I Want You Back

Chapter 60

Sofia Andrew

Tonight, I found out that I'm in love with someone who doesn't have all the screws in place. After leaving the Eiffel Tower, we went to the Trocadéro Gardens, and the crazy guy started taking photos of me like there was no tomorrow. He would ask people to take photos of us together with the background of the tower, which was lovely, but still. Then we started dancing without music, which made people look at us and laugh. And as if that weren't enough, we almost ended up in jail because the angel got into the Warsaw fountain!

The people who witnessed it encouraged him instead of supporting me, so I had to promise him dinner so he would go out and prevent us from being deported.

"God, is this your way of avoiding my stress?" I frustratedly asked him.

And he had the audacity to laugh at my misery. "No, but I made you laugh, plus I got a free dinner."

I threw my hands in the air. "You're impossible! I should have let the police take you for public disturbance."

"But you didn't."

"Angel, do you have a problem understanding things? Maybe you're not just bipolar."

"I don't have anything except lovesickness because my wife doesn't love me."

"I wonder whose fault it is."

"I do admit that it's mine, but I want to fix that, and you won't let me."

"Do you want to fix it by killing me with stress?"

"I didn't want to stress you out; I just wanted to help you with one of the things you like, and a good event would be great. I remember last year was a success."

My heart skipped a beat, momentarily forgetting my frustration. "Did you see the one from last year?"

"Of course, in fact, I've seen them all. What kind of husband would I be if I didn't attend my wife's events?"

"What kind of husband doesn't tell his wife that he attends her events?"

"We do not get along at that time."

"I don't see the difference right now because we're still the same."

"No, that's not what I meant. We already know that we love each other, that we have been the victims of lies from the people around us, and that our marriage has already been consummated as God intended," he explained, and I flushed. "You blushed; how cute." "Don't make fun of me. Now that I showed you the face behind that woman's face, you decided to believe me and say that you love me. That won't change things between us, Angel."

"Here, why don't we make a deal? While we are on this wonderful trip, you are not going to mention Elisa or anything that will ruin it."

"What? Don't you like me reminding you how stupid you've been for years? Ah, of course not."

"That's not nice, Sofi. I really just want to fix things between us. Won't you let me do it?"

"Angel, what part of the fact that you have hurt, humiliated, and offended me haven't you understood? I'm not going to risk you doing it again, so don't waste your time because I already got off your train and I don't want to get back on it."

I continued walking and left him standing in front of everyone.

As I walked, I decided to check to see if he had attended the events. "Where was the company's first show held, and what was the theme?"

"What?" He frowned before he understood me. "Ah well, the first was in California. The theme, if I remember correctly, was something classic and romantic between blue and white tones. You presented modern and elegant clothing for women with accessories." Okay, that is true, but he could have searched it on the internet. "A lady gave a nice speech at the end of the presentation, but she was not the owner."

"Where was the second one?" I asked with my eyes squinting at him, and he laughed because he knew what I was doing.

"Las Vegas. The theme was more rustic. There were a variety of sports themes that went with the event. You presented clothes for the beach, mountains, and sports. On this occasion, you included men. If I remember correctly, it started an hour later because there was a problem with the sound," he continued, and I was stunned. That isn't on the internet. "The third event and your first international event were in Spain at the Park Hyatt Mallorca, which was very ambitious on your part, by the way. The theme was more neutral because you showed the brand on the outside; therefore, you carried both collections, and it should be noted that it was in the same year that you released the second collection. The tones you used were white, gold, and black. You served Wisqui 18 and the wine from the last harvest, Campillo 57 Gran Reserva 2013 from the D.O. Ca Rioja." All he said was true, and I can't even remember all that.

"Do you want to hear more?" Angel challenged me, and I blinked. "Go on."

"The fourth, fifth, and sixth were done in Canada, Australia, and Germany, and all were done in the same year, two to three months apart, to present the brand and the new collection. Thank God you created men's clothing; I loved the jackets and ordered all the ones you had." "Were you the one who sold out my jackets?" I asked in surprise.

"What can I say? I liked them all. I saw them and thought they were made for me, so I bought them as well as two black and blue suits. It was very elegant." I shut my mouth because yes, I made them with him on my mind. I remember that I saw him wearing a jacket, and I fell in love with it. Then I saw myself designing several models and imagining his style. "The themes were varied in Canada; you used a lot of lights, glamor, and elegance, while in Australia, you went more colorful, and in Germany, you chose to be more masculine with black, white, and gray, which were sophisticated and business tones. In the seventh and eighth..." He was about to continue, but I held up my hand, overwhelmed by the newfound information.

