Chapter 15
Chapter 15
Surprisingly, I fell asleep quite fast and slept pretty well.
When I woke up the next morning, I realized that everyone was still sleeping.
But when I looked down at Lou's madras I realized that he was missing and I felt my chest clench.
Where the hell could he have gone?
I thought about waking Colton up, but then remembered that Lou usually took a morning run.
I eventually calmed down and felt my heart slow it's beating.
I watched as Lucky's chest rises and fell and I wondered how the heck someone as nice as Lucky ever
could have done such a thing.
He said that it was in the past though.
If a murderer said that he regretted murdering a person, he would still be a murderer, right?
My inner voice spoke and I gulped.
But he didn't murder anyone.
And he did sacrifice his own virginity.
Stop making up excuses for him.
I sighed out loud and massaged my temples.
I wondered if Sandra had visited me during my time as unconscious.
She must have, she's my mum for gods sake.
I heard someone move and my eyes landed on Loren's small frame.
She seemed to me wakening up and I soon saw her eyes flutter open.
She sat up and yawned and her eyes soon met mine.
"Good morning" She whispered quietly, her voice was still groggy from wakening up and I returned her
smile.
"Good morning" I politely responded, while stretching my arms and yawning.
We fell into a comfortable silence and I looked out of the window in the room.
The sun was already up in the sky and you could hear birds sing outside.
"It's weird" Loren suddenly said and I turned my attention to her.
"How just a sentence can make you change your opinion about someone so quickly" She finished, her
eyes were resting on her brother and I pursed my lips.
"He's still your brother" I reminded her softly.
"And Luke is still your friend" She spat and I frowned.
Damn.
"Sorry, I'm just so surprised that's all" She apologized with a sad smile.
I shrugged it off and assured her that it was fine.
The silence fell upon us once again.
"Where's Lucas?" She then asked and my eyes wandered to Lou's empty madras.
"I think he's out for a run"
"How the hell does he have the energy for that so early in the morning?" She said my thoughts out loud
and I chuckled.
"I have no idea"
"Would you shut up, I'm trying to sleep" Kylie groaned into her pillow and I laughed.
"Sorry" I excused us quietly and she sighed.
"Whatever, I guess I should wake up now anyways" She yawned and sat up.
"I heard you were having a heart to heart, may I chime in?" She asked and I raised my eyebrows.
"Both Tyson and Luke seem to be sorry for what they have done. Well maybe not Tyson, but at least he
regrets not telling you earlier. And Tyson loves you, so get over it" I glared at her for being so
insensitive and she rolled her eyes.
"And Luke has changed, you know that. His past doesn't define who he is now"
I kept quiet and looked down at my blanket covered knee.
"I know I'm right" She smugly added and I laughed. Content © NôvelDrama.Org.
I flipped her off and rested my head against the pillow.
The door creaked open and I scanned the person walking in.
The tall frame and capturing eyes gave it all away and I waved to Lou as he entered the room.
"You're still sleeping?" He asked quite loudly, Oliver groaned loudly and sat up.
"For f*cks sake, mate" His voice, thick from sleeping yelled.
"What's happening?" Tyson asked as he also woke up.
Colton groaned as he woke up and the first thing he did was show us all the finger.
Kylie hit Lucky in the head and his eyes shot open.
"Dude!" He yelled, his voice even raspier than usual.
Oh god that's hot.
"I want breakfast so get up and make me some" I whined and they all glared at me.
"I can't freaking move" I reminded them and they all sighed and rolled their eyes.
Soon people were on their feet and they walked back to their places to bring us breakfast.
"I can keep Raven company" Oliver offered and I cocked an eyebrow at him.
"You're just to lazy to walk back to the house" I deadpanned and he shrugged.
After half an hour, Lou came back with a plate of sandwiches and some juice.
Soon the others came along with coffee and pancakes.
"I crave coffee" I literally moaned when I smelled the warm drink being poured into my cup.
"Aahh" I sighed as I sipped on the coffee.
"How can you drink that?" Lou asked, scrunching his nose.
"What are you talking about? It's amazing" I fluttered my eyes closed as I took another sip of the warm
drink.
"No, it's so bitter and it makes your teeth yellow" he was staring at me in disgust as I kept drinking.
"Nope" I popped the 'p' and smiled brightly at his grimace.
He shook his head and stubbornly held onto his glass of orange juice.
"You're such a twat" I laughed and he flipped me off with a chuckle.
I noticed Lucky staring at me from the side, but I ignored it and kept the conversation with Lou going.
