Married At First Glance: I Am Not Ugly

Remarry (Epilogue)

“Thank you.” she said to Jessie, who was sitting next to her in the hospital bed. “You saved my life.”

Jessie smiled, her eyes shining with tears. “You would have done the same for me.” she said. “We’re friends after all.”

Marissa smiled and nodded.

“Yes, we are.”

The next few days were a blur for Marissa. She spent most of her time in the hospital, recovering from her ordeal and trying to process everything that had happened. She was grateful to be alive, but she couldn’t help but feel like something had changed inside her.

Alexander stayed by her side until she was released from the hospital. Jaime was sentenced to jail for assault and attempted murder, and Marissa couldn’t help but feel relieved that he was off the streets and unable to hurt anyone else.

After she was discharged, she and Alexander decided to go and pay her brother a visit in the hospital.

When they got there, Marissa introduced Alexander to her brother and her brother to Alexander.

“Alexander, this is my lovely brother Samuel Preah and Sam, this is Alexander Shim, my fiance.” she introduced.

Marissa’s brother, who was sitting on the hospital bed, smiled and shook Alexander’s hand.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Alexander.” Sam said, his voice hoarse but full of warmth. “I’ve heard a lot about you from Marissa.”

“And I’ve heard a lot about you from Marissa.” Alexander replied, smiling at the two of them. “She speaks very highly of you.”

Sam chuckled. “I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing,” he said. “I’m sure she’s told you all my embarrassing stories.”

“She has, but I won’t hold them against you.” Alexander said, laughing along with him.

“How’s the recovery going?” Alexander asked, turning serious. “How are you feeling?”

Sam sighed. “It’s been tough, but I’m getting there,” he said. “The doctors say I should be out of the hospital in a few weeks.”

“That’s great news.” Alexander said, smiling. “It must be nice to know that you’ll be able to go home soon.”

Sam nodded. “It is, and honestly, I can’t wait to return to school and be free to play and be with my school mates again.”

“That’s the spirit.” Alexander said, clapping him on the shoulder. “You’re going to be back to your old self in no time.”Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.

Sam grinned. “That’s the plan.” he said. “And then I’ll beat you at basketball.”

Alexander looked at him with a surprise expression.

“Yeah, my sister told me that you love basketball and other cool games. So let’s play basketball when I get out of the hospital.” Sam said.

“But I’m sure that I’m gonna beat you.”

Alexander laughed. “You’re on.” he said. “But you’ll have to get past me first.”

The two of them bantered back and forth for a while, and Marissa couldn’t help but smile. It was good to see her brother in such good spirits, even though he was still recovering from a serious illness.

“It’s wonderful to see how well you’re doing, Sam.” Marissa said, her eyes shining with pride. “I’m so proud of you.”

Sam ducked his head, suddenly shy. “Thanks, sis.” he said, his cheeks turning pink. “I’m glad I’m doing well too. And I’m especially glad that you’re here.”

“Me too.” Marissa said, reaching out to squeeze his hand. “I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.”

The three of them sat there for a while, talking and laughing. It was a moment of pure joy,

Few weeks later, Marissa was in the dressing room preparing to get married to Alexander.

Her makeup artist was doing their work on her face as she smiled to herself. She and Alexander had been through so much in the past few months and everything brought them closer together and now they are officially gonna tie the knot in the presence of everyone who was part of their journey to each other.

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door. Marissa’s heart started pounding in her chest. Could it be him? Was he early?

“Come in!” she called, her voice wavering slightly.

The door opened and Marissa’s breath caught in her throat. It was him. Alexander stood there, looking at her with such love and adoration that it took her breath away. He was dressed in a sharp suit, and he looked more handsome than she’d ever seen him.

“Hello, Mrs. Shim.” he said, a smile playing on his lips.

Marissa felt a blush rising to her cheeks. “Don’t call me that yet.” she said, her voice a little shaky. “We’re not married until we say our vows.”

Alexander laughed. “You’re right.” he said. “Forgive me. Hello, soon-to-be Mrs. Shim.”

Marissa couldn’t help but laugh. “You’re incorrigible.” she said, shaking her head. “I’m never going to be able to keep you in line.”

“That’s the way I like it.” Alexander said, winking at her.

Marissa rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t help but smile. She loved his playful side. It was one of the things that had first drawn her to him. He was always making her laugh, even in the darkest of times.

“Are you ready?” he asked, holding out his hand to her.

“As ready as I’ll ever be.” Marissa said, taking his hand and standing up. Her heart was pounding in her chest, but it wasn’t from fear. It was from excitement. She couldn’t wait to start her life with him.

The wedding ceremony was beautiful, and Marissa felt like she was floating on air as she said her vows. She looked into Alexander’s eyes as she pledged her love to him, and she saw the same love reflected back at her. They were truly soulmates, destined to be together.

As they kissed, Marissa felt like the luckiest woman in the world. She couldn’t wait to start their life together. And as they walked down the aisle as husband and wife, Marissa knew that this was just the beginning of their story.

The end.
