still standing in place behind him.

"I'm coming. I was just admiring the night scenery!" Hendrix took two steps to catch up with him.

Riley was confused. The two brothers have not seen each other for five years. Shouldn't they first

exchange greetings and say something like "you grew taller and became handsome"?

But if these words came out from the mouth of the Euan, how horrible it would be.

The three of them entered in order. When they were changing their slippers in the foyer, Riley had to

unclip the crystal buckle of her high heels, and the bag in her hand was in the way. She was about to

put it on the shoe cabinet when two hands reached over at the same time.

The hands of Euan and Hendrix hung together in mid-air. Hendrix shrugged his shoulders and withdrew

his hand. Euan took her bag, changed his slippers, and went inside.

Riley was perplexed. The way Euan acted just now; was he trying to play a scene of conjugal love in

front of his brother?

That definitely embarrassed him.

Hendrix lowered his voice and laughed, "Sister-in-law, Brother is very considerate to you."

Riley did not deny, "Well, quite good."

Hendrix added, "Sister-in-law, don't look at my Brother as he was cold and domineering. He is a

standard gentleman when he is being gentle."

Riley glimpsed at the tall figure of Euan, and smiled coldly. Was Euan ever gentle? Knock it off.

The vintage crystal chandelier that hung over the large living room was brightly lit, and the ancient red

sofa was empty. Jakub George was holding scissors to trim an orchid on the antique shelf.

"Dad."

"Dad."

Both husband and wife greeted in unison. Jakub didn't even raise his head and continued to fiddle with

the slender leaves of the orchid, "You're back. Go sit in the living room."

"Yes."

"Yes…"

The quiet living room had a smell that could suffocate people.

Hendrix snatched the scissors from Jakub's hand. He was acting cutesy while also seriously smiled

and said, "Dad, I've come back after a long time, and you only looked at the flowers and not me. I'm

heartbroken."

Jakub's intense eyes swept his son's face, "You have grown up. Learn something good instead of

learning how to act cutesy."

"Because you are my dad. Of course, I will act cutesy in front of you. Come, dad, let's sit together."

Hendrix's series of actions shocked Riley. Damn, Hendrix was bold enough. He actually dared to do

these in front of Jakub?

The strange thing was, Jakub actually did not lose his temper?

In her memory, Jakub never smiled, and his face was tensed all day. His expression could simply be

copied and pasted.

To Hendrix, Jakub suddenly changed to a different person.

"Everyone is back. Let the kitchen prepare to serve the dishes."

A gentle middle-aged woman's voice spread down from the second floor. Anika Gill, who was wearing

a vermillion embroidered cheongsam, came down from the second floor. She was over fifty years old,

but her well-kept face did not have a single wrinkle, and her long and shiny hair was worn into a bun

with a hairpin without any decoration inserted diagonally. She was wearing two sapphire rings on her

hand, and her body was slightly plump; her steps were slow and elegant.

The three people were busy getting up, and Euan stepped forward, "Mom."

The others behind him have not had opportunity to greet her, and Anika had already pulled her son's

hands. She put them in her hands and patted it, looking at his cheeks in a distressed manner, "Why

have you lost weight? You did not come back just a few days, and you have become so thin. I let you

live at home, but you did not listen. Who will take care of you when you live outside? Look at this

face…"

Riley sneered in her heart. Mother-in-law's indirect accusation was a high-level trick.

"I'm fine. You don't have to worry. I'm an adult, and I know how to take care of my life." Euan's tone was

a little impatient.

Hendrix deliberately came closer to look at Euan, "Brother's face is rosy and lustrous, and his condition

is still good. I see that sister-in-law has taken good care of Brother."

Anika did not directly speak after him but moved her view to Riley, "I don't care how you are in the

hospital, but back home, your husband is all you have. If you have the effort to take care of those

patients in the hospital, why don't you stay at home and take care of your man."

Euan frowned, "Today is Hendrix's first day back home. Mom, don't focus on the wrong things."

Was he speaking for her?

Riley pursed her lips. In front of her mother-in-law, she originally had little position, and now that Euan

had lost weight because he was sick, the first one to be blamed was of course her.