"How can you run at the morning? I'd die"
"It's relaxing and it helps me think" He pulled his fingers through his newly showered hair and raised his
shoulders and dropped them.
I tilted my head as closed my eyes, I felt an headache coming.
"You okay?" Lou asked, with food in his mouth and I slowly opened my eyes again.
"I'm starting to get a headache" I whined and he furrowed his brow.
"Do you need some aspirin?" He asked me and I shook my head.
"I think I'm fine for now. I just need my coffee"
15 minutes later, we had all finished eating and it was time for me to go home.
I was so happy to get back and have a shower.
And afterwards Lou gave me some new, woman's clothing which made me even happier.
It was just a normal tank top and a pair of sweatpants, but still. And a pair of actual panties and a bra in
my size.
When we had gotten back, I'd decided to stop using the wheelchair and use he crutches instead, so I
got some work out at least.
So currently I was slowly making my way down the stairs with my crutches as the rest of us sat in our
living room.
"Tadaaaaa" I yelled when I finally made it to the last step.
"I did it! Uh huh, uh huh. I did it! Uh huh, uh huh" I sang as I jumped to the couch and sat down.
"That's the way, uh huh, uh huh, I like it, uh huh, uh huh" Colton corrected me and I flipped him off.
"Don't ruin my moment"
Me and Lucky still hadn't spoken, since he revealed his... Past.
I knew that I had to say something soon, the tension between us was ruining the mood in the house.
So I sat down in the couch next to Lou and then decided to start off with something simple.
"Can you hand me that pillow?" I asked Lucky, making eye contact.
He was visibly surprised and his eyebrows shot up, I saw a small smile tugging at his lips though.
"Here" He said, quietly and I grated him with a smile.
I decided that I would try to speak to him later, if we ever were alone.
"So what are we doing today?" I asked them and Colton raised his hand.
"Maybe we can walk around camp and say hello to some people? You haven't really been outside that
much" He gave me a friendly smile and I nodded.
"That sounds great, maybe I should visit Sandra too" I thought about it and then realized that she
hadn't visited me when I was at the hospital cottage.
"Did she visit when I was passed out?" I asked them, gritting my teeth. I didn't even know if I wanted to
know the answer to that question.
"Yes she did, a few times actually. She yelled at Derek too" Lucky said, still quite quiet.
This made me smile and I nodded shyly.
"Well, I'm ready to leave" I said, gesturing towards the door and slowly standing up and grabbing my
crutches.
The boys stood up and followed me to the door.
I slowly made my way down the small stairs that led to the ground outside the house and then started
moving towards a tree close by. I leaned against it and waited for Lou to lock the door.
When they started to walk towards me I pushed myself off the tree and joined them as they walked
towards the centre of the camping.
"Hi Colton! Hi Lucas!" The same little girl that informed us about my wheelchair cheered as she saw us
walk past.
She was sitting on a big rock next to a boy her age and he looked down at his knee nervously.
"Hi Ana and hi Eric!" Colton answered in the same cheerful tone.
Lou gave them both a smile and a small nod and I waved awkwardly.
"Where are you going?" Eric quietly asked and I couldn't help but quietly 'aww'.
"We're just walking around and looking for something to do" Colton continued and Eric smiled a small,
small smile.
They talked a little bit more and then we continued toward the reception where Sandra was.
When we came into the conference room she was standing opposite the grumpy old woman who
wouldn't let us in the first day. I couldn't remember her name.
They were discussing something and it seemed pretty important, seeing as Sandra was waving her
hands all over the place and her eyes were wide open.
"Mum?" I asked and she looked over at me.
Her harsh expression softened and she gave me a warm smile.
"I heard you were awake, I had planned to come and visit you later today!" She said, walking over to
me and giving me a tight hug.
"Caren, Sandra, what's happening?" Lou asked sternly, his eyes were filled with worry and it made my
chest clench.
Caren, now I remembered.
"We have got some news" Sandra whispered and I furrowed my brow.
"What kind of news?" Lucky asked besides me.
"Both bad and good" Caren muttered and I bit my lip.
"The bad news are that Tim and Sarah leaved for a raid, three days ago and they haven't returned..."
Sandra wore a gritted expression and I hoped that these strangers were alright.
"And the good news?" Lou pushed and I looked over at Sandra again with wide eyes.
"The news said that they're sending rescue forces to save people that are still virus free. They are
moving them to the U.S, since it's still pretty free from the virus... The only problem is that the airport is
over 500 kilometers away from here"
That would take at least a week to walk.
"And when are the plains arriving?" Colton asked and I panicked.
"Three days, and they're only staying for 4 hours"
Oh crap.
