The Lna 308
Xena's POV
The familiar scent of disinfectant hit my nostrils before I even opened my eyes. I stared up at the white ceiling tiles. A heavy sigh escaped my lips.
"When will I ever get to avoid this place?" I murmured to myself, my voice hoarse and barely above a whisper.
"Babe, everything should be over now."
Ryder's gentle voice cut through my melancholy thoughts. I turned my head slowly, wincing slightly at the dull ache that followed the movement. His green eyes met mine - those beautiful, mesmerizing green eyes that had captured my heart from the very beginning. Even now, after everything we'd been through, they still took my breath away.
"Tell me what happened," I said. "I need to know everything,"
His expression shifted, the tenderness replaced by something darker, more serious. The muscles in his jaw tightened as he prepared to speak words I could tell he didn't want to say.
"I killed him," he said simply, his voice devoid of emotion. "I killed Helen. The warriors who betrayed us are all locked in the cells."
The words hit me like a physical blow. I tried to sit up. I needed to hold him, to tell him it would be okay, but the world tilted dangerously and my head spun.
"Stay down," Ryder commanded gently, his hands pressing against my shoulders. "You have a mild
concussion. You need to rest."
I settled back against the pillows, frustration bubbling up inside me. "When will my wolf come back?"
"Twelve hours," he replied, some of the tension leaving his features. "The drug was diluted this time. You should be back to normal by noon."
I nodded, relief washing over me. "What about Martha?"
"Logan is planning a public execution. Do you want to attend?"
I shook my head immediately. "No./I don't want to be there." The thought of watching another death, even Martha's, made my stomach turn. Let the past stay in the past, I thought to myself.
Ryder must have seen something in my expression because his features softened. He reached out and gently stroked my hair, his touch immediately soothing my frayed nerves.
"It's all over now," he said softly, and I could hear the promise in his voice. Chapter 308
Was the meeting postponed?' I asked.
"Yes, it's at three this afternoon. I'll bring you with me." He gave me a small smile, and I couldn't help but return it.
"I want to go back to our room to rest," I said. The sterile hospital environment
was starting to make me feel claustrophobic.
Ryder nodded and reached out through the mind link. I could sense him communicating with the medical staff, arranging for my discharge. "Do you want to change clothes first?"
"No, this is fine." The hospital gown would do for now. I just wanted to get out of here.
Ryder helped me to my feet, his strong arm supporting most of my weight. My legs felt shaky, but I was determined to walk out of here on my own two feet. He guided me to the golf cart waiting outside, and I gratefully sank into the passenger seat, immediately leaning against his solid shoulder.
As we drove through the pack grounds, I noticed new faces among the familiar ones. Fresh recruits were helping with the reconstruction efforts. The sight filled me with hope.
We pulled up to the Pack house, and Ryder helped me out of the cart. The walk to our room felt longer than usual, but I was touched by how many people stopped to greet us. Both new members and old pack members offered warm smiles and respectful nods. Deep in my heart, I felt a sense of satisfaction and responsibility. Once we reached our room, I headed straight for the bathroom. The hot water felt amazing against my skin, washing away the hospital smell and the lingering traces of exhaustion. I took my time, letting the steam envelop me and clear my head.
Ryder was starting his own shower after me. I walked slowly to the bedroom. I grabbed my phone from the nightstand and set an alarm for 2:00 PM. We had plenty of time before the meeting.
Feeling mischievous despite my condition, I decided not to bother with clothes. I slipped naked under the covers and pulled them up to my neck, hiding my body completely. A small smile played at my lips as I anticipated Ryder's reaction.
When he finished his shower and entered the bedroom, his hair still damp and a towel wrapped around hisnoveldrama
waist.
"How do you think Tansy and Jericho will adapt?" I asked.
"I think Tansy will adapt well,” he replied thoughtfully, pulling off his towel. "Jericho will probably need an adjustment or two."
He slipped under the covers beside me, and immediately his hand found my hip, his warm palm against my bare skin as he scooted closer. A knowing smile crossed his features. "Hmm, no clothes?"
I wiggled closer to him so I was pressed tightly against him. His hand moved to my ass and squeezed it
tightly. "Nope. I didn't think they were needed,"
A deep growl vibrated his chest as he rolled me to my back. Rolling with me, he
got on top and pressed his lips against mine. "Not too sore from that night?" Ryder whispered in my ear.
"Nope. I think you need to try again." My claws scrapped down his back as he moved down my body.
"Is that so?" His lips sucked hard on my sensitive spot under my breast. Making my back arch. Threading my fingers through his hair, I pushed his head lower. "I see you are impatient now."
"Fuck me, Alpha."
Ryder's eyes met mine as they flashed black. He didn't even have to push my legs open as I spread them wider for him. My head snapped back as his tongue licked my clit before sucking hard and shoving three fingers in. I felt my juices run out of me as he worked me. I wasn't prepared for him to pull his fingers out and gently insert into my ass. Sucking hard on my clit, he matched his movements until he was fully in my
ass.
