Chapter 58: Let’s Go To Somewhere Else
At the same time, another person noticed him. The restaurant manager quickly came over from his place at the reception desk.
He smiled and stopped in front of Ethan. “Mr. Parker, your room is upstairs.” After he’d finished speaking, he made a gesture to indicate that he would personally lead them upstairs.
Kylie was astounded. She followed the manager when she felt Ethan’s hand soothingly pat her arm.
Khloe was pissed off. She couldn’t stand this anymore.
She suddenly shouted: “First come first serve, why is there no private room for us?”
She had planned to ask the waiter to deliver the meal to her room, but Aiden had said that the atmosphere here was different from other restaurants. So they had come.
Then she had proposed that they book a table in the private room because she was a celebrity. She was afraid of being photographed by paparazzi or by fans and judged for her inelegant table manners.
No celebrity could be graceful all day, and not everyone’s camera had a beautifying function.
However, the receptionist had said that the private room had been booked, and couldn’t be given to her unless the other guests canceled it.
They entered the restaurant together, so even if the other guests had canceled their reservation, Aiden and Khloe should have been the first to be served. Why had the receptionist given it to Kylie?
Aiden was scared now that Khloe had directly cast a stone at Ethan, so he tried to pull her aside.
But Khloe disregarded his obstruction and threw his hands off of her.
“Where is your manager? I have a complaint.” She took off her sunglasses, chin up. “If I say that your restaurant dishes are not good, the service will be bad. I believe that you’ll be a top search topic on Twitter at that time…”
The manager who was walking in front of Ethan had had a smiling face, but now he suddenly turned serious.
“Young lady, we do business with good faith. This gentleman made a reservation as soon as he arrived at the hotel.” He paused, then continued: “Even if he had not come until closing time, we would have given him our warmest reception.”
Khloe was shocked. She hadn’t thought that he’d made a reservation.
How could he, such a high-ranking man, book a table for himself?
And for Kylie…?
Her hand, which was hanging by the side of her body, clenched tightly into a fist. Khloe heard people whisper something.
“Does she look like a movie star?”
“It’s her. She is usually so cute, how could she be so unruly…”
The guests at another table also whispered:
“God, I watched the Tea House on TV tonight. She played a role in it. I think she’s good at acting. I even wanted to be her fan.”
“It’s ridiculous to be a fan of such a star.”
The discussion was getting louder and louder. Someone even took out their phone to take pictures. Khloe became nervous. But, she was an actor, so she could turn it around.
“Sorry, everyone. Sorry manager.” Khloe apologized to the guests with a smile, “I’m recording a show. What I said just now we’re all my lines. Sorry to bother you. It’s my fault.”
All the guests were shocked. There were no cameras at all.
Even Aiden was shocked. He could totally not understand her words.
Just as the guests began to question her, Khloe took off a brooch from her chest and said: “To achieve the desired effect, the director chose a micro camera. Your reactions are the recognition of my good acting. Thank you.”
To make them believe this, Khloe made another phone call, then nodded and smiled to the public.
“Thanks to all of you. My director is satisfied with my performance.” As she finished, she said to the manager standing upstairs: “Sorry to disturb you. It’s my fault. Today is my treat, for all of the guests.”
Some guests didn’t even know what had happened but believed her.
“She’s a really good actor. Acting anytime, and anywhere.”
“This kind of show is very popular now. Doing a basic task or… things like that?”
“I heard that a TV show was recorded here. It might be true.”
“Khloe, we are your fans, could we take pictures?”
Khloe smiled sweetly and nodded. “Yeah, No problem. But I didn’t put any makeup on today. So please photoshop me charmingly.”
She was too enthusiastic that some guests totally believed her. “Thanks for dinner. Could I have your autograph?”
When she turned her head, she saw that a man was posting the comments on Twitter.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
He had caught the moment when her chin had been raised in arrogance and wrote: “Khloe is pissed off and lost her temper.”
But after what he’d just experienced, he deleted the last post and commented: “Met Khloe when we had dinner. She really is a drama queen. And she is generous to treat us to dinner.”
Khloe finally became easy again, and her heart began to calm down.
The image that she maintained with her best efforts, couldn’t be destroyed here, and in front of Kylie.
Two young girls walked over to Khloe. In order to bring herself down to their level, she got down on one knee, which left a good impression. They said that she was nice to her fans and didn’t put on airs.
Kylie stood at the stairs, with no reaction. In her eyes, the drama queen’s improvisation performance was not a big deal for her, because she had witnessed that kind of performance many times.
She pulled at Ethan’s arm. “Shall we go?”
The manager came to himself, nodded shyly, then led them to the room.
After the episode, Khloe was embarrassed to have dinner there. She waved goodbye to everyone after telling the restaurant manager to count all the guests’ bills to her room number.
When she was out of the restaurant, she threw her sunglasses on the ground then stepped on them angrily.
“Khloe, what are…?” Aiden was confused by her actions.
“What else could I do?” Her eyes were full of tears, and her lips were shaking. “I was pissed off by Kylie, so I lost my head and said it like that. Would you be happy if everyone said I was not good?”
“I didn’t mean that.” Aiden held her gently in comfort. “It’s going to be fine. Don’t be angry. Let’s go somewhere else.”
