Finding Love in the Boss’s Embrace After Divorce

Chapter 47

Chapter 47

Chapter 47 Business Is Business

After having sex, Evelyn was so tired that she collapsed in the scat and couldn’t sit up straight. She looked at the time. There were only 20 minutes left before work. She regretted it so much that she almost slapped herself.

She had to be out of her mind to reason with him. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

On the other hand, the man next to her was wearing a tie in high spirits. It didn’t affect him at all.

Before getting out of the car, Evelyn was cursing in her heart. She didn’t know if it was because of his conscience, but Huston actually stopped her. “In the future, I won’t interfere in your work.”

Evelyn’s hand that was pulling the car door paused and she looked back suspiciously. “Really?”

The man sneered. “Do you think I want to care about you?”

She muttered softly, “I think so.”

“What?”

She put on a fake smile. “Thank you for your great kindness. I won’t let you off even if I become a ghost.”

“Even if you’re a ghost, I can still make you feel good…” Before he could finish his words, a soft touch suddenly appeared on his lips.

uston’s lips curled into a smile as he pulled her hand away. “Let’s go.”

She got out of the car and ran into the elevator. Without waiting for him to catch up, she hurriedly closed the elevator door. He stood still and thought of her blushing face.

His fatigue from the morning had mostly dissipated. It was rare for him to be in such a relaxed mood. He thought to himself, “She’s so shy now. What should she do in the future?”

When she entered the office, there were still ten minutes left before the official start of work. She did not forget to bring a bottle of drinks for Ada.

“Thank you.”

“Not to mention it.” She finally heaved a sigh of relief when she sat down.

After this morning’s incident, although Eva was dissatisfied with her, she was no longer asked to sort out the information. Instead, a senior lawyer named Charlie Athena was arranged to instruct Evelyn. He handled countless big or small cases and was good at handling cases of business disputes.

Stella Greene, the newcomer who joined the law office at the same period as Evelyn, was also arranged to follow Charlie.

In the conference room, Charlie was wearing a black suit and a tie neatly. He was more than 1.8 meters tall and looked righteous,

which made his handsome face look sharper.

Stella’s eyes widened, and she couldn’t help but smile. She was glad that she had such an instructor.

“Let me introduce myself. I’m Charlie Athena. I am 28 years old. And I graduated from the University of Toronto Law School. You can call me Lawyer Athena, or you can directly call me by my name. It’s up to you.” The man’s clear voice sounded.

Stella’s smile grew sweeter. “Lawyer Athena.”

“Lawyer Athena,” Evelyn also greeted obediently. “What a coincidence. We’re schoolmates.”

“Yes.” Obviously, Charlie had a simple understanding of the basic information of the two newcomers. He looked at his young schoolmate a few times and said, “But there is no friendship in the company. Everything should be done according to official principles. I don’t care how you join the company. It’s the same as long as you are under my command. You are either qualified to stay in this job or find another way. Do you understand?”

It was obvious that he was talking to Evelyn. Since he was so mean when they met for the first time, Eva must have said something to him.

Evelyn was not surprised. “Don’t worry, Lawyer Athena. If I’m incompetent, I’ll quit and leave.”

There was a hint of anger in her words. Charlie was slightly stunned and then smiled. “Very good. I admire your courage and insight.”

There wasn’t much goodwill in her eyes, but more of a judgment.
