Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1742

"Amy, you've got it all wrong," Shelly said, casually slinging an arm over Amy's

shoulder while holding onto Fiona's hand. Her lips curled into a playful grin as she

added, "This guy's a real mystery back in the States."

"Oh really? What's so mysterious about him?"

Their light-hearted exchange hinted to Fiona that they were up to no good, and

she decided not to waste her energy on it.

"I heard there's this family in the States that moved from a small town about thirty

years ago. Word is they stumbled upon a huge fortune. The year they arrived,

they were throwing money around, just trying to cement their spot. But nobody

knows where the money came from," Shelly shared, causing quite a buzz. Even

Fiona couldn't resist raising an eyebrow as she sized up the young man in front of

them.

Thirty years ago? Could this be linked to Jackson's parents? It seemed too

coincidental.

Nash, standing nearby, looked ready to chime in, but Fiona gently grabbed his

arm, shaking her head slightly, signaling him to hold off.

Fiona was up to speed with recent happenings in the States, but digging up stuff

from thirty years ago was a different ball game.

"I've heard that too," Amy chimed in.

Their well-timed performance left the young man looking as pale as a sheet, his

earlier calm completely shattered.

"You folks who grew up in the States

have no clue what's going on in our

hearts!" The young man shook with

anger, glaring at the crowd before

him. Even though his family had

firmly set roots in the States they

stiff dragged up the past.

Why should he forever be labeled by his humble beginnings?

"I don't get what's on your mind. It

doesn't matter where you're from;

it's all the same. You're the one

seeing yourself as an outsider.

Who's to blame for that? We've

never looked down on anyone fromnoveldrama

elsewhere. Survival of the fittest is

just how the world works? If you

can't cut it, don't blame where you

came from," Amy shot back with a

sharp look.

Fiona knew what Nash was about to do. After a few quick taps on her phone, she

stepped up to him, her voice cool and detached.

"Whether it's the States or the Capital, if you can't change where you come from,

then change yourself. And if you can't do that, well, maybe it's time to call it quits!"

With that, they turned and walked away, leaving no room for further arguments.

Fiona wasn't interested in wasting any more time there. As more people gathered,

she had no desire to be the center of a spectacle.

After leaving, they headed to a

nearby restaurant. As soon as they

sat down, Amy noticed the buzz on

the school forum. It was all about

Fiona speculations about her looks,

gossip about her being involved with

rich folks, or questioning why she'd

sign up if she didn't care about

credits.

There was pity, debate, outrage, and a fair share of self-righteous opinions.

When Amy mentioned it, Shelly was the first to react, even before Fiona had a

chance to speak. She quickly grabbed her phone and called in reinforcements.
