Chapter 11
Hugo frowned with a feeling of being cheated.
In the living room, Aunt Nina was already up and preparing breakfast.
Seeing Lindsay in her pajamas, sitting alone on the sofa, she smiled, "Did you sleep well last night?"Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
She thought Hugo would not come back last night for accompanying Judith White. When she heard the noise in the night, she got up to have a look and knew that Hugo came back last night, and he slept in the room.
This was the wife set by the lady for the young master, who was naturally good. The young master finally got married, and Aunt Nina, who has been taking care of him, was also happy.
Her tone of voice and facial expression were too enthusiastic and inexplicably ambiguous.
Lindsay stiffly withdrew a smile, "Quite, quite well."
"Then hurry up and change your clothes. I'll prepare breakfast, so you can eat later." Aunt Nina walked into the dining room and started making breakfast.
Lindsay looked down at the pajamas she was wearing, thinking the clothes she brought were still in the room.
The man in there would be dressed by now, right?
She stood up and walked toward the bedroom. Standing in the doorway, she raised her hand and knocked on the door.
No one answered.
She knocked again, and still no answer.
She tried to push open the door, the door was not locked from the inside, and she opened it with a push.
But the moment the door was pushed open, it was like the cold wind of December spraying into her face, blowing wand making her shivering. The man sat on the edge of the bed, his cold gaze fixed on a piece of paper.
The paper...
Soon Lindsay saw clearly what he was holding, then her eyes saw a mess on the floor, there was a sense of humiliation that her privacy was being snooped on.
She ran in, snatched it up and questioned, "What gives you the right to look at other people's things without their consent, do you understand privacy?"
Oh.
Hugo sneered, "Privacy?"
His cold smile looked extra creepy, "You married me with a wild child in your stomach and now you come to talk to me about privacy?"
"I...I..." Lindsay wanted to explain, but couldn't find the right words for a while.
Hugo stood up, the unhurried footsteps were especially rhythmic. Each step was like atmospheric pressure forced two points closer, dark clouds rolled over his harsh brow, "Say it, what is your purpose?"
She wanted him to be a provider and her child to become the first eldest grandson of the Jones family?
The previous deal was just a stopgap measure on her part?
The more he thought about it, the darker his face became.
Lindsay's lips compressed into a thin line, her body trembled, and she kept stepping back, with her hands covering her abdomen, for fear that he would hurt the child in her belly, "I didn't mean to hide it from you, we had just a marriage of trade sol-1 didn't say that. There was absolutely no purpose."
Hugo tone of voice had inexplicably an eerie intimidation, "Really?"
Lindsay protected her abdomen, pulled back her body quietly, and maintained her composure, "Really How cand muddle through with this kind of thing? If I have any wrong intention, I shall die in my boots. I What's more, if I did get attached to
you, I suppose you'd have the means to get me killed, right?"
Although her movements were small and light, Hugo noticed, and his eyes swept over her protected abdomen.
His gaze settled on her face, "Why didn't you make that clear in advance?"
Hugo wouldn't trust her that easily.
She slowly clenched the hands protecting her abdomen. This child was too unexpected for her, but it was a relative with whom she had
blood ties. She had already lost her brother, so she wanted to have this child.
BUMS
In the future, the child, her mother and her could share their life together.
When she thought of that night, she couldn't help but tremble, the cold sweat on her palm was straight up, "I, I just found out not long ago."
She didn't even dare to tell Joan. She didn't dare to leave the ultrasound picture at her place, just in case Joan found out.
She didn't expect to make such a big fuss.
It made Hugo suspect that her motives were not pure.
She was only eighteen years old, how could she...
