Dirty Little Secret

Chapter 43

Unice’s PoV

After a while, we arrived at Zoey’s address, and it took us 2 hours because it was far from Ace’s house, plus traffic. Fortunately, his big bike was fast, and I removed my helmet after getting off Tom’s motorcycle.

I saw Zoey come out of the house holding a trash can, taking out the trash, and she was surprised to see me.

“Is that your friend?” I motioned for silence, and Zoey dropped the trash can as she ran toward me.

“Unice! What have you been up to? I’m very concerned about you!” Zoey hugged me right away, and I just let her.

“I apologize for declining all of your calls, but I assure you I am fine; I had to because I don’t want you to be concerned and I believe it is time to tell you the truth.” I told Zoey. She let go of my hug and looked at Tom, who had parked his big bike.

“Is this your new boyfriend? Is that why you didn’t call?” I shook my head in response to Zoey’s question.

“Never! Everything will be explained to you! “You should change your clothes because we’re going somewhere quiet, just the two of us,” I told her. This belongs © NôvelDra/ma.Org.

“Okay, please wait for me here. Wear your helmet for now because my family is concerned about you, and they may see you,” Zoey said, and I nodded. Tom then handed me the helmet, which I wore again.

“You have a lovely friend. Is she single?” Tom inquired, and I looked at him.

“Don’t even try to flirt with her; she’s my only friend! I don’t want her to end up like me in this dangerous world.” I just heard him laugh as I said this to him.

I removed my helmet after waiting for Zoey and saw her wearing denim jeans with denim blue long sleeves and sneakers.

“Are you okay with us going to a café?” Zoey inquired.

“I’ll just follow you and take a taxi here,” Tom said, lending me some money.

“Thank you, Tom,” I said, and we’re now waiting for a taxi.

A taxi suddenly stopped in front of us, and I went inside first, followed by Zoey. We told the taxi driver where we were going, and the taxi driver began to drive, and I noticed Tom following us from behind.

“Do you have the same phone number? So that I can add you to my phone,” Zoey said, and I grabbed my phone.

“I have a new phone number; here it is.” I show her my phone, and she looks at my phone number, which she then saves on her phone.

“Trust me, because I’m your best friend. You’ll tell me everything.” I smiled as Zoey said.

We arrived at Toa Café, and I paid for the taxi. Zoey and I both left. I noticed Tom had come after parking his giant bike, so we entered the café, and I looked over the menu.

“I think I’ll have a cappuccino and their muffin,” I said as Zoey considered her options.

“Since we’re just going to talk, I’ll order the same.” I nodded and told the cashier lady my order, and she gave me the receipt.

“Write your name here, ma’am,” the cashier lady instructed, and I nodded, writing a different name, Tom.

I looked at Tom outside, and he was not coming in, so I went to where Zoey sat and sat while we waited for our order.

“Let’s wait for our order first,” I said, and she nodded while looking at her phone; I looked outside and saw Tom doing the same.

When the cashier said Tom’s name, Zoey was surprised, and I smiled. I stood up from my seat and picked up our orders, and when I returned to my seat, I gave Zoey the muffin and cappuccino she had ordered.

I’ll start with how I met my new boyfriend; I admit I have a new one, but he’s dangerous to everyone, “I explained to Zoey, who is now eating the muffin.

“His name is Ace Shelton, and he is a murderer,” I said softly, almost dropping the muffin Zoey was holding.

“What?! Are you insane? Are you serious about what you just said to me?” She was stunned, and I looked around, thankful they were uninterested in our conversation.

“Lower your voice! Before I tell you everything, promise me that you will accept the risk.” Zoey was taken aback when I said this.

“Risk? Will he kill me if I find out about your new boyfriend? Is that why you’ve got that guy outside? Is he watching over us?” Zoey inquired.

“His name is Tom Eandar, and he’s a nice guy. He’s one of Ace’s men who can be trusted. So you are correct; he is protecting me and you,” I said, and she simply nodded.

