Chapter 2357
Chapter 2357
Xavier didn't bother discussing the outcome of his blind date and went straight upstairs.
Hannah Hanson came from the kitchen, holding a bowl of ginseng soup, frowning as she spoke, "They seemed like such a good match. I can't believe it didn't work out. What exactly is Gonzalez looking for? Give me a clue so I can keep an eye out, save me from running around like a headless chicken, always missing the mark."
Mr. Hanson took a sip of the ginseng soup and said calmly, "You can't blame Gonzalez for today. It was Miss Raye who wasn't interested, not him." Hannah quickly added, "Right, I'm not blaming Gonzalez. I'm just worried about him, that's all."
Mr. Hanson responded, "I understand your concern, but these things can't be rushed. It's all about finding the right person at the right time." "You're absolutely right!" Hannah agreed with a smile, though disappointment weighed heavily on her heart. How high were Carol's standards to overlook Gonzalez?
Upstairs, Xavier returned to his room and texted Norah, "Thanks for today!"Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
Norah replied promptly, "No thanks needed. I did it for myself."
Staring at the message, Xavier suddenly found himself at a loss for words. After some thought, he decided to use a tone of elder's advice, "That Larry, better keep your distance. He's bad news."
On the other side, Norah couldn't help but smile broadly, feeling a profound sense of joy. Lying on her bed, she couldn't keep the grin off her face. Henson had asked her to wait a couple more days, but she couldn't help being honest with him, "I've already deleted him."
A few seconds later, he replied, "Hmm."
Norah then asked, "What were you up to this afternoon?"
"Visited an old friend."
"Which old friend? Do I know them?"
"Wolf."
Norah's heart skipped a beat at the mention of that name. Estelle Macclain had returned from Citadel and, together with Xavier, had purchased a burial plot for Wolf. She too had paid her respects on the day they laid his ashes to rest.
Biting her lip, she typed, "Can I come with you next time?"
It took him two minutes to respond, "I'll be leaving at 1:30 PM. Have lunch, then wait for me outside the hotel."
Norah's excitement almost made her jump out of bed, but then she remembered the solemnity of paying respects and quickly calmed her enthusiasm before replying, "Okay, it's a date!"

On the fifth day of the New Year, in C City, after four days at the estate, their holiday was nearly over. The group discussed heading to the old town's cultural festival that day, and if it got too late, they would stay overnight, returning to the Jarvis family estate early the next morning to bid Mr. Carnes farewell. This would mark the end of their New Year's trip to C City.

Just as dawn broke, Sylvia Jarvis woke up. By the faint morning light seeping through the window, she admired the sleeping man beside her; his long, closed eyes, the bridge of his nose, his thin lips, and his jawline sharp and determined.
The room was always kept at a
constant temperature, and the man had kicked off the light blanket to his waist in the night, revealing his broad shoulders and well-defined abs. Sylvia couldn't resist reaching out to touch, her hand lingering with affection.
Suddenly, he caught her hand, his voice raspy with sleep but undeniably sexy, "Not satisfied yet?"
Sylvia moved closer, her gaze flirtatious, "High activity level, burns calories fast."
Gabriel half-smiled, his eyes
half-closed. In the dim light, his rugged face softened as he traced his fingers gently across her face from her eyebrows down to her chin. Locked in his gaze, Sylvia's look was sultry and deep, turning to press a kiss on his fingertips.
