Chapter 841 She Dared Not Provoke Noah the Terrifying Madman
"I understand, Father. Leave it to me."
Cyrus stood up, smoothed the creases on his clothes, and departed with light steps. It was as if the dark and sickening affairs within the cafe were unrelated to him, and he was left untouched.
Watching him leave, Otto positioned the camera and sneered at Noah. "You're still resisting? Xavia, make your move already.”
Duskfall never offers a nurturing hand without expecting something in return, and to enjoy the benefits it offers, one must be willing to obey. Xavia would probably be nothing more than a wealthy man's mistress if she had not chosen Duskfall, and her dreams of becoming a renowned violinist would remain unfulfilled. Xavia was well aware of all this as the moment she entered Duskfall, her first lesson was one on gratitude.
With a deep breath to calm her nerves, Xavia approached Noah with small, measured steps. She pressed her fair skin against Noah's arm, a delicate touch meant to soothe.
“Come on,” she whispered, her voice tinged with understanding. “I know you're suffering.”
Noah's head remained lowered, the shadows obscuring his expression. His hand gripped tightly onto the table's edge, the veins on it bulging. He felt a heat in his nose as blood dripped onto the floor, forming large spots that resembled blooming flowers.
Otto was taken aback, and a fury overwhelmed him.
"Are you mad? Are you seriously going to endure it?" Otto scoffed, "It's just sex, not murder or arson."
Xavia became afraid, her mind occupied by the terrifying thought that Noah might die, leaving Cyrus' task unfulfilled. She hurriedly began to unbuckle Noah's belt, desperately seeking a swift
resolution to the disturbing situation.
Noah abruptly raised his head. The veins in his wild eyes stood out like crimson threads, a reflection of his internal emotional torment. "Fuck off," he growled, the words dripping with venom and despair.
Xavia stumbled backward, trembling as she turned to Otto for help.
"Why the stubbornness?" Otto asked. "As long as you obey, we’ll help you kill Joseph."
"You’re not helping me! There isn’t fucking mutually beneficial!" Noah exploded in rage.
He would rather die than touch a woman he disliked. The very thought was repulsive to him.
Otto's expression turned serious. He paused, then gestured for Xavia to continue. Her skin broke out in goosebumps as she pleaded, "I'm scared..."
"Try again. If it still doesn’t work, we’ll drop it," Otto whispered to her.
Her eyes brightened at his words. "You’ll help me, Mr. Otto?"
"Yes."
With Otto's assurance, Xavia gathered her courage and once again approached Noah. This time, before she could react, Noah grabbed her hair and pulled out a dagger. The tip hovered dangerously near her eye, poised to puncture. This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
"I won't kill you right away," he threatened, his voice dripping with contempt. "First, I'll blind you. Then, I’ll carve scars into your face. It will destroy your proud violin career, and when you're devoid of all your worth, I trust Duskfall will assist me in ending you."
Xavia froze, watching the blade as her scalp tingled. "N-No... D-Don't..." she stammered, her voice a fragile whisper. Even if it meant being punished by Cyrus, she no longer dared to act. She dared not provoke this terrifying version of Noah who was akin to a madman.
Suppressing the metallic taste in his throat, Noah’s voice was hoarse and his breath was hot. His somber aura was overwhelming as he growled, "Then get the fuck out here right now.”
It was better to die on one's feet than to live on one's knees.
Noah stared at the woman before him in revulsion. Even if he was choked to death, he would not give in. He was on the cusp of marrying Chloe, and he would not allow anything to destroy that chance, especially not at the last moment.
"I'll leave... I'll leave..." The utterly terrified Xavia nodded frantically. She knew Noah was no angel, but she had not expected him to be the devil.
Noah violently chucked Xavia aside. He then turned the blade, and without hesitation, stabbed his own palm. The cold blade was stained with bright red blood, and the sharp pain that spread through his body stimulated his nerves. This act cleared his clouded consciousness a little.
