Chapter 684
Chapter 684 A Trap
Four months had passed, and the world had gradually settled back into its natural rhythm. The catastrophe had been averted, and peace now stretched across the realms, restoring balance to the universe.
I remained in the Lunar Realm with Zander and Austin, embracing the destiny that had been chosen for me. Austin had now remembered everything as the spell was broken and he now thrived under the love and attention he received as the prince of the Lunar Realm. The people had accepted Zander as my mate and husband, granting him the same respect they showed me.
Despite his responsibilities as Alpha King, Zander traveled between his pack and the Lunar Realm daily. I had voiced my concerns, telling him it was risky to shift between realms so frequently, but he had only smiled and said, "For me, it's just like commuting to work."
I couldn't deny how much I cherished his presence, so I let him make the choice.
On days when he had to stay in his pack longer, I accompanied him, ensuring that our time together wasn't compromised. Even then, I remained vigilant over the Lunar Realm, thanks to the new technology I had developed a system that allowed me to monitor and communicate across realms in real time.
One evening, as we sat in our chambers, Zander pulled me closer, resting his palm over my growing belly. "You should rest more, Selena. You're carrying our child and ruling an entire realm. That's a lot for one person."
I chuckled, brushing my fingers over his. "And you're running a pack while making daily trips here. That's just as exhausting."
He smirked. "Fair point. But you're the one growing a little life inside you. That trumps everything."
I leaned my head against his shoulder, exhaling deeply. "It's all worth it, though. We've come so far, and despite everything, we're together. That's all that matters."
Zander kissed the top of my head. "Always, my mate."
As I closed my eyes, I felt the steady rhythm of his heart against mine. But when the silence stretched longer than usual, I sensed his unease through our mate bond, which had only grown stronger with time.
"What's wrong, Zander?" I asked, pulling away from his shoulder and tilting my head to meet his eyes.
He sighed, knowing he couldn't hide the truth from me. "The Dark Alpha," he said, his jaw clenching.
Oh. How could I have forgotten?
"He's been silent for too long," Zander continued, his voice laced with unease. "A demon like him thrives on destruction and death. If there's been no sign of his presence, it only means he's gathering strength in the shadows. And that worries me."
"Don't overthink it," I murmured, brushing the tip of my nose against his before pressing a soft kiss to his lips. "Maybe he's afraid of facing us, knowing that together, we are far more powerful than him." I smiled, trying to ease his concern.
Zander sucked in a breath, his eyes darkening-worry giving way to something far more primal as I found lust and need swirling in his bright blue eyes.
"You think so?" His voice turned mischievous.
"Yeah?" I replied, biting my lip, already knowing where his thoughts were heading.
"Then let's go and enhance our power, mate," he said smoothly, standing up in one swift motion before effortlessly sweeping me into his arms in a bridal carry.
I woke up feeling sore and completely spent, the sheets still warm from where Zander had been. But when I reached out, the bed was empty.
Memories of our passionate love making were still fresh-him taking me over and over, his hands gripping me tight, his body claiming mine in the most primal way.
I had to admit, ever since getting pregnant, my hormones were out of control-was always horny, always needing him, craving the feeling of him inside me. So I never complained when he fucked me hard and deep, filling me up over and over. His huge, thick cock stretched me perfectly, hitting every spot that had me shaking and begging for more. He didn't stop until I was completely wrecked, spent and dripping, passing out with him still buried inside me, throbbing as he emptied himself in me again and again.
But now... he was gone.
I sat up, rubbing the sleep from my eyes, my body immediately missing his warmth. He never left without a word-never. Panic started creeping in as I threw on a robe and searched for him. No one seemed to know where he went, which only made it worse.
If he had to leave so suddenly that he couldn't even tell me, then something was definitely wrong.
I tried to contact him, but there was no response. Growing more anxious, I reached out to his Beta, hoping Zander had gone to the Moonglow Pack. But when I couldn't reach Maddox either, my stress deepened.
Without wasting another second, I commanded my second-in-command to take care of Austin until I returned. Quickly changing into suitable clothes, I left for the Moonglow Pack.

When I got closer, I saw the council members holding a trial in the heart of the Moonglow pack. My breath caught in my throat when I saw Zanderstanding in the accused's position. But what shocked me even more was the man standing opposite him-someone who looked exactly like him, wearing a smug, satisfied smile.
Panic gripped me.
"What the hell is going on?" I yelled as I hurried toward Zander.
His anxious eyes met mine, filled with urgency and fear.
"Selena, why did you come here? Run away! It's a trap!"
What?!
What do you think?
