Chapter 481: Cute Little Babies-II
Chapter 481: Cute Little Babies-II
Natalie was desperately waiting to see her babies, fighting the sleep taking over her.
"Natalie, just close your eyes and rest," Justin said in a coaxing voice. "Once the babies are here, I will wake you up."
"I don’t trust you," she retorted, knowing he would just let her sleep. "Your overbearing care towards me might keep me deprived of seeing my own babies."
Justin couldn’t deny it and kept quiet. What’s bad in caring for her more?
After a while, the babies were brought to their mother. The nurses held them for her, allowing her to take a good look. The babies were wrapped in soft clothes from head to toe, only leaving their faces exposed. Both of them were in deep sleep after they were fed well.
There was a wide smile on Natalie’s lips as she said, "My babies!" Her voice held the amusement of seeing the little ones. "They are ugly and wrinkly, but still so cute," she couldn’t help feeling overwhelmed. "Totally worth going through nine months of trouble to give birth to them."
Others could only smile at her reaction.
She looked at Caryn and asked, "Mom, was I ugly like this as well?"
Caryn smiled and nodded. "All babies are like this. But you’ll see the good change after a few days."
Natalie let out a sigh. "Thank God. They will grow up as beautiful as me then." And she looked at Justin. "And beautiful like you as well."
Justin cleared his throat awkwardly at being called beautiful. But then, whatever she said was fine at this moment. He wouldn’t risk upsetting her.
"I can’t tell which one is the boy and which one is the girl?" Natalie said.
The nurse told her, "This little one is a boy, and this one is a girl." noveldrama
"Aww!" Natalie couldn’t help but admire her own babies as if she had never seen or carried one.
Natalie looked at Justin. "Do you need an invitation to hold your own babies?"
Justin had his eyes on the little ones. There was this strange, overwhelming feeling in his chest which he couldn’t quite understand. At her words, he finally came back to his senses.
A nurse held one baby in front of Justin. "Mr. Handrix, you can hold the baby."
His heart almost skipped a beat as he looked at the baby so closely, and then said, "I might not be able to hold it properly." He was worried he might hurt the baby in case he didn’t hold her right.
"You can," Caryn said. "Try it."
Natalie urged him as well, and finally, he held the baby girl. The moment he held her entirely—a tiny body in his strong arms with the slight support of his chest—it was like his entire world had turned upside down.
His senses felt like they went numb and his chest felt stuffed. So overwhelmed that it was impossible to explain. The only thought that came to his mind was—my daughter.
Holding her felt like an experience he could never explain, his gaze unwilling to leave that tiny, peaceful face of hers.
Everyone watched him, as they could see what was happening to him, and stayed quiet to let him absorb the emotions.
Meanwhile, Natalie looked at her son as she held him.
Later others held the babies as well before the nurses placed them in the crib. The baby was passed around while Justin didn’t let go of his daughter.
He could smell that sweet scent coming from her and couldn’t help but inhale it deeply. Nothing like he had experienced before, it just amazing and made him feel so calm and at peace.
Everyone looked at him. "Seems like we are not getting to hold her anytime soon."
Natalie creased her brows as she said, "Why am I feeling threatened all of a sudden? It feels like I am going to lose my value because of my own daughter."
Other could only laugh at her reaction.
Justin was unwilling to give away the baby, but he had to, to let them sleep peacefully.
"I though they would be crying a lot. But they are so sweet and quiet," Natalie said as she looked at the crib by the bed side.
"Just wait for a while. You will be pulling our your hair later," Caryn commented.
It almost scared Natalie, "Will it be that bad?"
Caryn chuckled, "Don’t worry. We all will help you with it."
The mother and the babies were left to sleep while others had to leave. Justin stayed by Natalie side, often walking around the crib and glancing at the babies for long.
He knelt next to crib and observed them both. They looked exactly same, and so adorable while sleeping. He was sure he would be able to tell the difference soon.
He touched both of their cheeks, gently caressing with his fingers as if he was touching the feather. His eyes, carried the emotions he had never felt before. The sight, he didn’t wish to leave.

During the day, others started to come visit the baby. Serena didn’t come to the hospital as she hated hospitals and they gave her anxiety attacks. It was normal, given her painful days in the hospital.
As the three old women settled in the room, Natalie asked, "Who’s accompanying my mother-in-law if you three are here? Will she be alright?"
"Aaron and Meira are there. Aaron is handling some urgent matter, so Meira offered to be by her side," Marina replied. "The little girl wanted to come see the babies, but then seeing our excitement, she decided to let us go first."
"She is indeed thoughtful," Natalie replied.
"Where is Aiden?" Marina asked.
Natalie frowned, "We had to force him to go home for a while and rest. He wasn’t ready to leave, as if he is the one who gave birth and needs to stay in the hospital."
The three women laughed at her remark and then engrossed themselves in admiring the babies.
