Chapter 50 Clash Of Gods

“Such a coincidence. Ms. Gatlin, why don’t we just let it go? This necklace on this tablet is also stunning, and Mr. Carter has show his sincerity.”

Vanessa spoke with a pretentious air, but deep down, she was thrilled.

Deteating Mia and making her go home empty–handed would surely bring immense satisfaction to Vanessa.

It was no longer about the necklace but about pride and reputation. If she took the necklace, Mia would lose face completely.

No matter how much compensation Mr. Carter offered, it could not make up for this. How could Vanessa not be delighted?

As she finished speaking. Mia stood up with a smile and said, “Since the brand has made its choice, I accept the loss. There’s nothing more to say.”

Then, she looked deeply at the calm woman in front of her and said again. “Madam, you are very skilled, but your eyesight is not very good.”

The woman smiled and said softly, “When one gets old, many organs stop functioning properly.”

Mia smiled, didn’t even glance at Vanessa, and turned to leave.

“Wait.”

At this moment, Maggie reached out to stop Mia and spoke gently.

Mia turned to look at her and saw her say, “Wait for me. I’ll make a call.”

Seeing this, the elderly woman looked at Maggie more closely, wondering what she was thinking.

Mia leaned in and whispered to Maggie, “Are you going to fight for me? That elderly woman is probably from a prestigious family, not easy to deal with.”

“I know.”

Maggie knew that Mia was right.

The brand’s VIP status largely depends on spending. Given Mia’s extravagant lifestyle, she was definitely a top–tier member.

However, while the brand valued customers‘ purchasing power, it also valued their status. In other words, customers needed to be wealthy and noble.

At the same time, prestigious families with a long history would pass down their consumption power to these brands. Several generations of loyal customers would naturally accumulate a higher status than Mia. All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.

In short, the Gatlins‘ disadvantage was their lack of heritage. Even if Mia spent all the family’s fortune, she would still not be as valuable to the brand as a family with generations of inheritance.

She really couldn’t figure out who Maggie could turn to. Although Maggie had lived a life of envy in recent years, the Camerons didn’t have the ability to settle this matter.

If Mia couldn’t handle it, what could she do? Her consumption of this brand was even less than that of an ordinary washed–up celebrity.

Vanessa wanted to see how Maggie would handle this..

She was just putting on a brave face!

“I don’t know him, Maggie replied calmly.

Vanessa laughed mockingly, “In that case, why are you trying to show off? You’re just giving your friend false hope. Won’t it be even more disappointing when she realizes it’s all in vain?”

Maggie curved her lips and looked straight at Vanessa, saying, “The same goes for you. Be careful not to end up with nothing.”

Vanessa was irritated by her blunt words and sneered, “Well, I’d like to see what you can do.”

Seeing this, Maggie didn’t say anything more. She turned and walked into a guest room to make an international call.

“Hi, Blaire. It’s me

Watching her back, Vanessa was convinced that Maggie was just putting on a brave face. She wanted to see how embarrassed Mia and Maggie would be.

“Mr. Mason, I know this necklace is Mr. Carter’s personal item, but I really like it. I wonder if I could have the honor of trying it on?”

Vanessa asked gently, appearing generous and proper.

“Of course. The manager nodded and asked Vanessa and the elderly woman to sit. He carefully took out the necklace with black gloves and put it on Vanessa.

Looking at herself in the mirror, Vanessa truly liked it.

She studied design and could tell that the necklace was exquisitely made. Most importantly, at this moment, the necklace symbolizes her break from the past. She was no longer the Cinderella who lived in a poor area and had to work multiple jobs every day.

She even won over Mia, and she could have all of this.

This felt like a fresh start, a new beginning full of brilliance.

Vanessa admired herself in the mirror, then turned to the woman and asked with a cautious and hopeful tone in her gentle voice, ‘Grandma, how do I look? Is it beautiful?”

The woman reassuringly patted her hand and earnestly replied, “Of course, it’s beautiful. You’re young and pretty, so anything you wear will look good.”

A sincere smile spread across Vanessa’s face. Her eyes welled up with tears as she choked out, “Grandma.

The elderly woman laughed and said, “You’re my granddaughter. Of course, I have to be kind to you. Vanessa, you’ve been through a lot these years.”

Vanessa’s throat tightened at the mention of this. Her smile faded as she involuntarily glanced at Maggie.

Meanwhile, in the guest room.

“Maggie, there’s no problem, of course. Don’t worry. But would you consider collaborating with us again? I truly admire your designs…”

I’ll seriously consider it, but my heart isn’t in it right now. I hope you understand,” Maggie replied softly.

After ending the call, Maggie returned to the hall and saw Vanessa admiring the necklace she was wearing.

Mia was leaning on one hand, waiting for Maggie with a bored yet serious expression.

“Maggie, are you done with your call? Do you think this necklace looks good on me?” Vanessa asked, sounding somewhat boastful and smug.

Maggie curved her red lips into a smile and said, “The necklace is beautiful, but it doesn’t suit you.”

She was speaking the truth. The necklace was designed to be bold and trendy, more suitable for someone like Mia, who was unique, confident, and assertive.

Perhaps due to her upbringing. Vanessa always had an indescribable air of shyness and pettiness. With her limited exposure to fashion from a young age, her outfits were not particularly outstanding. Therefore, she was better suited to simple and delicate styles, which would highlight her reserved elegance.

The smile vanished from Vanessa’s face as she stared at Maggie and uttered in a cold tone, “I knew it. Your can’t stand to see me succeed. Maggie, you claim to be my friend, but you’ve never truly respected me. You’re only friends with me because you believe I can’t measure up to you in any way. Being around me just boosts your image!”

Before she could finish, Mia, standing nearby, couldn’t tolerate it any longer and interrupted with a disdainful laugh. “Idiot.”

“You!” Vanessa glared angrily at Mia. She probably didn’t expect Mia to be so audacious now that she had someone supporting her.

At that moment, the manager wiped the sweat from his forehead, feeling like he was caught in the middle of a clash between gods..

He apologized to the elderly woman and Vanessa, “Madam, I sincerely apologize. Mr. Carter believes that this necklace might be more suitable for Ms. Gatlin.”
