Mated to my sister’s ugly mate

When “Alpha Dominic” caught wind of Shadow’s words, there was a flicker of surprise in his eyes. He studied her intently, but simply murmured, “Let’s go.”

Shadow trailed behind him, her face displaying a myriad of conflicting emotions.

Emotions had a way of commanding people’s actions. She no longer despised Alpha Dominic; instead, she felt grateful and even admired him. If only he wasn’t Alpha Kilian’s cousin and if she hadn’t married Alpha Kilian…

But then they were back to square one.

If she hadn’t married Alpha Kilian, she wouldn’t have the chance to be in contact with “Alpha Dominic” for the rest of her life.

It was an unsolvable predicament. Fate played such a cruel joke, and yet there was nothing she could do about it.

The two of them climbed into the car. Suddenly, “Alpha Dominic” questioned her, “How do you intend to retrieve that black card?”

Shadow smiled, her eyes gleaming. “I will find a way, of course.”

“Are you not afraid Alpha Kilian will pursue this matter?” “Alpha Dominic” probed quietly.

“If he wanted to pursue it, he would have accused me last night,” Shadow’s smile gradually faded. “He is magnanimous. Naturally, I want to return that card to him.”

Initially, she thought Alpha Kilian gifting her the black card was his way of accepting her position.

Now it seemed that he simply didn’t care about the black card.

Alpha Kilian caught onto the keyword in her words: return.

When he gave her the phone before, he claimed it was bought by “Alpha Kilian”. Only then did she gladly accept it.

When he gave her the black card, she not only didn’t want it, but she even returned it to Alpha Kilian.

Alpha Kilian had urged her to keep the black card safe. In fact, she even swiped it once.

Previously, she had eagerly accepted everything Alpha Kilian bestowed upon her.

But now, she desired to return the black card to Alpha Kilian.

Alpha Kilian was not pleased by this realization; instead, his expression darkened.

Hazel had made a fortune from her acting career, but she found it difficult to spend it.

Every time she went shopping, she would spend hundreds of thousands, occasionally even a million.

Even though Shadow had a contrasting spending mentality compared to Hazel, she believed that girls who earned their own money could spend it as they pleased.

The two of them spent the entire day shopping. As evening approached, Shadow insisted they have an early dinner before parting ways.

Upon returning to the villa, Shadow noticed “Alpha Dominic” the moment she stepped inside.

“Have you had dinner? If not, I could whip something up right now.” She had been looking forward to cooking for “Alpha Dominic”, hence her haste in coming back.

It was merely six o’clock in the evening.

“Alpha Dominic” glanced up, the expression on his face indicating his flattery.

He cleared his throat, feigning seriousness as he responded, “I haven’t eaten yet.”

The bodyguard involuntarily twitched. He refrained from divulging that Young Madame just returned from the Golden Fountain Club after dinner.

After Shadow finished cooking, she loaded a plate onto a tray and instructed the bodyguard to deliver it to Alpha Kilian.

“Alpha Dominic” hadn’t eaten, so Alpha Kilian surely hadn’t either.

She then retreated to her room.

Alpha Kilian sat at the table, gazing at the meticulously prepared dishes. He questioned the bodyguard who poured him a glass of water. “Do you think Young Madame has changed?”

The bodyguard pondered this, then responded candidly, “In the past, whenever Young Madame returned, she would always inquire about whether the young master was home. But she didn’t ask today.”

The “Young Master” the bodyguard referred to was not himself, but rather Alpha Kilian – someone whose face had yet to be revealed.

Upon hearing this, the bodyguard realized his words weren’t clear enough, prompting him to clarify, “I mean, the young master I’m referring to isn’t you, but that other young master.”

Despite the lengthy explanation, the bodyguard believed his words only grew more complicated.

“I understand. You can leave now,” Alpha Kilian interrupted him, signaling for him to depart.

The following day was Monday.

Shadow rose early in the morning, meticulously applying her makeup.

When she descended the stairs, Frank had already been waiting for her.

Shadow surveyed her surroundings, yet “Alpha Dominic” was nowhere to be found. She approached Frank and said, “I’ve already troubled you enough during this period. I’ll take a car and head to work.”

Frank nodded. “Alright.”

It wasn’t any trouble at all, truth be told. He deemed it the easiest task, accompanying Young Madame to and from work each day.

After Shadow left, Alpha Kilian, who stood on the second-floor landing and witnessed it all, descended the stairs slowly.

“Young Master,” Frank respectfully acknowledged him. He knew that Alpha Kilian had heard everything and opted against offering further explanation.

Alpha Kilian glanced toward the door, a smile creeping onto his face. “Let her do as she pleases.”

Initially, he believed Shadow would uncover his true identity. Little did he expect her to deliberately distance herself from Alpha Kilian.

Shadow summoned a car and arrived at Eden Group.Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

As she stepped out of the vehicle and positioned herself by the entrance, her radiant face emanated an icy coldness, her eyes brimming with confidence.

She had been fortunate enough to make her return.

Shadow lifted her foot and began walking toward the door, garnering the attention of passing staff members. She was met with numerous sidelong glances.

They all sensed that Shadow appeared different today. Although she retained her captivating beauty, they couldn’t help but feel that something had changed about her.

One colleague from the marketing department who was acquainted with Shadow walked past and greeted her, “Shadow, good morning.”

“Good morning,” Shadow turned her head and smiled at the person who spoke.

Her beautiful eyes curved into crescent moons, her lips painted red, and her fair complexion unmatched in perfection.

The individuals nearby were momentarily stupefied. After a few seconds, they finally snapped out of it and returned her smile.

The group of people entered the elevator, chatting amongst themselves. Shadow engaged in conversation with them. “How did everyone spend the weekend? Did you all go out?”

“I took the child to the amusement park.”

“I went out last weekend with my boyfriend.”

“Ah, so that’s why there are so many love bites on your neck! I thought it was from mosquitoes!”

“What nonsense are you speaking?”

Laughter filled the elevator as they engaged in light banter. Shadow refrained from joining in, merely smiling as she pressed the elevator button.

However, the elevator doors closed and promptly reopened.

Jessica entered, and with her arrival, the jovial atmosphere dissipated, leaving the elevator eerily silent.

Shadow had been the first one to step into the elevator, positioning herself in the corner behind the others. Jessica raised her chin, casting a haughty glance at the occupants. It took her a moment to realize Shadow’s presence.

It felt as though she had come face-to-face with a terrifying monster. Jessica stumbled backward, nearly losing her balance. Clinging onto the handrail, she stared wide-eyed at Shadow, gasping, “What are you doing here?”

Awakening to her surroundings, Jesscia hastily regained her composure and feigned nonchalance. “Shadow, you’re here early today.”

Shadow gazed intently at Jessica and uttered in a soft, faint voice, laced with a smile, “Good morning, big sister.”

At that moment, the elevator was ascending, encompassed in an unusual silence. Shadow’s voice, despite not being loud, reverberated within the confined space, evoking a strange sensation.
