Dumping Him for His Uncle (Natasha and Zachary)

Chapter 27

"I thought you couldn't handle it," Natasha said as she wiped her mouth with satisfaction after finishing the meal.

She had ordered more food, and the five of them were now full, their stomachs round from the indulgence.

As they left the restaurant, they spotted Julian holding a bag of grilled sausages and some fried cheese curds in one hand while happily munching on grilled flatbread topped with onions and cilantro.

Zachary cleared his throat, reminding him. Julian quickly swallowed and was about to toss the rest of his food into the trash. He didn't have the nerve to bring grilled flatbread into Zachary's Maybach.

"Don't throw it away yet. Mr. Foster, I'm sure you're not in a rush to go back, right?"

Natasha instinctively thought it would be a waste to throw it away, and her question just hit the right spot.

"I'm not in a hurry," Zachary replied.

Upon hearing this, Julian's face broke into a wide grin again. "Then I'll wait for you guys to return."noveldrama

Seeing this, Liana and Owen decided not to stick around. Still staying in the university dorms, Xavier had to leave before curfew.

"Next time, I'll treat you all properly," Xavier said with a playful grin, jumping on his motorcycle and zipping away.

"Since you're not in a rush, how about we take a stroll around here?" Natasha suggested. Standing in the cold wind all the time wasn't comfortable, and she needed to find something to talk about.

So, Natasha led him through the nearby shopping district. "Actually, the entertainment options here are pretty saturated already. Opening another mall doesn't seem necessary," she said thoughtfully.

As much as she considered these issues, Zachary had likely already thought of them as well.

"I feel like I'm showing off in front of a business mogul like you."

Natasha couldn't help but laugh at her own words as she turned to look at

Zachary. That was close. If she had turned around earlier, she might have caught him staring at her.

Zachary quickly averted his gaze, looking around at the area. It was a place Natasha used to frequent back in the day.

They walked silently down the street. Natasha wasn't sure what to say, but to her surprise, Zachary was the one to ask, "So, you and Xavier know each other?"

"Yeah, he's a funny guy. Once, he mixed up the data I needed for an experiment..." Natasha started, her eyes lighting up as she recalled an old memory.

After walking for a while, Natasha shared more funny stories from her experiments, but Zachary stayed silent, his expression unreadable.

Finally, Natasha couldn't help but ask, "Do CEOs like you ever smile, or are you just holding it in?"

Zachary didn't respond. Feeling a bit awkward, Natasha shrugged it off.

When they reached the car, Zachary finally spoke up. "Get in. I'll drive you home."

"No need, Mr. Foster. If you still feel indebted because of Matthew, you really don't have to. After all, I did ask you for help with something, so we're even."

She smiled at him briefly and turned to head toward the subway entrance.

The person who saved her seven years ago was still a mystery. There were no clues yet, and even her intuition needed evidence to back it up.

She had been wrong for seven years. She didn't want to keep making mistakes in the years to come.

She kept reminding herself to be cautious.

By the time Natasha returned home, it was already midnight. Suddenly, she remembered the woman who had injured her eye earlier and immediately called Elvira.

"What woman? Nothing in my office was broken, and there's no one injured here," Elvira answered.

Standing in front of a lab bench, she was wearing protective goggles and a white lab coat.

Natasha asked, "Isn't your office at—"
