Love's Redemption

Redmption 349

Redmption 349

I knew that Jewel wouldn't drink the herbicide. She had come this far because she wanted to live a luxurious life. If she could endure that humiliation at the hospital, then there was no way she would give

up now.

It was her trying to pressure Bree to reveal Chris' whereabouts.

Jewel thought Zack and Bree were hiding Chris, wanting to sabotage their relationship.

"Ms. Massey, you really have a knack for drama," I said as I walked in.

Upon hearing my voice, Bree turned around, her face laced with alarm. I knew she was worried that I would misunderstand why Jewel was around. Jewel, on the other hand, didn't seem surprised.

She had to have seen me coming. Despite that, I could tell that she was nervous. Otherwise, her hand wouldn't be shaking as she reached for the herbicide.

Jewel quickly put on a pitiful expression.

"I had no other choice. Chris is missing, and I can't reach him at all. Madeline, you can see that I'm at my

wit's end."

She was playing the victim again, but I wasn't buying it.

Toffered a faint smile and gestured toward the bottle in her hand.

"Ms. Massey, isn't your escape route right there in your hand?"

Jewel's expression darkened. It was just as I had suspected. She wasn't going to actually drink the herbicide. It was just a tactic for her to manipulate Bree. There was no one more shameless than Jewel,

"Madeline, I know you want me gone. But if I'm going down, Chris has to at least show up and say something," Jewel insisted.

She was determined to see Chris.

"Jewel, if you want to see him, then go look for him. But he's not here."

I stood before her.

She was sitting, and I was standing. Our height difference forced her to look up at me.

Jewel moved back slightly, but her expression remained stubborn.

"If I could find him, I wouldn't be here."

"Then, did you find him here?" I leaned closer as I asked.

Jewel opened her mouth, but she couldn't say a word.

"Jewel, what would Chris think if he knew that you were here, bothering his parents?"

As I spoke, panic flickered across Jewel's eyes.

But she quickly replied, stammering, "I... I had no other choice. If I had any other way, I wouldn't be here." "That's not true. You've been itching to come here, to walk through that door and solidify your position."

I didn't hold back, directly exposing her motive.

Jewel widened her eyes, the panic in them becoming more obvious.

"Jewel, you think you're clever, don't you? Do you think that no one can see your real intentions?"

She swallowed hard.

"I... I don't know what you're talking about."

"Oh, you don't? Then, let me lay it out for you. You were in love with lan, but he was just an ordinary guy with an average salary.

"Chris, on the other hand, is loaded. Ian's paycheck is peanuts compared to him. The two of them were best friends.

"lan was devoted to you. He took you to all those fancy places, letting you bask in the luxury. But you realized lan could never satisfy your materialistic cravings. You started looking down on him, didn't you?" Jewel shook her head, trying to deny everything I said, but I didn't stop. I was going to expose her for what she truly was and show her that she wasn't as smart as she thought she was.

"But lan was so good to you that you couldn't bring yourself to break up or leave him. You knew the only way to live the life you wanted was through Chris. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

“So, you followed lan around, using every chance you got to catch Chris' attention. You wanted to make him fall for you bit by bit. Isn't that right?" "That's not true!"

Jewel trembled intensely, barely holding onto the bottle.

"If it's not, then why are you panicking?"

I leaned in closer, my voice dropping to a whisper near her ear.

"I bet lan's car crash was no accident at all. Someone must've planned it. Isn't that right?"

As soon as the words left my mouth, Jewel let out a scream and forcefully pushed me away.