"That's it; you don't have to say more. You convinced me that you've been to all my shows."

"I must admit that I was proud and happy for you, although also upset because I wasn't supposed to be happy for your success; I was supposed to hate you. No one knew that you were the owner and creator of such beauties."

"I don't want people to know, though I know that I will have to tell my dad one day."

"Do you think he doesn't know?"

"No, did he say something to you? I know you two have seen each other."

"He hasn't told me anything, but he knows about mine, so what makes you think that he doesn't know your business? You are his princess, after all."

I took a deep breath at that thought. "You're absolutely right; I'll confirm it once I get back."

We arrived at the Musée du Quai Branly, a French ethnological museum that houses art from various cultures in Africa, Oceania, Asia, and America. Once inside, we dedicated ourselves to admiring all the pieces and works of art. Angel was extremely focused on what he saw, reminding me of his business side, but not as cold. Rather, he seemed informed and educated. The place was beautiful, and I have only been here once. I wish I had my phone to take some photos, but my cell phone was still kidnapped by this man. "You seemed to be so focused." He noticed, and I nodded.

"I like this place. I've only been here once, but I've never been inside."

Angel looked at me in confusion. "How is that possible? You don't visit France without entering the best museum in the country."

"I know, and it is beautiful. I like it; the lighting is colorful, warm or cold, gloomy, dark, and mythical."

"Why am I not surprised that you like it? It looks like you, all dark and cold," he commented, and I frowned.

"I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or an offense."

"Whatever you prefer." He replied with a shrug and returned to work again. "That vegetable wall, the glass, the works, and the Seine gave me an idea. Why don't you make the theme of the event inspired by the most famous sites in France?" "What do you mean?"

"Well, you have the Eiffel Tower, the gardens, the museums, the Seine, and the famous Pont Neuf, among others. If you do an event with those themes, you can mix romance, beauty, and art."

I started to nod when I got his point. It doesn't sound like a bad idea. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.

"And I thought that only cars were your specialty," I said while laughing. "We could do it, but it's broad; we should focus more." He looks at me with proud eyes, and I give him a kiss on the cheek. "A reward for having a brain."

We continued walking until we got to the hotel. "I'll pick you up at eight, so you can look much more beautiful."

"Keep in mind that I will only do it because you made me promise it, and I keep my promises."

""Me too, if you'll let me."

I didn't answer him and entered my room with a silly smile on my face. Angel can really be romantic and sweet if he wants to. Plus, he had good ideas and made me laugh, but just remembering Elisa's name ruins everything. "Sofia, focus on the event, then on Angel. Set your priorities straight. I called Amelia, who already has the clothes, and told her about Angel's idea. She liked it, but we still haven't decided what topic to focus on.

We agreed that she would travel tomorrow after choosing the accessories. I then called Isaac to ask him about how business was going and to implement the second plan to destroy Elisa.

Then I got ready, decided to wear a nice blue dress with black heels, and just put my hair in a ponytail. I wonder where Angel will take me, but I must be strong and not fall into temptation. Angel deserves to suffer. There's a knock on the door, and I wonder how to resist when this man looks more handsome by the minute.

He is in a navy blue suit with a white polo inside. His smell is radiating in the air, and he looks so manly and... Wait, he's wearing one of my suits. "Nice suit," I say mockingly.

"A great designer did it, and she is one of my favorites, but I don't know how to say it, but let me tell you that you look beautiful tonight as always."

"Thank you. Will you tell me where we are going?"

"It's a surprise; come on."

We left, and a car was waiting for us outside. I noticed that it is one of his models, although I swear I have nothing to do with that. I only asked for a car. Angel opens the door for me like a gentleman, and the driver follows his route. "Have you already thought of something for the event?"

"Not yet, but I'll think of something."

"I do not doubt that for a second. The plane must be about to land in the country so that Amelia can go tomorrow. I also spoke with a friend who has a fabric store here in case you need it." "Friend? Here in France?" I asked with jealousy in my tone.

And Angel just laughed. "Yes, a friend is based here in France. We studied together at school. Her family moved here, but we never lost contact, so if you need her, she is at your disposal."