“Okay, keep telling your story about how crazy this is, you know?” Zoey said as I took a sip.

“I thought no one was living in the new house when I arrived, but it was just baited; I had no idea I would fall for someone like him. I know he’s terrible, but he has a reason for murdering,” I said to Zoey, and she touched my hand.

“Ace is obsessed with me now, and we’ve had sex many times; if I don’t take birth control pills, I might get pregnant,” I said to her, eating a muffin while listening.

“Is he good?” When Zoey asked, I was taken aback.

“Yes, he’s good, and I think he has experience because he watches porn,” I said, making Zoey laugh as I sipped my cappuccino.

“You’re a lucky girl because you now have someone to look after you! Is he wealthy? How does the house appear?” Zoey inquired.

He’s murdering to avenge his family because they were murdered by his uncle when he was a kid, and we’re not sure if they did it,” I explained.

“I get the feeling you’re in a movie. Is Ace employed?” Zoey was curious.

“When I met him, he didn’t have a job, just a gang of men who would help him avenge his family, but as time passed, he was slowly changing because of me,” I told Zoey as she finished her muffin.

“Because you are my friend, I accept the risk now that I am aware of it.” I’m not going to expose the truth, and I’m not going to tell my parents either,” I smiled as Zoey said.

“Thank you. Ace is an only child, so he has a lot of money and can do whatever he wants. He has a job now, which is to buy a company for himself, and he has already hired anyone who wants to apply. “He wants to start a toy company,” I explained, and Zoey nodded as I finished my cappuccino.

“Look who’s speaking to Tom; do you know who he is?” Zoey asked, and I was surprised to see Edward.

“How did he know I was here?” I panicked when I felt Zoey touch my hand, and we dashed away.

When we got outside, Edward and I exchanged glances, but I continued running with Zoey.

“Are you running away?” I heard Edward say this and saw his men stop us while Zoey still held my hand.

“This risk is difficult, but I want you to be safe, Unice,” Zoey said, and when we turned around, Tom was unable to move, and I was at a loss for what to do.

“What do you need? Don’t you get sick of doing this? Do you want me to shout here that you’re-” Someone covers my mouth, and I bite his men’s hands.

“I want to talk to you; I won’t hurt you. Pay attention to what I say; this is not the place to converse.” I fixed my gaze on Edward.

“I’m not going to listen to your nonsense!” I told him that someone was already holding me and Zoey was being held by someone else.

“Are you sure you don’t want to know more about Ace’s other secret?” Edward asked, and I laughed.

“You just made it up with your imagination, old man,” I told him, and I showed him that I wasn’t scared because I noticed some people were worried about us.

“Do you want to be reported to the police right now?” I asked him, and when he looked around, he noticed that people were filming us, so he let go of Zoey and me.

“Be careful when you go out again; I’ll be keeping an eye on you,” Edward said as he went inside the car, and I kicked the door on his car.

“I don’t mind! You can do whatever you want! I’ve got Ace! I have someone who will look after me!” I told him as the car drove away.

My heart was racing so fast that Zoey hugged me, and I knew she knew I was panicking.

“Unice, I know you’re scared and weak, but you gave it your all!” Zoey spoke up, and Tom approached us.

“We need to go to the boss’s company, and you need to tell him what happened to be safe,” Tom suggested, and I shook my head.

“Don’t tell him. He’ll be furious if he finds out I’m about to get hurt,” I told Tom, who looked surprised.

“But-” When I interrupted, Tom came to a halt.

“Could you please just do what I said?” I begged him, and all he did was nod.

“All right, Miss Unice, I’m not going to tell him either,” Tom said, and I looked at Zoey to see if she was okay.

“I’m sorry if you got involved; I believe you should go home now; do you want me to take you home?” I inquired of her.

“I’ll call my other friend so we can go somewhere safe first; I know they’re still here, Unice. You need to keep an eye on them as well,” Zoey said, and I nodded.
