She never even mentioned Gabe, not once.

Casper couldn't shake off the feeling of unease.

"Alone?" he asked, trying to sound casual.

Eliza looked puzzled. "What do you mean, alone?"

"I mean..." He paused, choosing his words carefully, making sure they were gentle and easy to accept. "Did you come back by yourself? It's snowing pretty hard, and the roads must be slippery. It's not safe to be out there alone."

"Oh," Eliza replied, unfazed. "Yeah, the roads are definitely slick, but don't worry, I came back with Gabe."noveldrama

Casper took a drag from his cigarette, his eyes lost in the swirling snow outside. "Since it's snowing, it's best to stay in this afternoon. I'll come by to pick you up tomorrow."

"Alright."

With that, Casper ended the call, snuffing out his now tasteless cigarette in the ashtray.

Deep down, he knew Eliza wasn't interested in Gabe, but whether Gabe harbored feelings for Eliza, well, that was anyone's guess.

After mulling it over for a moment, he picked up his phone and dialed Allysha.

She was likely knee-deep in the latest gossip, judging by the irritation in her voice. "Hello? Mr. Casper?"

"This business with your so-called boyfriend is making waves," he said, hoping to stress the importance of the situation. "I really hope you can get a handle on this, Allysha. It's crucial for your collaboration with Welton International."

Allysha was well aware of how

rumors could impact her career, but she hadn't anticipated Welton International being the first to feel the effects. "Mr. Casper, this is clearly the paparazzi blowing things out of proportion. I'm not in a relationship, and he's not my

boyfriend. I'm single. Rest assured, it won't affect the endorsement."

"Is that right?" He sounded skeptical, as if to say, would you really deny having a boyfriend just for money? "Then why did you rush to the resort, Allysha?"

"Mr. Casper, Gabe and I are just friends. Whoever he's seeing is none of my concern, and I'm sure he and Ms. Eliza are just friends too. Don't worry, I'll sort this out quickly."

After hanging up, Allysha, fuming, threw her phone across the room.

She turned on her manager, "What's with Casper? Isn't Gabe supposed to be with his wife? If he's worried about her cheating, why dump messon me and threaten my endorsement? I can survive without Welton International's

endorsement!"

Her manager wiped the sweat from his brow. No matter how popular Allysha was, she was still just an artist. Against such a powerful sponsor, she had little leverage.

He was using the endorsement to tighten the screws on her. If the rumors about Gabe and Eliza tainted Eliza's reputation, Casper could blacklist her in an instant.

Kate had been a lesson in the past. No matter how clever she was, Daniel had dealt with her harshly. Whether she was still around was anyone's guess.

To these wealthy men, female celebrities were merely tools, discarded as soon as they outlived their usefulness.

"Allysha, let's focus on Gabe's

situation first. Call him and get him to post on social media clarifying your relationship. He's been wanting to break up with you, right? This could be the perfect chance for him, and he probably won't say no. As for what happens between you two later, we'll figure that out then."

Allysha knew this was what Gabe had been waiting for, but she was reluctant to

let it go.
