Chapter 64
Lola wasn’t Lola anymore.
She was Layla, the true and real Layla,
It was because there was now no longer a person named Dominick in her heart.
Now, there was only Scott in Layla’s heart. In her memory, there was only Scott, her childhood sweetheart with whom she grew up.
“Scott, thank you for finding me. When can I go home?” Lola looked at him, puzzled.
The last memory Scott left her with was of him going to great lengths to find her and bring her back..
That was also his own selfish desire.
Lola woke up in Scott’s house feeling somewhat shy. But then Scott told her she had fallen ill and passed out, which was why she was temporarily staying at his place.
As the day turned to night, she thought about how her parents must be worried if she didn’t return home soon.
However, Scott thought, “I haven’t had the chance to speak with Layla’s parents yet. If I let her go back now, they surely would get emotional, which could affect Layla, If she asks any questions, it’s going to be hard to explain.”
“Stay at home and wait for me. I planned to surprise you with something very important I want to give you,” he said softly.
Lola’s eyes widened with the joy of a little girl. “Really? What are you planning to give me?”
Scott ruffled her hair as if coaxing a child. “You’ll find out later. Just stay here and wait for me, okay?”
“Okay,” Lola replied. She trusted Scott completely, so she didn’t doubt his words at all.
Scott then left the villa and stood outside for a long while as if struggling with his own conscience.
Finally, he stood up and decided to go to Silverbrook Tower.
The Silverbrook Tower was situated at the very heart of the Ivory Palace, and the tower was indeed the true castle.
The tower’s courtyard was so large that it could fit four or five football fields, and that was just the tip of the iceberg.
“Mr. Jensen, welcome. Please come in.” The security at the entrance was already familiar with Scott. Upon seeing him, the security directly opened the gate, which was around 10 feet tall, for him,
Scott asked, “Are Mr. and Mrs. Lewis in?”
“Yes, they are.”
Besides the security, there were two butlers stationed at the entrance, specifically assigned to lead guests inside.

Scott was a regular visitor here, so he waved his hand to indicate the butlers didn’t need to accompany him inside.
He walked through a garden and then a long corridor before he fully entered the castle.

Scott then saw a woman in a simple yet elegant dress watering the flowers. Although her attire was modest, and she wore no expensive jewelry, an inherent dignity about her was unmistakable. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
“Mom.” He greeted politely.
Upon hearing Scott’s voice, the woman put down the watering can and turned around with a smile. She looked beautiful and youthful, as if time had not left any marks on her face.
“You’re back. Oh, you’re so thoughtful. Layla
y ever comes home now that she’s all grown up, but you still remember to visit
us.”
Upon hearing Scott arrive, footsteps sounded from upstairs, followed by a voice saying, “Scott, you’re here. Come sit in the pavilion
with us.”
A man who appeared to be in his fifties descended the spiral staircase. Even at home, he was dressed in a suit, looking refined and
proper.
Scott’s expression darkened, and he stood still. “L”
Jasmine Richardson, always observant, noticed something was off. “What’s wrong? Do you have something on your mind?”
Scott had thought long and hard about how to broach the subject on his way here. He had almost figured it out, but when it came time to speak, the words just wouldn’t come out.
“Speak up, you can tell me anything troubling you.” Jasmine always had a gentle and understanding demeanor.
“Mom, Dad, the truth is…the woman I married, my wife, is not Layla. She’s Jenna!” Finally, Scott managed to reveal the truth.
“What?!” Jasmine couldn’t believe her ears. The news was like a bomb thrown into a calm lake, causing ripples of shock.
Even the usually composed President, Mason Lewis, nearly lost his footing upon hearing the news. He steadied himself on the staircase’s handrail as he made his way down.
He asked, “Scott, what do you mean? Could you repeat that? You mean to say the Layla we know now isn’t Layla but Jenna?”

When Ethan found Lola, he hadn’t had the chance to inform the Lewis family, fearing the news would be too much had planned to find the right moment to break it to everyone.
But Scott had beaten Ethan to it.
Jasmine said, “But….Jenna ran away from home over a decade ago, didn’t she? What in the world is going on?”
It seemed she had already come to terms with the situation, having sensed something was off, though she hadn’t expected the truth to be so astounding.
“No wonder… No wonder the Layla who was always so clingy suddenly stopped coming home after getting married. No wonder the

Layla of now gets angry with us so easily. No wonder…” Jasmine collapsed onto the sofa, her eyes welling up with tears, “So…it was Layla who was lost all those years ago, not Jenna!”
Scott narrowed his eyes slightly. “Exactly. And I suspect Layla didn’t run away from home but was taken away. She has suffered a lot over the years, and her mental state is very poor now. When I found her, she was…barely alive.”
Upon hearing that, Jasmine felt as if her heart was being torn apart. She covered her mouth, unable to hold back her emotions, and tears began to fall uncontrollably. Jasmine’s voice choked with emotion as she continued, “So my daughter, Layla, has been suffering all these years outside… Where is she now? Where? I need to see her!”
Mason, who had just come to terms with the situation, suddenly became agitated. “Yes, where is she now? Take me to her right away!”
Scott sighed deeply and gently shook his head. “She’s at my place right now, but now is not the time. You can’t see her just yet.
“When I found Layla, she was unconscious and barely breathing. The doctor said her body is very weak, and she can’t wake up because there’s someone or something in her memory that has caused her great harm.
“If this memory persists, she will remain unconscious, so…I altered her memory.”
Jasmine and Mason listened in shock, but their expressions froze upon hearing the last part.
One of them then asked, “Altered her memory? I remember that’s forbidden…and no one has ever succeeded before. What if there are side effects?”
Scott was well aware of the potential consequences of his actions.
He replied, “But what’s more important than Layla’s life? Nothing. So, I had no choice but to do it. She couldn’t wait any longer!
“Layla’s body is still weak, and now she has some gaps in her memory. I told her that I found her and that she had been taken in by a family.”
While Scott didn’t know who Lola had forgotten or what she had forgotten, for caution’s sake, he preferred to keep things simple when it came to past events.
This method was unstable, and he didn’t want Lola to regain her previous memories.
“Alright, Scott did the right thing. What could be more important than Layla’s life? Quickly, bring her over!” Jasmine wiped her tears and excitedly said, “It’s good she can come back, that’s all that matters!”
