Chapter 1111: Yanis Doesn't Want to Stay at the Lawrence Group
Zane drove the car, pulling away from Banyan Garden. After getting onto the main road, he finally
spoke, "No, it's Uncle Dylan's idea."
Upon hearing Zane's words, Yanis' brow furrowed slightly, "Uncle Dylan's idea?"
Zane nodded, "Uncle Dylan thinks that if he holds too much power, it might make me uncomfortable,
and some of the senior executives who have always stood by my side might also feel uneasy. So he
wants Phoebe to take on more responsibilities."
"What do you think?" Yanis asked as she looked at Zane.
Zane spoke softly, "Whether it's Uncle Dylan or Phoebe, I don't have any objections. I've always said
that the Lawrence Group isn't just mine."
Yanis nodded, "But Phoebe doesn't want to stay at the Lawrence Group."
"Well, that's not up to her."
In reality, Zane also wished for a bit of relaxation. Currently, Phoebe and he were the only ones
capable of shouldering the Lawrence Group's responsibilities.
He had considered Anika before, but she had been quite determined. She had no interest in the
Lawrence Group's affairs and didn't want to get involved.
Moreover, Anika's circumstances weren't suitable for surviving in the Lawrence Group.
So, the heavy burden fell squarely on Phoebe's shoulders.
Yanis fell silent for a while, recalling what Phoebe had said earlier. After hesitating, she relayed the
conversation to Zane.
After hearing her out, Zane chuckled, "She's quite resourceful. Even if I were to agree, Uncle Dylan
wouldn't, and Auntie Two wouldn't either."
"But he is a member of the Lawrence family after all."
"He's still young. Uncle Dylan will make arrangements when the time comes."
Seeing Zane's response, Yanis didn't say more. After all, Zane wasn't the one with the most authority to
decide on this matter, and neither was she.
Jo's future was in Dylan's hands.
But Lisa's attitude was firm-she wouldn't let Jo into the Lawrence family unless he stayed by Zane's
side.
Yanis was curious about Lisa's insistence on keeping Jo near Zane. Since she wanted Jo to be part of
the family, what difference did it make if he stayed with Uncle Dylan or at the Lawrence's Mansion?
This puzzled Yanis.
"Are you wondering why there would be a difference between Jo staying with Uncle Dylan or at the
Lawrence's Mansion versus staying with me?"
As Yanis was lost in thought, Zane's voice sounded in her ear.
Turning to Zane, Yanis asked seriously, "Is there a difference?"
"In truth, not much of a difference. Lisa simply doesn't trust Grandpa and Uncle Dylan. She's worried
that if Jo stays with them or at the Lawrence's Mansion, he won't be treated well. She's concerned he
might even be sent abroad or somewhere else without her knowledge."
Hearing Zane's explanation, Yanis blinked slightly, "Would he really be sent away?"
Zane fell silent for a moment, "Fifty percent chance."
It meant there was a fifty-fifty chance of Jo being sent away or staying.
"Jo is just a little over ten years old now. Wouldn't it be cruel to send him away?"
"I also lived abroad for a period of time in the past, but after my mom made a big fuss, she brought me
back."
Yanis frowned slightly, "So you also think that if Jo stays with Uncle Dylan or at the Lawrence's Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
Mansion, there's a good chance he might be sent away?"
Zane responded with an affirmative "Mhmm," "That's why Lisa wants Jo to stay with me. This way, she
can see him whenever she wants. But if he stays with Uncle Dylan or Grandpa, the situation would be
different."
"So... you don't plan to keep him?"
Zane's tone was clear and firm, "I won't get involved in this matter, and I won't keep him by my side."
With that said, he continued, "But I can talk to Uncle Dylan and Grandpa, convince them not to send Jo
abroad or elsewhere, and get them to agree to Lisa's visitation rights in the future."
Yanis had mixed feelings about Lisa. She didn't particularly like her, for in some aspects, Lisa reminded
her of Lucia.
Thinking about the things Lucia had done, Yanis had considered asking Zane to stay away from Lisa.
However, rationality told her that Lisa and Lucia were not the same person; they simply shared some
similarities.
Thinking this way brought her some comfort.
Back at D-king Castle, Yanis suddenly remembered Ryan's visit earlier in the day.
At the entrance, Yanis changed her shoes and turned to Zane, softly saying, "Uncle Baxter came this
morning."
Zane was changing his shoes. Upon hearing Yanis' words, he turned to her, "What did he want?"
Yanis signaled for him to finish changing his shoes first.
After Zane was ready, he reached out to hold Yanis' hand and headed towards the living room. As they
walked, he asked, "Why did he come? To invite you to the Baxter residence?"
Yanis responded with a soft sound, "Something like that."
"Did you agree?"
Yanis shook her head, "I told him I need some time to think."
Yanis briefly recounted what Ryan had said earlier in
the day, "I'm just a bit moved. It might be our last meeting."
Zane fell silent for a moment, "Should I accompany you?"
Although Madison's previous decision had been very unfair to Yanis, Madison's current situation was
quite difficult. If Yanis didn't go, Madison might leave with regrets.
But as for Madison's situation, Zane didn't really care. He was only worried that Yanis might regret it
later.
After a pause, Yanis shook her head again, "Let's decide later."
Hearing her response, Zane didn't press further.
"If you decide to go, I'll go with you."
Yanis nodded, "Alright."
Yanis hadn't truly made up her mind, but the next morning, Ryan appeared at D-king Castle bright and
early.
He had arrived shortly after Zane had left, seemingly avoiding running into him again.
Once again, Aunt Gloria opened the door for him.
Upon hearing that the same Mr. Baxter had returned, Yanis couldn't help but frown when she was told
by Aunt Gloria. Suddenly, the charm of the porridge before her disappeared.
Putting down her spoon, Yanis wiped her mouth and stood up, "Aunt Alice, I'm not hungry anymore."
Aunt Alice emerged from the kitchen upon hearing Yanis' words, looking at the untouched porridge in
the bowl. She furrowed her brows slightly, "Mrs. Lawrence, aren't you going to eat a little more?"
Yanis shook her head, "I don't feel like eating anymore. I'll have something later when I'm hungry."
Aunt Alice nodded, "Alright, let me know when you're hungry, and I'll bring you something."
Yanis acknowledged with a sound and walked to the doorway.
She didn't plan on inviting Ryan in. She changed her shoes at the entrance and headed outside.
Ryan was standing at the entrance just like the day before.
When he saw Yanis come out, he looked up and said, "Yanis."
