Chapter 14 Marvin, I’m Having A Fever
Chapter 14 Marvin, I’m Having A Fever
Elizabeth turned to glare at him. Robert raised his hand again before she said something more
humiliating. Totally pinned on his laps without a chance to escape, Elizabeth had to shut her eyes
tightly in fear. How much she looked like a scared kitten emitting a coquettish aura! Robert couldn’t
help but smile, finding himself attracted by this pitiful girl.
How come nothing happened? Elizabeth opened her eyes in confusion. Suddenly, Robert, with an evil
smile, pinched her hips. Elizabeth grimaced in pain while he laughed more and more wildly.
"Your mother entrusted me with you when she was badly ill. Though not a sage, I will never break my
words."
Elizabeth elbowed him while shouting, "I know you have been coveting me! How foolish my mum is to
entrust me to you!"
Robert removed his hands smilingly, his tone meaningful enough. "You don’t have a say in our
relationship. Behave yourself and I will naturally treat you well and even regard you as my daughter. If
you insisted on going against me..."
Elizabeth retorted coldly regardless of his threat, "Who wants to be your daughter? Do you really think
you’re my father?"
Though slightly unhappy, Robert happened to sense a tinge of romance in her words.
He produced a smile that made his face more handsome.
"Though not your biological father, I can make you call me dad in bed with my excellent sexual skills."
Elizabeth, badly blushing, gnawed at his lab furiously with great force. She applied so much strength
that her teeth even began aching, only to find that Robert, instead of being angry, worked a meaningful
smile onto his handsome face. Elizabeth struggled to sit up.
Robert reached out to stroke her chin while saying word by word, "It turned out that you aren’t afraid of
me at all. There is no way for you to do that to Marvin, right? Marvin won’t love a girl truly. Even if he This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.
would, you would never win his heart. Why not date me then? Is it so hard to leave him?"
Elizabeth tried hard to avoid his sharp gaze as if he could see through her at a glance. She whispered
under her breath, trying not to meet his eyes, "You know nothing about what happened between us."
Robert did not retort but lifted her cuff with his fingers.
There was a vague red mark on her wrist, solid proof of how Marvin abused her by binding her hands
with his tie.
Elizabeth withdrew her hand, her face crimson.
Robert said word for word, "How come you don’t escape even if being harshly tortured? Do you love
him that much?"
With her innermost secret being revealed, Elizabeth turned to look outside the window with
embarrassment in silence.
...
Robert sent her to the intersection nearby the Bennett family. Elizabeth got out of the car but did not go
home. She instinctively intended to escape from there.
She had to watch her behaviors since childhood and tried hard to fit in. Although Mr. Bennett treated
her well, it was impossible for her to regard him, more than ten years older than her mother, as her real
father.
Elizabeth was timid and self-protective, not daring to show her true colors. Yet, everything had changed
since she met Marvin. She began relying on him and regarding him as her elder brother, friend, and the
most important man in her life.
She wanted to stay by Marvin’s side for good and the Bennett family was her only home since then. Yet
now, Ann was about to be his wife.
...
Elizabeth arrived in the villa at eight o’clock. It was not too late, but Marvin’s face was livid.
"Where did you go?"
She replied in a low voice, "Went to the hospital to visit my mother."
Marvin sneered, his tone icy, "You usually leave the hospital at five o’clock. How come you came back
this late today? You dared to lie to me, huh?"
Elizabeth had gotten fed up with his bossiness. "Believe it or not, I’m tired and go to my room first."
Rather than rushing up to grab her, Marvin suddenly threatened as she stepped onto the stairs. "I can
make Aileen vanish into thin air. Do you believe it?"
Elizabeth froze.
She finally spoke after a long period without turning, "Of course I do. I said a year ago that if you hurt
my mom, I would kill myself by jumping off a building in front of you so that you would never forget my
tragic death."
...
Though submissive, Elizabeth was always stubborn. To give a full vent to her anger, she not only
refused to talk to Marvin for a week but locked the door to her room as soon as she went inside in case
Marvin would harass her.
One night, Elizabeth felt she was having a fever. She lifted the thin blanket up, finding herself soaked
with sweat. She got up to drink some water, but her legs were too weak to carry her body.
Badly tortured by the fire burning within her, Elizabeth pushed open the door and shouted in low voice,
"Mrs. Brown..."
Suddenly, she was pushed back by someone strong. Marvin stroked her burning cheeks with an evil
smile. Having no time to care about their quarrels, Elizabeth held his waist in a hurry, "Marvin, I’m
seemingly having a fever."
