Chapter 76 Staying with him 2
And within few minutes, she was already asleep. Damien looked at her and smiled.
And just then, his phone rang. It was his Dad calling.
He rolled his eyes but then he answered the call.
"What?" He said.
"Son, how are you?!" Leo asked and he scoffed.
"You don't need to ask. You never cared before did you?" He asked and Leo sighed.
"Do I have to always prove myself to you? I know you are not out of the country. Son, why don't you come work for me? You are a genius computer literate, skilled in martial arts, and also a damn good hacker. I need people like you with me.."
Damien scoffed immediately.
"Thanks but no thanks, I'm not interested.." He said and made to hang up the call but what he said next made him stop.
"I know you are working for Governor James as his bodyguard or let's say his daughter.. "
Damien's eyes widened and he sighed.
"How did you know?" He asked.
"Well, I saw the video of you protecting his daughter from the angry mob. If you can work for him, why not me? Infact everything that is mine is yours already. Son, I really need you.." He said and Damien
scoffed again.
"I don't need your stupid riches Dad. It's your greed that ruined us, it ruined our family and it ruined mum. Mum left, I never saw her again. Are you happy with that?" He said and hung up immediately.
He looked at Deborah and found her still sleeping.
"Thankfully, she's still asleep. Now that Dad knows that I'm working as James's bodyguard, it's going to be a problem. I have to inform the others.." He mumbled and then sighed. A tear rolled off his cheek and he immediately wiped it off.
"Mum.." ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
"I really miss you.."
Meanwhile Deborah stylishly opened her eyes.

THE NEXT DAY.
Lauren sighed as she looked at her phone. No missed calls, no messages from Deborah. She was really worried about her daughter. Just then, James walked in.
"Hun, are you ready for the press conference?" He asked and Lauren shook her head.
"Hun,aren't you worried about our daughter? She hasn't called nor sent any messages. She also left late last night." Lauren said worriedly.
James said and held her shoulders.
"She's fine. I'm sure she is and besides she's old enough to take care of herself. She's probably in a friend's house.." James said.
"What? Aren't you even worried at all? Your daughter is missing!" Lauren countered him.
"Look, Hun, I'm worried about her but then, we have another press conference today and the plan is going to take place, I'm going to be in danger. Everything is just messy at the moment but when we come back, I will look for her.." James said and Lauren scoffed and then removed his hands from her shoulder.
"You are unbelievable. All you care about is your political ambition. I'm not going anywhere until I find my daughter!" She yelled.
"What do you want me to do? Huh? I'm trying my best! I'm trying all I could. All this would have never happened if it was not for Langford.."
"Him again? Why bring him up? He has nothing to do with anything happening to you and he's even kidnapped now. It's almost going to two months that he went missing and you are still blaming him!"
"Why do you always like supporting him. Sometimes I'm being forced to think that you and him share a secret relationship. What's your relationship with that guy?!" He yelled and she slapped him.
"I can't believe you would say this but remember all I did was for your sake, and only for your sake!" She yelled and he scoffed.
"Well, I'm grateful for that. And if you like, don't come to the conference. I don't give a damn.." He said angrily and walked out.
Lauren sighed and fell on the bed.
"No matter what, I will never let you find out the truth…"
"I will never let you find out that Tyson is not your son but Langford's. You will always think of him as your son.." She thought and clenched her fists angrily.
**
DAMIEN'S MANSION.
Damien groaned and coughed as he walked out. Smoke was everywhere. He covered his nose as he walked to the kitchen.
"What's going on here?" He asked and Deborah turned back to him with a smile.
"I'm cooking.." She said and he immediately went and turned off the gas cooker.
He looked at the food she was cooking and most of it were burnt.
"Gosh! What are you doing? Are we going to eat burnt spaghetti for breakfast.."
Deborah dropped the spoon.
"Can you blame me? I was born with a sliver spoon and I never learnt how to cook.." She said and he sighed.
He held her shoulders.
"Go sit, I'll make breakfast.." He said and rolled up his sleeves. He started slicing the onions.
"Do you know how to cook?" She asked.
"Of course I do…"
"Your mum taught you?" She deliberately asked and he stopped slicing the onions.
"Of course.." He muttered and she smiled.
"I know you don't have a mum and you are just pretending to be my dad's bodyguard. It's clear that you hate him and you are working to bring him down.."
"But strangely, I'm not scared of you and I feel comfortable with you but then, I don't even know if I should trust my family anymore. With what they did, they can do more.." She thought staring at him.
"Do you need any help?" She asked and he smiled and looked at her.
"No, I wouldn't want you to burn all the food again.." He said laughing and she glared at him angrily.
"Hey, it's not my fault that I was born a governor's daughter and besides, I can make simple noodles and eggs.."
"Yeah, right.." Damien said laughing more.
"Hey!" She yelled and he laughed the more.
