Chapter 74
Angel Leffman
Five days have passed between Argentina and London, and after so many meetings, we finally managed to reach an agreement, and now I am on my way home to finish giving my surprise to Sofia. She had no idea I was coming home, so the surprise would be better. I miss her so much, and it took everything in me not to just leave everything behind for her.
She told me that she wanted to go to Dr. Denice to check on her. I was surprised by that decision, but I liked the doctor, so I accepted it, and something told me that even if I didn't agree, he would still see her anyway.
She has been calmer with her mood swings, although her appetite remains the same, and my nausea has improved because Paul recommended some medications; otherwise, I would be suffering now. My parents haven't bothered her anymore, or that's what she says, and I think my sister is learning the hard truth about life.
Amelia and Harry have kept me up to date with the preparations for Sofia's surprise, and I must say that I have them running all over the place. If only I were in the country, I would take care of it, but they are there, so they are my ears, my eyes, my legs, and everything. I also made Carmen literally move in with Sofia. Since I left, she has not left her alone, and she is even happy with the idea of having a child at home. She is also happy because Sofia and I decided to settle our differences. We are not the best-married couple out there, but we are trying, and I don't have anything to complain about, except that she still doesn't tell me what she's hiding from me, but that's a matter of time.
When I arrived in America, I went straight to Autos-Let.
"Good afternoon," I said, greeting Harry, who was in the workshop.
"I thought you would go home, then come back, but it looks like you came straight from the airport," he noticed with a shake of his head.
"I can't waste any more time; I want to see how everything is," I said in an excited yet nervous tone.
""Don't you trust your friends?" he asked, and he acted offended.
"It's not the lack of trust; it's just that I don't want there to be any mistakes. Anyway, have you seen Sofia?"
"I saw her two days ago; she was somewhat tamed, man, but in a mood that almost choked me." I laughed because I could imagine the scene. "I swear, she blames me for taking you away from her, her sweetheart," he complained while rolling her eyes.
"I blame you too, but the good thing is that I solved everything sooner than expected, and I don't want any more trips for now."
"Are you here to see the beauty?" he asked, showing me the progress that left me speechless. It is just as I imagined.
"There are only a few installation details missing, and another review must be done to begin testing the technology system. Please make sure everything is in order before proceeding." He instructed me, and I did just that.
I made sure that everything was according to my specifications and design. "Perfect, it needs to be ready today," I stated, and I started to prepare.
"Don't you want to rest first, man? You just got back from a trip."
"I rested on the plane." I reasoned and removed everything in me and put it on top of a table.
"Oh, what can love do to someone? I'm going to get you lunch at least," Harry said while shaking his head.
I dedicated myself to finishing the last details of my surprise. I painted it and called Isaac to install everything tomorrow.
"Since you are in the country, you can come by in an hour to register the system on the platform, sign the contract, and we can install it tomorrow."
"Why so late? There will be no one in the company for that," I asked with a raised brow while wiping my hands.
"Amelia has the contract, and I will solve the rest."
"Okay, then I'll finish tidying up here and go. Isaac, I want everything ready tomorrow. I will not accept any excuses," I told him firmly, letting him know that I was beyond serious.
"Man, you're worse than Sofia and her bad temper. I think she needs to see you urgently to calm her."
"She sees me every day by video call, and she still doesn't know I'm coming, so don't say anything.
"I won't; Amelia is finishing something at the house, and then she's coming to get you to sign the papers."
"Alright."
We finished fixing what was missing, so all that remains is for Isaac to install the security system. After that, I went to Let-Tech, and Isaac was already waiting for me at the reception.
"Let's go to the office." He invited me, and I followed him to the office that, according to him, is Amelia's, and it didn't take long before she arrived.
"I'm sorry for the delay, but I was fixing the missing details. Hello, Angel, hello, love." She greeted us, and it looked like she rushed there.
"Hello, gorgeous. Don't worry, Angel has just arrived; I preferred him to be in your office since you have the contract."
The two shared a look, and Amelia nodded in agreement. "That's right." Isaac gets up from the chair, makes room for her, and takes out the documents. "Well, the type of system you requested is described here, with the security codes for the mobile application. It is important to highlight that maintenance is done annually and a review every third month to verify its operation." She gave me the documents, and I read them from the top. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
"Sounds good to me."
