Chapter 26

Chapter 26 If She Wants It, I’ll Give It To Her

Though uncertain of its truth, Maggie found herself in a good mood at that moment.

Nathael, too, felt content, except for the fact that the dish wasn’t seafood.

Under the warm yellow light, the food steamed slightly, obscuring their faces. Maggie had little appetite and, after finishing her meal, she propped her chin with one hand and stared blankly at the man across from her.

Nathael ate more than usual, but he barely touched the seafood curry.

He wiped his mouth with a napkin, looked up, and saw her staring blankly, her gaze falling on him, but her focus elsewhere. He wondered what she was thinking.

Her hair fell around her ears, adding a touch of gentleness to her usual bright and charming demeanor. Even when facing him, her eyes were less guarded and distant, as if filled with unspoken joy.

Nathael couldn’t tell if her acting skills had improved or if she truly had ulterior motives.

But in that moment, he didn’t want to distinguish between truth nd falsehood anymore. Instead, he felt an uncontrollable desire to possess and dominate her, regardless of the means or consequences, even if it

meant she would hate him for it.

Nathael’s throat moved slightly, and he slowly lowered his eyes, concealing the dark red desire and obsession in his gaze.

Having tasted the sunlight, he could no longer bear the darkness.

It wasn’t until Nathael stood up to clear the dishes that Maggie snapped back to reality,

“Are you finished eating? I’ll wash the dishes,” she said with a smile, picking up the plates.

What a wonderful day!

As for Joseph, that jinx, she had completely ignored him.

But Nathael didn’t allow her to help. He took off his suit jacket, rolled up his sleeves, and said, “Help me take off my watch.”

“Oh. Maggie was momentarily stunned, then quickly stepped forward and carefully unfastened the expensive watch from his wrist.

Nathael didn’t say anything else and began cleaning up the dishes.

“I’ll wash them.” Maggie stood there awkwardly with the watch in her hand, watching him effortlessly take control of the situation.

He didn’t seem like the type of person who would do such things.

But surprisingly, when he performed these mundane tasks, it didn’t feel out of place at all.

“Oh, okay.” Maggie looked down at the simple and elegant watch in her hand, thinking that it must be one of his favorites, or he wouldn’t have mentioned it twice.

Maggie recognized the brand; after all, the Camerons had always been generous to her. But since the money wasn’t hers, she didn’t know much about it, even though she recognized the brand.

She carefully held the watch, walked to the living room, and felt his warmth still lingering on the watchband.

When she returned. Maggie simply stood there, watching him work, with nothing to do.

Twenty minutes later, Nathael finished cleaning up. He looked at the red spots gradually appearing on his arm and frowned slightly.

He rolled down his sleeves and turned to Maggie. “Thank you for your hospitality, Miss Adam.”

Seeing her about to leave, Maggie handed him his suit jacket. Just as she was about to retrieve his watch, she noticed two small red spots on the back of his hand and blurted out, “Your hand…”

“I was accidentally bitten by something.” Nathael covered it without any change in his expression.

Maggie pouted unhappily. “That thing is really mischievous,”

Nathael chuckled, his dark eyes fixed on her, his voice low and deep as he said, “You’re also very mischievous.

Maggie blinked, her fair face furrowed, her lips pouted in dissatisfaction. “Mr. Harris, I just treated you to dinner.”

Nathael’s lips curled up in a faint smile. He couldn’t afford to delay any longer. He couldn’t help but take another glance at her, then turned and left.

As soon as Nathael left, Maggie couldn’t resist running to the window to look down.

Alex must have received a message in advance; he was already waiting there. The black Maybach turned into a blur of light in the night, gradually disappearing from Maggie’s sight.

Maggie returned to the sofa, hugging a pillow and staring into space.

Her relationship with Nathael had improved, or so she thought…

Well, at least he had changed from calling her Maggie to Miss Adam. Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.

Thinking about this, Maggie felt a sense of sadness.

Why did it feel like their relationship had become even more distant?

After contemplating for a while,/Maggie shook her head in denial. It wasn’t like that. Just as she addressed him as Mr. Harris, his calling her Miss Adam at least indicated that he no longer despised her.

Just as she pushed those thoughts aside, Maggie caught a glimpse of a wristwatch on the coffee table from the corner at her eue

“Ohl”

She hastily stood up. Nathael had left his watch here!

She had wanted to remind him earlier, but she got distracted by the red spots on the back of his hand and promptly forgot about it.

But he had already left. Maggie picked up the watch and climbed back onto the sofa.

As she played with Nathael’s watch, she couldn’t help but smile at the thought of seeing him again.

She hoped that Nathael would leave more things here next time.

On the other side, Nathael had just gotten into the car and loosened his collar, his eyes cast downward as he said in a deep voice, “To the hospital.”

Alex was stunned for a few seconds. Through the rearview mirror, he saw that Nathael’s neck was also covered in tiny red spots. He immediately frowned and said anxiously, “Mr. Harris, you’re having an allergic reaction!”

“It’s fine.” Nathael leaned back in his seat and spoke in a deep voice.

Alex frowned, not daring to waste any time.

Is Maggie insane? It was one thing to be scheming, but now she was trying to harm Mr. Harris!

Alex stepped on the accelerator, his expression grim. After several attempts to speak, he finally couldn’t hold back and said, “Mr. Harris, Miss Adam is very beautiful, but there are other beautiful women too. She has plotted against you time and again, so you…

Nathael slowly opened his eyes and cut him off coldly, “Alex, that’s enough.”

Clearly, he was unwilling to listen.

However, this time, Alex was determined to express his thoughts, “Even if you don’t want to hear it, I must say it. Maggie’s intentions towards you are clearly calculated. If it was just her usual scheming, it would be one thing, but this time she is attempting to harm you and I cannot stay silent!”

There were numerous women who desired Nathael. Some desired his looks, some his power, and some desired him as a person. Alex had witnessed all types. He always believed that with someone like Nathael, it was difficult not to have ulterior motives.

However, while these women desired Nathael, at least they were willing.

Maggie was different. The person he despised the most was Maggie because she calculated everything. about him without any scruples, yet she was unwilling to reveal her true feelings. All she sought and took was for the Camerons. She was as cold and indifferent as a heartless stone, as if she had no emotions.

Nathael gazed out at the dim lights outside the window and scoffed. “Do you think she values life? If my she wants it, I will give it to her.”