"Mom, recently Euan worked too hard. Every day he works overtime in the office, and he was home

from work late at night. He returned too late, and the reheated meal will affect the taste. The meal also

became less nutritious. Next time, I will wait for him to come back home before cooking so that the

meal is fresher."

Riley made things up to praise Euan's dedication to his career and also to conceal the fact that the two

of them lived apart. The main reason was to win a round in front of her mother-in-law.

As she said, Anika couldn't pick a fault and just answered yes with a cold look.

Euan's lips inadvertently pursed. ‘You were really good at lying.’

Hendrix couldn't stop praising, "Brother is blessed! You married a good wife!"

The food was already on the table, and they sat down. After they sat down, Anika suddenly continued

the conversation, seemingly unintentional but targeted at someone else.

"You say your sister-in-law is a good wife? If she is a good wife, they are married for three years, but

why she didn’t give birth a child?"

Riley suddenly felt the chopsticks were too heavy to hold the food, so she had to put them down.

Hendrix smilingly picked a piece of broccoli onto Anika's plate, "Mother, you don't understand it. Now,

many foreign couples that have married for many years do not want children. Brother and sister-in-law

only married for three years, don't you let them enjoy the world of two?"

Anika looked askance at Hendrix, "Hendrix, what benefits did you get from your Brother, or were you

bewitched? Hmph, whether she doesn't want to have a baby or she simply can't have one. It's two

different things!"

Euan spoke slowly with a low voice, "Hendrix, you like to eat hairtails, and these are East Sea hairtails.

They are fresher and more tender than foreign fish; try more."

"Thank you, Brother. Sister-in-law, you shall eat too."

The skin on Riley's face was so tight that she couldn't smile. She tried to squeeze her eyes, "Alright."

Anika taunted, "None of the dishes on the table can help with pregnancy. If you are considerate, as a

doctor, don't you know all these? What is the use of eating more if the actual problem is not solved?"

Riley could not help but grit her teeth. Every time she came, Anika never showed her good attitude,

and today in front of her brother-in-law, she was even more aggressive.

Jakub said in a clear and cold voice, "Enough, have the meal."

Anika didn't want to stop. She turned and asked, "Euan, are you still in contact with the girl from the

Saunders family? The one named Lydia."

Riley's back obviously tensed up, and she looked at Euan with alertness. Lydia, this name like a taboo

between them, was said by Anika so smoothly and naturally.

Euan said while eating, "Yes, she recently had to endorse a product of the company."

Anika tilted her upper body, and her face was full of smiles, "Lydia is still single, right? She is well-

behaved and thoughtful, and I like her. If only…" she glanced at Riley, "it wouldn't be like this now!"

Riley clenched her teeth; she had the urge to put down her chopsticks and leave!

Hendrix saw Riley's every move. In just a few minutes of contact, he had understood the status of his

sister-in-law in the George family. He could not help but sneer in his heart. The George family, heh!

"Mother, the lyrics goes like that. The one you can not obtain is always in desire, the one you favored is

always spoiled . Brother married the sister-in-law, and sister-in-law is the best then. If the girl named

Lydia came to our family, she might not be what you thought of." NôvelDrama.Org: text © owner.

Anika fiercely stared at Hendrix, "Your study abroad is just to learn these nonsenses? I do not know

what is spoiled; I only know that some people should not have appeared!"

She hit the nail on the head, and even the previous cover-ups were taken off. Anika's disgust for Riley

was clearly revealed.

The table was silent for a moment, and Riley quietly looked at Euan. She thought he would say

something, but no. His silence was like a hand pushing her into the abyss ruthlessly.

Anika continued to sneer, "Also, the business of the Watson family has been doing badly again

recently, right? Hmph, are you planning to lend some money again?"

Riley's fist was clenched under the table. She felt the pain in her whole body.

Hendrix also did not dare to speak again.

Euan put down his chopsticks, "Don't talk about business on the dinner table. Also, the Watson family's

business has nothing to do with the George family, and even more so with you."

Jakub raised his eyes, and his sharp eyes looked at Euan, "So, you don't intend to assist when

something happens to the Watson family?"

Euan wiped the corner of his mouth and prepared to leave the table, "Right."

Riley's heart completely fell into the bottom!