"Mm, okay." I don't know why that bothered me a little, but come on! Who can be friends with such a man and not desire him? "What are you laughing at?" I asked him in annoyance. "Nothing. You're beautiful when you're jealous." He replied with a grin, and I just glared at him.

"I'm not jealous. I just want to finish this dinner so I can focus on my work."

"Could you put the hostility aside tonight and allow me to give you a nice dinner?"

"I'm here with you without wanting to, so be content with that," I told him with a blank face but with a troubled mind and heart.

God, tonight is going to be t*****e because he is so beautiful that I want to eat him with kisses.

A few minutes later, we were on the Seine River with a small ship waiting for us, and I looked at it in surprise.

"Do you want to see Paris from another perspective?" he asked, offering his hand for me to come up. This man does know what he is doing.

As soon as we entered, the romantic classical music invaded my ears. "There is no one there," I told him when I looked around.

"I reserved it just for us."

I gasped a little. "Angel, that must have cost you a lot."

"You're worth it, darling. Also, when has money been a problem for us?"

"Just because we have it doesn't mean we can just waste it."

"No, but once in a while, it's not bad to make a little effort for the woman you love. I don't want them to bother us and to make you feel calm. Besides, this is the only available one."

I just shook my head. "How convenient."

We approached the bow and enjoyed the view of Paris. From here, it looks beautiful-the lights, the bridges, everything.

"My lady, dinner awaits you," he told me as we entered a small booth overlooking the city. It was spacious with dim lights, French music, and candles around the table.

"Provençal tart with fresh tomatoes, peppers, and pine nuts, plus poached egg, Jerusalem artichoke mousseline, roasted eryngii mushrooms, grilled bacon, and red wine reduction juice, is what I decided for the starter; the rest was cucumber and algae because I know you like them." I tried it, and it tasted so delicious. A little while later, the trays of cheese arrive.

"I know you like them, so there are all kinds for you to enjoy."

Like? No. I love cheese!

"I look like a little mouse eating cheese. At home, the maids had to hide it from me because I would finish it in seconds," I shared, and he laughed.

For dinner, I ordered beef fillet with chestnuts and fried mushrooms, and boletus cream with French fries. Angel ordered salmon loin with carrot-flavored mashed potatoes, lemon juice, and vegetables. We shared the food because it was exquisite.

I was enthralled by the landscape and the environment. We saw the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame de Paris, the Orsay Museum, the Pont Alexandre III, the Place de la Concorde, the Petit and Grand Palais, the Pont Marie, and the National Assembly. As if that weren't enough, we passed the golden dome of Les Invalides, the French Parliament, and the former Beaux-Arts train station of the Musée d'Orsay.

"Do you like it?" Angel asked me as we enjoyed the view, and I enthusiastically nodded my head. I felt him hugging me from behind, and I just enjoyed the landscape while he showed me everything and told me stories.

"You know a lot about bridges, museums, and their stories," I noted, trying to get comfortable in his arms.

"I like history and knowing about things. The most beautiful thing a country has is its history and its secrets because things have their origin. It is what makes everything make sense."

"Well, you are very knowledgeable in that part. You serve as a good tour guide."

"No thanks; I'm not really a fan of people. I don't even know how to treat my wife well."

"At least you know. As long as you don't believe in someone else, we're good."

"No, please don't ruin the moment. Better let's move on to dessert." He gave me a light kiss on the lips and guided me back to the table. I had forgotten to see the landscape.

There were all kinds of desserts, and I got overwhelmed. There are coconut, mango, and passion fruit with coconut whipped cream; chestnut and pear Vacherin cake; chocolate truffle; hazelnut cream with crumble topping; bostock brioche; roasted pineapple and vanilla ice cream; and Opéra cake.

"Angel, do you want to make me fat with all these cheeses and desserts?" I whined, and he chuckled.

"If you want more cheese, we can ask for it."

"No, the desserts are good and more than enough, but it's difficult to choose."

"We don't need to choose. Let's try everything. After all, the idea is still missing."

"Angel, we've been sailing for almost two and a half hours."

He feigned shock. "That much time passed already? It felt shorter." He looked at me laughing and invited me to dance, to which I accepted and let myself be carried away by the romance, the atmosphere, the food, and the beautiful landscape.

What can I do? My foolish heart just loves this man so much.