"We will record your voice and fingerprint so that they remain in the system, and then we will do it again tomorrow when we install it in the house so that they are compatible. You can add the password you want, but always with the access code to the platform. Once your surprise is finished, Sofia must also do the same so that the system recognizes her. As for the people in the service, a fingerprint and facial registration will be made. This way, once they enter the house, they will be registered on the company's platform, and you will receive entry notifications when they are not you and Sofia. We can discuss this in more detail once the installation is complete."
"Don't worry, something tells me that Sofia knows how to do it," I said, and they looked at each other. "You said that only we would have the codes, not the service people."
"Exactly, there are two codes, one for you and one for Sofia. Once you register, the system is activated, and you will be able to enter the password. The access codes will be different for each of you, which helps prevent theft. In addition, the system has a feature that allows you to lock the house from the inside, that is, if you want no one to leave. However, to open it, authorization is required from the company, and it will be verified with the owners to ensure that it is not a security violation."
I hummed under my breath and nodded. "It is a fairly advanced system, more than that of the residences."
"Yes, the system in the residences is more commercial, and each house has its own security code, which is based mainly on the fingerprint. However, this one is more exclusive because it is a unique property."
"And regarding the other security system?"
"It's similar; we can register your fingerprint first so that it can be mobilized, and then, once Sofia has it, we'll register her data."
"Which is, I'm also certain that she will know how to do that. Amelia, as for the other thing..."
"Everything is ready and organized, as Sofia always wanted. Everyone already knows what they should do."
"Are you sure Sofia will like the surprise?" Isaac asked.
"I'm hoping she will, but I don't care because I'm going to keep trying until I get the answer I want."
We completed the signing process, and I went to what would be our future house if Sofia accepted it. I checked that everything was as I wished, and only a few details were missing, but Amelia did a really great job. After all, she is not Sofia's partner for nothing.
Everything will be ready in two days. I talked to my grandfather, and he insisted that I tell my parents, but I didn't want anything that could ruin our happiness, I know that they are capable of doing that, but I promised that I would think about it. When I hung up, I received a call from my beloved.
"Hello, beautiful, I was just about to call you." I greeted her and got comfortable.
"Hello, my Greek god."
"That's new; I like it. Do you miss me? Because I miss you so much," I told her while staring at her beautiful face on the screen.
"No, actually, I don't miss you. Carmen keeps me in good company, Diether pampers me by bringing me lots of sweets and food, my dad calls me every day, my aunt helps me with everything, and Amelia and Isaac barely let me breathe with so much care, so I don't need you." She scoffed while rolling her eyes. There goes her mood swings.
"Ah, is that so? Then, that means I can stay here a while longer." I teased her and saw her face show anger.
"Don't even think about it, Angel; you said you'd arrive in a week, and your days are already running out. Your snail is waiting for you."
I couldn't help but chuckle at the nickname; I'm still not used to it. "Honey, with all the nicknames there are, only you would think of calling our child a snail."
"What's wrong with it? I like it, so let's call them that until we know if they are a boy or a girl. So tell me, Leffman, are there beautiful women out there sticking themselves to you and wanting to die?" She asked in jealousy, and I just love this part of her.
"One or another, but they get sad when I tell them that I am a happily married man."
"You better keep your hands far from what is mine if you don't want to end up in a trash can." She threatened me, and instead of fear, I only smiled in adoration.
"God, I'm dying to see you." The truth is that I am grabbing all the strength I can to not run to where she is.
"I want to see you too; a video call is not the same as having you close to me. By the way, where are you? That's not the hotel room you're staring at, right?" She noticed with narrowed eyes.
I cursed and controlled the emotion on my face. "I'm outdoors; I wanted to clear my mind a little, so I went for a walk."
"But it's too late for you to be on the street. Do me a favor and take care of yourself. Go back to your room, where you are safe."
"Whatever the boss says, don't worry, I will. You better rest now, Sofia; I love you." I kissed my phone.
""I love you too."
The surprise made me forget to pay attention to where I was. One more happy day, and I'll finally see her and our snail again.
