Love Redux: Fated to the Handsome Doctor

Part 73 # Andre Takes Action

Seno grinned. The doctor’s response was completely unexpected.

“You know, Doc? There are two types of people who can achieve success in the blink of an eye,” he said suddenly.

“Where is this conversation going?” Miriam stared at Seno sharply. She wasn’t looking to be reprimanded. Miriam realized that her obsession with Andre had gone beyond bounds. But, she couldn’t just prevent her heart’s desire.

“I can offer advice and also… action. Which one do you choose?” Seno began to give Miriam options so she wouldn’t casually join his alliance. Seno had to test her first. If Miriam passed, then, success or whatever it was would be within her grasp.

“Acaction.” Miriam answered hesitantly. She didn’t know what Seno would offer her.

“You’re a doctor, you know! Isn’t it a problem to ally with a businessman like me? And… of course, not for free!” Seno finally began to reveal his bad intentions.

“What’s the payment?”NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.

“Your authority as one of the hospital owners and also… Lara’s love rival. How about that?” The man started to approach Miriam. This time, there were only two people with opposite burning obsessions within them.

Seno with wealth and riches, while Miriam… with love and also her obsession.

“I’m willing.” Miriam didn’t hesitate to answer. As she believed, all or nothing. To win Andre’s love or destroy it. That’s the only choice left.

“Good! We can start signing the partnership contract then,” Seno snapped his fingers. A scantily dressed woman immediately responded to the signal with a red folder in hand.

“Does it have to be like this?” Miriam widened her eyes. She didn’t know that Seno was so meticulous.

“Ah, this is just a confidentiality document. I am a businessman, Doc. Of course, I always have to be cautious, right?” Seno explained, making Miriam nod her head instantly.

“Okay.”

The woman quickly took the pen offered and carefully read the document she was about to sign. A confidentiality agreement. Indeed, that’s it. Miriam didn’t mind putting her signature on the provided blank space.

“See you later, Doctor. All further discussions will be held separately.”

“Alright. Thank you, Sir.” Miriam got up from her seat. Before she left completely, Seno whispered something in her ear.

“You should change your perfume if you want to win a man. Make it more sensual. No man refuses sex, Doctor.”

“Whwhat?” Miriam’s hair stood on end instantly. Seno just smiled and nodded to escort Miriam out. She felt awkward and thought that her fashion sense and taste were perfectly fine. Why would Seno give such advice?

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Mahya’s room looked crowded. Two people claiming to be guardians shouted and demanded an explanation as to why there were two police personnel stationed there.

“Mahya is the victim, Sir!” exclaimed the yellow-haired woman with heavy makeup claiming to be Mahya’s superior.

“It’s impossible for Mahya to drive while drunk!” a big man who seemed similar to the woman chimed in.

The two police personnel guarding Mahya’s room remained silent. They refused to provide further explanation.

“The investigation process is ongoing. We are here to prevent the possibility of the suspect fleeing from charges. Please understand,” one of the officers explained.

“No! We don’t understand!” rejected the woman who had been getting worked up since earlier. But, the man by her side quickly calmed his seemingly out-of-control sister.

“Calm down, Carol. Mahya will get the best lawyer. You don’t have to worry.”

“But, Bro!”

“Enough. I don’t want this matter to get more complicated.”

“What’s going on here?” A doctor seemed to interrupt the commotion. The two who had been grumbling looked a little calmer. “You…?”

“I’m Doctor Andre. Aren’t you Carol from Channel Insight?” Andre tried to remember. He had seen the yellow-haired woman with Mahya during an additional interview some time ago.

“Right! I’m Carol Jackson, Doctor. This is my brother, James.”

“Nice to meet you, Doc. Seems like we met at a reunion?”

“Ah. Yes. The campus reunion of my friend, right?”

“Yes. It was Mahya’s campus, Doc. The patient lying there,” James explained to Andre with a sad expression.

“Let’s go to my office. We can talk there,” Andre offered. Carol and James glanced at each other, but then they nodded and followed Andre’s steps away from Mahya’s treatment room.

“It’s impossible, Doc! Mahya never drinks alcohol!” Carol said, rejecting the accident-causing allegations that almost took her friend’s life.

“Well… Hhh… It’s difficult for me to say too. Someone special to me also became a victim of that accident,” Andre said softly.

“Lara?” Carol guessed. Actually, it wasn’t a guess because Lara was the only passenger in that car. Mahya had told Carol a little about Lara, but Carol didn’t know the details of what they experienced.

“Yes. Her.”

“Isn’t it strange, Doc? How can a victim be declared as the perpetrator? I’m so furious!” Carol ground her teeth. Flames of anger sparked from her eyes.

“I feel the same way. The problem is, there’s no CCTV in the incident area. The street was also deserted. There were no eyewitnesses to support their alibi,” Andre lowered his head. He also didn’t think that Mahya was the perpetrator of the accident.

“There’s something I need to tell you, Doctor,” Carol began to whisper.

James raised his eyebrows. “What’s this about? You’re behaving like a detective, Carol!”

“Brother. This is a secret. I hope… you can keep it. If not, Mahya will kill me!” Carol narrowed her eyes. Her attitude was truly like a key witness in a high-profile case.

“Stop acting weird, Carol! It’s not funny!” James crossed his arms over his chest. Carol sighed in frustration. “I’m not joking, Brother!” she insisted.

“Alright. Now, try to tell us what really happened, Miss Carol?”

Carol began to regulate her breathing, trying to calm herself before speaking.

“Actually, Mahya was investigating a corruption case in Seno Adhijaya’s company. And, it’s related to his ex-wife, Lara.”

“How so? I also don’t understand why Lara suddenly divorced from Seno?”

“This case is more dangerous than suspected. Mahya is indeed an investigative journalist. She managed to investigate several people with her sharp intuition and stubbornness. But, Seno. This time, he really fell, as low as he could go.”

Andre rubbed his temples. James was stunned, not expecting this.

“Why are you still bothering Seno? Huh? Didn’t I tell you to stop that investigation!” James suddenly raised his voice. He then ruffled his hair roughly. James was very upset because Carol and Mahya didn’t listen to his orders.

“Brother… You know Mahya. That girl is very stubborn!”

“Seno is dangerous! He’s more cunning than you all thought! You’re really asking for trouble, Carol!”

“Enough. That’s enough. Now, it seems I understand where the source of this mess is.” Andre finally spoke.

“Do you understand, Doc?” Carol looked at Andre hopefully, remembering that her brother couldn’t be relied on.

“Yes. Leave this matter to me. You two can go.”
