Chapter 1744
This whole mix-up really stirred things up.
"You've got the wrong idea. I'm just here to pick someone up, not to start a shift at a club," Fiona explained, feeling a bit exasperated but grateful for the driver's concern. Honestly, if it had been someone else, they might not have even bothered to warn her, let alone ask her to leave the car. She could've ended up in an embarrassing situation.
"Thanks, could you please take me to my actual destination?" Fiona said, her demeanor brightening as she got back into the car. Once the driver caught on to the mix-up, he didn't say much else. He simply hit the gas and they were off, reaching her destination in no time.
As soon as Fiona stepped out of the car, there was Jackson at the entrance, looking less than thrilled. Next to him stood a woman, and though she wasn't with him, the sight of them together rubbed Fiona the wrong way.
With a bit of a scowl, Fiona made her way over to Jackson. His expression shifted to joy as soon as he saw her, and he slipped an arm around her waist, leaning in close. "Finally, you're here," he said warmly.
Fiona just gave a little huff, choosing not to reply.
The woman standing nearby, upon spotting Fiona, couldn't hide her disdain. Fiona's natural beauty, youth, and the effortless vibe she gave off were in a league of their own, something the woman couldn't match.
There were a few guys around too, clearly just out of the club, each with women dressed to impress, their perfume so heavy it nearly made Fiona's eyes water. Covering her nose, she said coolly, "Let's get out of here."
Jackson chuckled softly, ruffling her hair. "Sure thing," he replied.
The others gawked at Jackson like he was a completely different person. Inside the club, he'd been the picture of self-control, not showing the slightest interest in the women there. Some even speculated he might not be into women at all. Yet here he was, with a gorgeous young woman, and what was more, he seemed to hang on her every word.
"Mr. Woods, aren't you going to introduce us to your friend?" the woman, who had
been glaring at Fiona with icy hostility, asked with a forced smile.

Jackson's head away, slid her hands into her pockets, and gave the woman a look that said it all. "The club's star attraction, huh? You've got the looks to back it up, and the price tag to prove it." noveldrama
The woman's face went pale.
Fiona hit the nail on the head. The woman was the club's most captivating figure, commanding a hefty fee just to be around. She'd been drawn to Jackson's charm and was willing to lower her standards to be near him. sŵnovel
Plus, she knew Jackson was part of the illustrious Woods family, a status not easily overlooked. She had to make the first move.
"Too bad for you, darling. He's only got eyes for me," Fiona said, casting a glance at Jackson before turning back to the woman. "I'm Fiona, the sole heir to the Stonnell family."
In an instant, the color drained from everyone's faces. They hadn't expected the young woman in front of them to have such a prominent background or unique status. No wonder she was with Jackson.
It was like a storybook pairing, leaving everyone else feeling completely out of their depth.
