Need you
If totaled, it was now the seventh day that Anne and Noah were undergoing interrogations related to the case involving Valentino Guzman. Who knew how much longer she would stay at the AISE headquarters in Rome, Italy.
Today, even after their questioning, Anne met Valentino for the first time. The man, with his hands and feet shackled, was asked to answer some questions from investigators about the cases involving him.
“It’s pointless, I’ll never answer your questions. Whether I answer or not, my punishment remains the same,” the man remarked sarcastically. The investigators had difficulty extracting information from the highest-ranking figure of the Sicilian group.
“Because there’s no denial of all the accusations against you, that means you’re ready to accept any consequences that the Supreme Court decides,” one of the officers said.
Valentino looked up, maintaining a meaningful smile. It was as if there was an implicit meaning behind his expression.
“I’ve said it before, I don’t care. Moreover, this arrest means nothing to me.”
Noah, standing behind the investigators, felt annoyed. Tired of hearing the man who had once been a target of his investigations talk, he reached for Anne’s arm, intending to lead her out of the room.
“Dovresti stare attento, Masseli.”
Noah immediately turned towards Valentino upon hearing this warning in Italian from the middle-aged man. “I’m not afraid of you, Don Valentino,” he raised an eyebrow. Fearlessly, he retorted, “Dare to disturb my family again, and I’ll be the one to send you to hell!” His voice emphasized with resolve.
Noah ignored Valentino’s loud laughter and continued to guide Anne out of the room.
“What did the old man just say?” Anne asked as she walked slowly down the corridor of the AISE building.
“Nothing,” Noah replied without looking back. “He’s just warning us to stay cautious.”
“Is it a threat?”
Noah stopped in his tracks. He turned to his right, placing his hands on Anne’s shoulders as he spoke softly.
“No need to be scared or worried. I promise I won’t let Valentino harm our family.”
Anne nodded, trusting in what Noah conveyed. Before resuming their steps, an Italian agent they both knew approached. He handed a file directly to Noah.
“Here are the investigation results that we’ve summarized in hardcopy form. You can take it to the MI6 headquarters immediately.”
Noah was taken aback by this news. He even confirmed what he had just heard.
“What do you mean, our assignment in Italy is finished?”
The agent nodded.
“Today, AISE will escort both of you back to London. So, get ready.”
A bright smile immediately lit up Anna Maria’s lovely face. She continued to smile. This meant that she would soon be able to reunite with Kaivan, her husband.
“I didn’t expect the investigation process to be completed so quickly,” Noah said to Anne as he packed their belongings before heading home.
“Hey, in your opinion, how long do you think we’ll be at MI6 headquarters? I can’t wait to see Kaivan.”
“Definitely not as many days as in Italy. Once your phone is returned by AISE, you can contact Kaivan right away.”
Anne shook her head. She disagreed with Noah’s suggestion.Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
“No, I want to give Kaivan a little surprise. I’ll meet him in person at the hotel once everything is settled.”
Noah chuckled softly, agreeing with his sister’s plan.
“Suit yourself. When you’re done packing, we can leave now.”
Escorted by several Italian agents, Noah and Anne departed for London using a special plane belonging to the Italian intelligence. After flying for over two hours, they finally arrived and headed straight to MI6 headquarters in Vauxhall Cross.
This headquarters stood strong not far from the River Thames in London. Tight security was evident as they entered the building. The impressive structure even employed three layers of defense to ward off attacks from bombs and rockets.
“Welcome, Mr. Noah and Mrs. Anna Maria. You both are awaited by several investigators in the interrogation room.”
Apparently, upon their arrival in London, the intelligence agency didn’t allow them to rest for a moment. The siblings were immediately taken to a room to provide their statements.
Anne underwent nearly four hours of questioning. After obtaining all the necessary information, MI6 allowed her to leave the room.
“We’ve gathered all the evidence and important statements from witnesses and agents. Since everything aligns with what we needed, you’re free to go and rest.”
Anne was taken aback. She didn’t expect to hear this news. She thought it would take one to three days to complete all the investigations.
However, her assumptions were wrong. In less than 24 hours, she was already allowed to leave. That meant she could reunite with Kaivan as soon as possible.
“If you need security escort, our security team is ready to accompany you at any time until you reach your destination.”
Anne nodded multiple times, agreeing with what MI6 offered. Before leaving, she bid farewell to Giorgino and Noah, who were still completing their tasks at the headquarters.
“Be careful, let us know when you arrive at the hotel. Give my regards to your husband.”
“I’ll definitely convey this message to Kaivan.” She then hugged her father and brother in turn. After bidding farewell, Anne quickly entered the car, ready to visit Kaivan at the hotel.
Upon arriving at the Four Seasons, Mike, who was roaming the hotel, was surprised and immediately welcomed Anne. Enthusiastically, the young man guided his boss’s wife to their room.
“Mr. Kaivan will be delighted to see your arrival, Madam.”
Anne smiled, thanking Mike for his assistance.
“You’re welcome. If that’s the case, I’ll take my leave now. Please rest. I’m available 24/7 if you need anything.”
After Mike left, Anne decided to enter the room. She walked cautiously, gently turning the doorknob. Upon entering, she saw how her husband was sleeping soundly.
Anne was tempted to approach him and give him a hug, but she decided not to disturb him. Instead, she walked slowly towards the walk-in closet. She changed her clothes and then headed back to the bed. Slowly pulling back the covers, she lay down, facing Kaivan.
For a while, Anne gazed at the peaceful face of the man sleeping before her. All the longing that had been held back now surged. It was replaced by a joyful smile because she could finally reunite with the man who was her husband.
“I missed you, Kai.”
