Chapter 829 Making Phoebe Notorious
Vanessa was furious. She slammed her phone on the table, her eyes filled with venom. She looked up at her secretary and ordered, "Contact the Marketing Account immediately. I refuse to believe we can't ruin Phoebe's reputation."
The secretary had no choice but to contact the Marketing Account to continue spreading negative news about Phoebe. However, after Facebook limited their reach, no matter how hard they tried, they couldn't get the news to spread.
Vanessa couldn't find any negative trending topics about Phoebe on Facebook, so she called Facebook to negotiate, offering to pay for a trending topic.
As soon as the other party heard it was to buy negative trending topics about Phoebe, they hung up without a word.
Vanessa was seething with anger. Why was the whole world on Phoebe's side? Why was everyone against her?
Phoebe sat in the interrogation room with her eyes closed, resting. After a while, two uniformed officers walked in.
The two officers pretended to start an interrogation, questioning Phoebe about the source of her funds, hinting that she was laundering money abroad.
Phoebe knew they had no evidence, so she remained silent no matter what they said.
Seeing that they couldn't get anything out of her, the two officers went through the motions and left shortly after.
Phoebe was detained for a total of four hours until her lawyer rushed in and negotiated with the financial crime unit, finally securing her release.
The lawyer said to her, "Ms. Ziegler, there are a lot of reporters outside. Should we avoid them and leave through the back door?"
Phoebe squinted her eyes. Vanessa had gotten smarter, knowing how to ruin her image.
She said calmly, "No need, I actually want to talk to them."
"Ms. Ziegler," the lawyer tried to remind her, "with so many reporters here, they must have gotten some news."
But Phoebe waved her hand dismissively, "It's fine, I'm not afraid."
After speaking, she put on her coat, grabbed her bag, and walked out. As soon as she reached the door, a crowd of people swarmed around her, pointing cameras at her, with flashlights going off incessantly.
The reporters stared at Phoebe like predators eyeing their prey, eager to pounce.
"Ms. Ziegler, it's said that your company's funds come from improper sources and that you're involved in laundering money abroad. Is this true?"
"Ms. Ziegler, please answer."
"Ms. Ziegler, did you really do something illegal?"
"Ms. Ziegler, did you..."
Phoebe's gaze swept over them. The sharpness in her eyes made them hesitant to meet her gaze, but they stood their ground.
She suddenly let out a cold laugh, "I don't know where you got such baseless information, but the innocent have nothing to fear. I have a clear conscience."
"If that's the case, Ms. Ziegler, why were you called in by the financial crime unit? Isn't it because you did something illegal? I heard that before you went to Caneda, you left the Reynolds family with nothing. Where did you get the money to start your business?" a reporter asked aggressively.
Phoebe stared at her, "Don't you already have the answer in your heart?"
The reporter was left speechless by her question. She had come with an agenda, "So, Ms. Ziegler, you really are involved in illegal money laundering abroad?"
Phoebe didn't answer her but instead said to her lawyer, "Mr. Caudill, remember this reporter. Sue her for defamation."
Theron Caudill immediately looked at the name tag hanging around the reporter's neck and said, "Ms. Ziegler, I've noted it down. I'll send her a legal notice."

The reporter's face turned grim. Seeing that Phoebe was not to be trifled with, the other reporters fell silent, not daring to say more.
As Phoebe walked forward, they all stepped aside, watching her leave.
"No wonder she was with Mr. Reynolds. She's really impressive," one reporter whispered to a colleague.
Another reporter said, "Good thing I didn't rush up to confront her. Phoebe can run an entertainment company and hold her ground in this industry; she definitely knows her
stuff."
The reporter who had been noted down looked particularly set. After everyone left, she took out her phone and called Vanessa.
"Miss Fitzroy, the information you gave me was completely false. Now Phoebe has a grudge against me, and I'll get a legal notice tomorrow. What should I do now?" Vanessa frowned, "She got out so quickly?"
"You made it all up. Don't ever give me tips again. I don't trust you," the reporter said angrily before hanging up.
Vanessa threw her phone again, leaning on her desk, her chest heaving with anger. Damn it, Phoebe got out of the financial crime unit so quickly, all her efforts were in vain.
Phoebe was sitting in Guadalupe's car when she received a call from Taylor.
"Phoebe, what's going on? You promised to cook for Theodore for a month, and it's only the second day, and you're not going. You have no integrity!" Taylor was furious on the other end of the line. She knew Phoebe couldn't be trusted, even her attempts to make amends were half-hearted.
If she hadn't called Theodore to subtly ask what he had for dinner, she wouldn't have known Phoebe was just going through the motions.
Phoebe looked at her watch; it was already past eight. She had just come out of the financial crime unit, exhausted both physically and mentally.

She said, "Something came up today. I'll head over right now."
"Phoebe, you better keep your word. I'll be supervising every day. You promised a month, not a day less, got it?" Taylor said angrily.
"I got it."
After hanging up, Phoebe said to Theron, "Take me to the Imperial Apartment, please. Thank you for today."
Theron turned the car around and took Phoebe to the Imperial Apartment. She took the elevator up, scanned her fingerprint, and entered the apartment.
The apartment was dark, with only the light from outside faintly illuminating the room. It seemed like someone was sitting on the sofa.
She turned on the light and saw Theodore sitting silently on the sofa. She said, "I had some unfinished business today. Have you eaten? If not, I'll cook something right away."
Theodore turned his head to look at her, his eyes scanning her face before he said nonchalantly, "The food is ready. Just serve it, and join me for dinner."noveldrama
Phoebe was taken aback and couldn't help but mutter, "If someone already cooked, why did she call me to cook?"
Theodore, sitting far away, didn't hear her muttering clearly and frowned, "What did you say?"
"Ah, nothing." Phoebe changed into slippers, put her bag on the shoe cabinet, and quickly walked into the kitchen.
There was food on the dining table that had been sitting out for a while. She checked
the temperature; it was a bit cold, so she put it in the microwave to heat it up.
She brought the heated dishes out and called Theodore to come and eat.
As they sat down, Phoebe smelled the aroma of the food and realized how hungry she was. She picked up a fork, "Let's eat. I'm starving."
Theodore looked up at her and suddenly asked, "Where did you go this afternoon?"
What do you think?
