Married at First Sight

Chapter 4460

Married at First Sight [On-Going]

"I've been so busy lately I haven't had time to go back and visit Grandma," Serenity said.

"She's doing okay overall, but she's getting older. Like most elderly folks, she has some health issues. The family doctor checks her regularly and gives her medicine to help her recover."noveldrama

She sighed lightly. "But these days, Grandma's becoming more and more like a child. She refuses to take her medicine, so I have to coax her every day. When she found out I was coming to Eaglioncile, she wanted to come with me, but your big brother talked her out of it. She's not as strong as she used to be." Serenity wished the old lady could live a long, healthy life-like Mr. Jimenez, who passed away just after turning 100. That was what you called a peaceful passing. "Grandma's worried about your love life," Serenity added. "She says she doesn't have the energy anymore to go around looking for wives for her grandsons. She picked out wives for your six older brothers, but she didn't get to do it for you, or for the eighth and ninth. She said if you three don't get married, she won't be able to rest easy—even after she's gone to see Grandpa."

“She told me, and so did my second uncle and aunt, to talk to you directly. You're 31 now. It's time to think about your future. Isn't there anyone suitable in

Eaglioncile? Second Aunt said the girl doesn't have to come from a big family. As long as she's decent and kind, that's enough."

"We set up blind dates for you, but you always say you're too busy to show up.” As the eldest sister-in-law, Serenity cared deeply about her brothers-in-law and their futures.

Out of the nine York brothers, only three were still single. River was already 31, and even Zachary had gotten married at 30.

River smiled and said, "Sister-in-law, marriage is all about fate. Mine just hasn't come yet. I'll tell Grandma that when I meet the right girl, I'll get married. She already has a great-grandson, and now a great-granddaughter too. She doesn't have to worry anymore."

Serenity ordered a coffee. After it arrived, she took a few sips before setting it down. "It's not about great-grandkids anymore. Grandma just feels bad for you. She's afraid that by the time you're ready to settle down, she'll be too old to help you find someone."

"I don't blame Grandma," River said with a relaxed smile. "Tell her not to worry. If I'm still single at 35, you can help pick my wife. As long as she's a good woman and you all approve, I'll marry her."

River truly believed his sisters-in-law had his best interest at heart. If they helped him find a wife, she'd definitely be someone with a good character.

He wasn't concerned about falling in love right away. A respectful and steady marriage was still a good life.

Maybe they'd fall in love after getting married-just like Zachary and Serenity. They didn't fall in love before marriage, but now, years later with two kids, they were still as in love as when it all began.

Plenty of women had tried to interfere in Zachary and Serenity's marriage, but none succeeded. Zachary only had eyes for his wife.

River believed he'd be the same. Once the men of the York family got married, they were in it for life. No second thoughts. No regrets.
