Please don’t go!
“And how come that you don’t know?” Lucille furrowed her forehead. “You were the one who told your parents to end him, didn’t you?”
“I don’t know. I mean, I don’t know what’s happening. Please, I need to see my Emerson. Bring him back to me!” Rebecca screamed.
“You’re really out of your mind. How can you see him if just a while ago he was murdered by your father’s men?” Lucille asked.
“Wha-what? Dad! Dad! What did you do?” Rebecca shouted while hurrying to get out of the room, then accidentally slipped off the stairs and fell down while uttering the words, “I need to see him.”
“Rebecca!” Lucille yelled. “Help! Help! Rebecca fell down the stairs! Help!”
Bernadette and Elfedio were outside the mansion when they heard Lucille screaming for help. They got inside when they found out about Rebecca.
“Call, call an ambulance!” Bernadette ordered as she embraced her unconscious daughter.
A few moments later, at Eastern Avenue Hospital, the couple were disquiet. Especially Bernadette, who walked back and forth worried that something wrong could happen to her daughter.
“Just calm my wife, I know everything will be fine,” Elfedio said.
“How can you say that after what’s happening to our daughter?” Bernadette exclaimed. “Are you not worried about her?”
“No-that’s not what I mean, but you know, panicking can’t help us.”
In the grassland, Rebecca’s world tottered when she saw three men chasing Emerson. They were holding their high-caliber pistols pointing at him. Laterally, a gunshot deafened her, then she saw her boyfriend crawling, trying to escape from those cruel men.
Rebecca’s eyes welled up with tears as she saw her boyfriend in that terrible situation. Sweat, blood, and tears diffused on his face, and she wanted to wipe them for him.
“Emerson!” Rebecca screamed when those men were about to shoot him.
Her voice echoed several times in the wilderness, and their attentions were turned to her. Then, after a gunshot, all she saw was blood streaming and tainting her clothes. “No!”
“Doc, please, what’s happening to my daughter?” Bernadette asked in a worried manner. “Why is she quivering like that? Doc!”
The doctor advised, “You need to stay calm ma’am if you don’t want to go first before your daughter. It’s caused by her subconscious fear. Your daughter might be facing a problem.”
“Please doc, don’t let her last long in this condition. We can’t endure seeing her suddenly quiver,” Bernadette requested.
“Don’t worry, ma’am; we’ll do everything we can to get her back to normal as soon as possible.” The doctor turned back and left the room.
“Oh my daughter! Please don’t give up; we don’t know what to do if you’ll be gone.” Bernadette begged while looking at her daughter’s face, which was still pretty although she was unconscious.
“It was all my mistake. If I hadn’t made a quick decision, our daughter might not be in this condition right now. It was all my mistake that I told those men to kill the gardener,” Elfedio conceded.
“You’re starting again. Don’t think like that. Our daughter is in this situation because of Emerson. Since he arrived here, bad luck has struck, so you must not regret that you killed him.”
“But, my wife, the doctor told us that Rebecca is afraid-”Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“Stop! You must not think that she’s afraid because her boyfriend died. It’s not because of that. She’d just fallen down the stairs and was comatose, but as the doctor said, they’d do everything they could to wake her up.”
“Yup, that’s what they always tell anyone, but I’m afraid that our,” Elfedio paused, then got close to his wife and sat down beside her. “I don’t know what to do if she won’t wake up.”
After a week or two, Rebecca woke up from a nightmare, but what she found in the world of living was more than just a nightmare. that she would choose to sleep rather than wake up to reality.
“How could you do that, dad?” Rebecca chided while crying.
“I’m so sorry. We thought that you wouldn’t care if we ended his.” Elfedio hadn’t finished saying his words about seeing his daughter.
“How could you do that? I thought that we were okay, and now I find out that you killed the man whom I fought against you?”
“We’re so sorry, child. We really didn’t mean to hurt you.”
“But your sorry can’t bring back Emerson’s life!” Rebecca exclaimed angrily. “I think it will be fine if you’re not my parents!”
“You! How can you say that?” Bernadette scowled and attempted to slap her daughter’s face but Elfedio stopped her. “After all the sacrifices we made for you-you’ll disregard us just because of that man?”
“Just calm my wife, we can’t blame our daughter, I must be the one to be blamed for everything that happens,” Elfedio said.
Rebecca didn’t say anything, but her tears expressed how sad she felt that her own father told those men to kill Emerson. She attempted to stand up. She wanted to see her boyfriend, even just for the last time.
“Child! Please don’t go!” Elfedio implored.
Without listening to her father, Rebecca ran out of the hospital and rode in a taxi, although she didn’t know where to go. As soon as they passed by the vast grassland, Rebecca remembered her dream.
This was the place where they shot him, Rebecca thought. She got off the taxi and continued walking down the path.
“Emerson! Are you here?” Rebecca called, looking for something she couldn’t find like an insane woman. “Please show your face to me if you’re listening!”
The world suddenly turned dark as Rebecca lost consciousness. As the darkness covered her world, all she could see was Emerson’s obscure image. She wanted to touch his face, but he was just passing through her hands.
“Who are you? What are you going to do to me?” Rebecca asked in nervousness when everything gradually became apparent.
“The young lady of San Jose!” Someone exclaimed from the back.
As Rebecca stood up and turned around, she saw a lot of men and, among them, the mafia boss, Brandon. They were holding guns, and they definitely wouldn’t hesitate to shoot her up.
