The ballet world took a collective gasp today when it was announced that Nicoló Savini exited his role as lead principal at Romasco Ballet. Savini, who was the youngest dancer ever to be appointed the role at a major company at just seventeen, is not known to have suffered an injury. We revealed on Monday that Savini’s former coach, the legendary Sergio Cina, had died suddenly of what is suspected to be a heart attack. He was 51. Grief is the most likely explanation behind Savini’s unplanned hiatus and shock exit from Romasco, however, it was also recently confirmed that his relationship with Sofia Wynter had ended after a string of infidelity rumours against the ballerino.noveldrama
We certainly hope to see Nico back on the stage soon, though for now, all eyes will turn to his great rival, Felix Taylor-Brooke, who is entering his second year with The London Ballet Company. He’ll lead in the company’s much anticipated production of Don Quixote this summer.
