Ann's lunch box tumbled to the floor with a loud clatter, leaving everyone in the room momentarily stunned. The Shaw family members wore expressions that were a mix of shock and confusion. Isaac, clearly flustered, even slapped his own mouth in disbelief. Neil had told him to keep his cool and hold off on discussing anything until Chloe was out of the hospital and things had calmed down. But in the heat of the moment, he just couldn't keep quiet.

The room was drenched in an awkward silence. Leah, standing at the door, was just as taken aback. Could Chloe really be the Shaw family's biological daughter? Overwhelmed, she couldn't find the words to say, so she just bent down and started picking up the spilled food.

Ruby, who had risen and walked to the door, looked at Ann with an apologetic gaze. "About this whole thing..." she began.
