Chapter 15: fifteen
Chapter 15: fifteen
things went back to how they were before the accident, maybe I was expecting too much from him but
there was a little hope that maybe, or just maybe he would feel something towards me. silly I know but
I'm thousands of miles away from home looking for revenge, revenge for something that never
happened or was faked, well he is alive so it cannot be considered revenge which implies that
everything I did in the past six months was a complete and utter waste, waste of resources.
I know I'm rambling in frustration but what else can I do, after last night I thought Dimitri has somehow
warmed up to me but no he threw me on the bed and left, LEFT, and locked the damn door.
Out of curiosity, I snooped in his bedroom and it is beautiful. I have always loved his choice of furniture,
he has such elegant taste that brings out the best of views and cozy feelings. there were lots of baby
pictures, pictures from toddlers to teenagers. he was so cute and chubby.
My stomach growled in the middle of my snooping which then I realized that I haven't eaten since
yesterday morning, signing I walk towards the door and knocked
"Hello, anybody there?" I yelled out but no reply, I kept banging the door but in the vain, I walked back
to the bedside tables and opened every drawer in hopes of finding the keys. I didn't find any key but I
found a small screwdriver
Shrugging with no other options I tried to unlock the door with the screwdriver, After a lot of trouble the
lock finally broke and I was on my mary way, just like last night I was once again in the mysterious
hallway and this time I was not upside down I could see every little detail.
The hallway was beautiful like a mysterious palace, there were huge wall-size portraits from lot to new,
the people in the portraits seemed to be intimidating and very important. I felt silly because of my
thoughts, of course, they were important no normal man or woman would hung up their portraits
without any reason. With that thought in mind, I kept walking down the hallway one portrait caught my
attention the most. It was of a family of four, mother, father, their two children.
Looking closely I could see the names written beneath the portrait there were names 'Antonio and
Laura Torricelli parents of Massimo and Serria Torricelli'
The Mother which I assume was is Laura is very pretty she is a ginger with hazel eyes and a sun-
kissed complexion her husband Antonio is the opposite. he had dark hair with black intimidating eyes
with tan skin, he held the posture of a very powerful man. their son who is about fourteen of fifteen
looks exactly like his father tall, powerful, and mysterious but there is something about him that is
familiar like I've seen those grey eyes before, I shake my head clearing the fog of curiosity in my head
and come back to the last member of the family. The baby which I assume is a girl was holding her
brother's hand, she can't be more than 2 or 3 but she is the cutest kid I have ever seen, she is a ginger, This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
like her mother but has brown eyes and a chubby face. the family looks so perfect that they can be
mistaken as celebrities.
"You shouldn't be out here," said a voice scaring the shit out of me, I squeak like a girl which is
understandable since I'm one, I turn around to face the devil who sneaked up on me and stopped it's
Dimitri looking as brilliant as ever, he wore a black button-up shirt with grey pants and shiny shoes. his
hair was in a perfect rolled-out-of-bed look. the only odd thing was his watch it looked centuries-old but
classy none the less
He cleared his throat to get my attention and I snapped back to reality. "You locked me up without any
food," was all I said and stood to stare at him mimicking his stance.
"Come on, " he mumbled sighing, and walked away, I looked at the portrait for the last time and
followed him. There was a deafening silence between us, it was uncomfortable I have so many
questions but knowing him he wouldn't any so I stayed mum.
after a few minutes of walking, we came to a stop, the kitchen was beautiful with white everything,
comparing to the entire house this place was so much different, this place spoke peace and elegance.
Dimitri walked into the kitchen as he has been here a thousand times, probably was too since it's his
kitchen and all.
"Sit, " he ordered me like I was some fucking dog that needed training making me roll my eyes, some
things never change, He rambled around in the kitchen gathering different ingredients which made me
think if there were no kitchen staff in here but didn't voice it, he kept cooking wich looked like scrambled
eggs and some bacon.
"Can I ask you something?" I asked but was not acknowledged but I knew he heard "Why did you do
it?" he stopped for a second but continued cooking sighing I asked another question, "You told me not
to call you Dimitri, so what should I call you?" he didn't answer which made me give up but then he
spoke.
"Massimo, call me Massimo," he said serving me breakfast with a glass of Oj. hearing the name was
like a lightbulb going crazy in my head Massimo Torricelli, the boy in the portrait. if he is Massimo then
who is...
"If you're Massimo then who is Dimitri?" I asked looking expectantly at him he sighs but didn't answer
"You have to answer something, there are so many people mourning for a death of a person who does
not exist," I raised my voice at the end of the sentence unknowingly
"This has nothing to do with you, Erika, stay out of this before it's too late," he warns sternly which in
turn made me more furious
"Has nothing to do with me? I'm your wife, it is already too late," I yelled clenching the fork in my hand
He walked away to a cabinet and opened it to take out something which had my heart speed up, he
stood in front of me across the breakfast bar and placed an envelope in front of me, This brought a
sense of Deja Vu within me. I looked at him confused but he held a cup of coffee in his hand and
sipped it, I placed the fork on the table and opened the envelope, My heart stopped as I went through
the papers, a tear slipped from my eyes and I was emotionally and mentally broken.
He signed it
He signed the divorce papers
"Your flight leaves in an hour, your friend will follow with you," that he was gone
then I broke down
