Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1753

"Fiona almost burst out laughing—this was logic gone wild!

Some folks just had the most outrageous imaginations and weren't afraid to say the craziest things. With a resigned sigh, she leaned back against the couch, crossing her legs with a confident smirk. "It's not that I look down on folks with regular jobs; I just look down on you, and that's all there is to it. Don't twist my words. What does your reluctance to refund have to do with us? Since I took over, the tag shows it's been sitting here for two months. Jane hasn't picked it up or paid the balance, she only paid a deposit. I bet you've tried reaching her countless times, to no avail, right?"

Fiona's words drained the color from the saleswoman's face. She hadn't expected Fiona to piece together so much so quickly. Panic clawed at her insides, mixed with the fear of having to pay up in the end. Clearly, Fiona was a force to be reckoned with.

Her logic was spot-on, and the saleswoman couldn't afford to underestimate her.

"So what? You took the dress, and that's not changing!" the saleswoman retorted defiantly.

She assumed as long as she denied everything, she'd be in the clear. After all, the store's security footage wasn't just handed out, and conveniently, the camera had broken yesterday afternoon. The repair guy hadn't even come by yet, so there was no way to prove if she was lying or not.

Feeling a surge of relief, she thought of the $25,000 commission she wouldn't have to lose. If Jasmine and Fiona bought the dress, she'd still pocket that commission. The thought made her giddy.

"Sure, you've got a point, but you missed a crucial detail. You think the store's cameras are down, and there's no proof you handed us the dress. But, hate to break it to you, I always carry a mini camera. If you doubt the footage on me, Jasmine and I have been sitting on this couch the whole time, and the outside camera covering this area is working just fine. It captured the whole scene of you bringing us the dress."

The saleswoman's face turned ghostly pale. She hadn't anticipated Fiona's meticulous planning!

She had completely forgotten about the exterior camera, and now she was in a tight spot.noveldrama

With a face pale as a ghost, the saleswoman was on edge, but Fiona didn't give her any time to regroup, continuing in her calm yet firm tone.

"You thought Jasmine and I were easy targets? We were drawn to this custom dress right away. Since Jane hasn't picked it up or paid the remainder, you let us try it on. If we liked it, you'd likely double the price. Even if Jane came to claim it later, you'd just say it was sold by mistake, apologize to Jane, and maybe get her to buy more stuff, boosting your commission. Am I right?"

Fiona wasn't sparing her any dignity because, frankly, some people just didn't deserve it!

Fiona's words hit Jane like a ton of bricks, each one landing with precision. Her eyes, now as cold as a snake's, fixed on the saleswoman. She had caught every word Fiona said. Jane had always had a good impression of this store and was a regular, often bringing friends along. "
