KING ELIJAH

CHAPTER 25

Elijah’s lips kept opening and closing as he tried to form words. “Y-you remember..” He Finally stammered, his hands fisting the wet grass underneath us.

I got up, stumbling a few times and Elijah tried helping me but I snapped at him slapping his hands away. “Don’t touch me!” I screamed at his face, breathing heavily.

“Celeste, I-I can explain” He said getting up and moving closer to me but I shook my head stumbling backwards.

“No.. Stay away from me!” And with those words said, I ran.

I ran into the woods, panting and gasping, breathing heavily as I did. The green trees around me were like a blur as my legs carried me through the forest and my eyes kept releasing wetness like a waterfall. It felt like I have been running for hours until my legs finally gave out and I fell to the ground, a few twigs scratching at my exposed skin.

My body forced shift from all the betrayal and pain we were feeling, my wolf released a sorrowful wail, her head facing the darkening sky.

The ear of my wolf twitched when we heard a distant howl just as sorrowful as ours. My Wolf’s eyes harden when we heard another wail but this time closer.

He had no right to be sad for he was the one to betray us,… use us for his sick twisted games. We heard a twig snap behind us but before my wolf could turn her head behind her to see who the intruder was, a small sharp object was in my wolfs’ naked.

Whatever was in the needle made us shift back to my human form. My body fell to the ground and my naked body curls up in a fatal position on the ground. Weakly, I raised my hand to my neck and removed the needle from the skin, bringing it close to my face to inspect. All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

It looked those types of darts shot from a tranquilizer gun. My assumptions was proved correct when I saw the figure of some men in black holding guns. Their faces was unclear but I could make out that of the King among them.

From the distant, he walked towards me but before he could get to me, everything turned black.

The king was looming over me watching me as I woke up. I could only stare at him, knowing I had no where to go for I was trapped.

I could not feel my body from my chest down to my toe but can move my head, lips and blink my eyes.

“The drugs would wear off in a few minutes but before then, I need you to listen to me” Elijah started in a plea, but I said nothing, just stare at him while I licked my dry lips.

His eyes followed the action and he stretched his hand to the nightstand, a glass of water in his hand. He brought it to my lips but all I still did was stare. He sighed, knowing I would not drink from the cup in his hand and placed it back on the nightstand.

“Celeste, I know you are upset” He said and my eyes twitched from the word upset.

“Upset?” I spat the word out with as much venom I could muster.

He signed looking at me lovely while using the tip of his index finger to rub my cheeks tenderly.

“Okay, I know you are angry, mad etc. but I just want you to understand me” he mumbled and I smacked my lips in a thin line waiting for him to continue with whatever Bullshits he had to say.

“I loved her Celeste and I wanted her back after she… Died” He started licking his lips before continuing. “For seven years I lived with the guilt that I was the reason why I lost my mate and unborn child” He said and I almost gasped at that.

He was going to have a child?

“All I wanted was to hold my mate in my arms once more but now I know how foolish it was of me to live in such fantasies” He chuckled sadly shaking his head.

“After Samantha died, I reserved her body for three years, trying to find ways to bring back my mate and child.” He whispered looking me in the eye and I was shocked at his words. How crazy was this man above me?

“I seek help from different covens but none were willing to perform dark magic by giving life to someone who was already dead” He said with venom before shaking his head.

“Anyways, that was when I met Evanora… The witch, She was the only one who would perform such magic and that was why she was an outcast in her coven for practicing dark magic” He said in a breath.

“When I brought her here to the palace where Samantha’s body was, Evanora could not bring her back. She said her body was dead but her soul still roam the earth because she was never given a proper burial” Elijah muttered as he shift uncomfortably on the bed while resting his hands on his laps.

“We were able to trap Samantha’s soul in a special room where I was able to speak to her and see her when ever I wanted” He continued.

“Evanora requested I had to find someone with an innocent soul… A vessel to house that of Samantha and that was when I saw you after four years.”

“So you never loved me?” I asked him, tears threatening to fall from my eyes.

“No no” He said with panic in his voice. “I did.. I do Love you Celeste” Elijah whispered as I struggle to move upright when the sensation of moving my body returned.

“But you were going to use me… Kill me if I am right. I-I heard you that night” I said wiping a lone tear.

“I fell in love with you and I could no longer go

With the plans I had before.” He murmured with a sad tone. “That night when you heard Evanora and I discussing, I was going to tell her that I couldn’t do it again” he said, his eyes pleading with me to believe him.

He tried touching my cheek but I jerked my head back and he slowly dropped his hand on the bed.

“And what about the soul of you Real mate?” I asked, my heart pounding against my chest.

“I set her free” He whispered and I nodded.

I am happy that she was able to get away from him, even if she’s dead I’m sure she’s happier with the goddess on the moon.

“Celeste i-im sorry I wis-” “I need time Elijah” I said cutting him off while staring him deeply in the eye.

“I need time away from you.”
