Chap 63
Fallen
Jessica arrived at the Ricardo residence. Lexi was going to be furious not without reason. Upon arrival at the orphanage Mrs. Anna was no longer there. When she left, she also did not ask permission from his mother-in-law.
She knew Lexi wouldn’t let her out of the house this time.
“Do I need to take you inside?” Chelsea was bargaining. She did not know if the problem would be like this because it turned out that Mrs. Anna had come home first.
“No,” Jessica said. A faint smile lingered on his lips.
“You sure?” From the expression on her face, she could feel that now Jessica was not okay.
“Yes, I’m sure,” Jessica reassured herself that Lexi wouldn’t be upset. Hopefully!
“All right, I’m home now,” Chelsea said, turning on the motorcycle engine and starting to walk away from the Ricardo family residence.
“Miss,” a security guard, who opened the gate for Jessica, greeted.
She nodded and continued to walk. Arriving at the terrace Jessica paused at the door. Back to convincing herself, all will be well but Lexi was unlikely to scold her. With her right hand, Jessica opened the door and entered the house.
Her sense of sight saw the watch. It was already shown at almost five o’clock in the afternoon. As it turned out, she was gone a long time ago. It was only natural that Mrs. Anna went home first.Text © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
Jessica continued to move her feet. In the living room, but in the living room there was no one. Then, she chose to continue to her room which was near the back garden. The husband’s car was already in the garage, which meant that Lexi had arrived home. If it wasn’t in the living room, it would have been waiting for him in the room.
Jessica stopped at the door. Her heart was pounding faster. She just wanted to open the door.
The door opened from the inside and now Lexi was standing in front of her with a look that was difficult to interpret.
“Where have you been!” Lexi snapped in a loud voice. If the maid was in the kitchen, she must have heard it too.
“I- I went with Chelsea.” Jessica looked down because she couldn’t return Lexi’s gaze.
Lexi quickly pulled Jessica’s hand to go inside.
Jessica was getting down. Sure, if Lexi would tear him to pieces.
However, he was not angry nor locked her in the bathroom. Lexi grabbed her in an embrace, very long, and deep.
Jessica wondered. She only returned the embrace of the husband who was getting tighter.
For a long time, Lexi was in a trance and not just ended it. Lexi hugged him again.
“I just met a strange person,” Jessica said quietly. “He has a picture of me when I was six. I don’t know if I trust anyone easily. After all, it could have been just an edited photo,” she added.
Quiet.
Lexi stared at his wife. Jessica was in front of him. He also held Jessica’s hand. However, the worry was still there. He was afraid Jessica would leave.
“Don’t leave the house. Don’t see anyone again. I beg you,” Lexi pleaded earnestly.
“Yes, I will not leave the house,” Jessica said, cupping her husband’s cheek with both hands. He could feel the worry there. “Sorry!”
“Sorry? Sorry for what?” Lexi asked, leading the wife to sit on the edge of the bed.
“I’m sorry I left without permission. It’s not Chelsea’s fault.” Jessica didn’t want anything to happen to Chelsea’s father who works at Lexi’s company.
“I forgive you, as long as you promise not to do it again, Jess! I don’t like it. You know, after mom called and said you weren’t at the orphanage, I came looking for you! Don’t go again, okay?” Lexi asked with pity. “Promise?”
“Promise!” This time it was Jessica who immediately hugged Lexi. “I will not leave, as long as you still love me!” Jessica said softly.
“I will always love you!” Lexi replied.

In the morning.
“Hoek-hoek -.”
Lexi heard a voice coming from the bathroom.
“Jess, are you okay?” Lexi asked as he knocked on the bathroom door.
“Jessica!” he shouted.
(sounds of door opened)
The bathroom door was open. Jessica with a pale face.
“You got sick?” Lexi asked, leading Jessica into bed.
Jessica nodded slowly.
“I called the Doctor Sham now!” Lexi said, grabbing his phone on the desk.
“No, just come here!” Jessica, who is currently lying on the bed, said.
“What did you eat yesterday?” Lexi asked.
“No, maybe because yesterday it rained when I went to Chelsea!”
“I’ll call the maid!” Lexi immediately left the room and called the maid.
Not long after, the maid arrived.
“What happened, miss?” the maid said. She took a look at Jessica.
“I think I caught a cold.”
“Wait a minute, maybe get some eucalyptus oil first.” The middle-aged woman went back out of the room to get eucalyptus oil.
While Lexi, still sitting on the edge of the bed and trying to call his secretary.
“Hello,” Arsene said on the other side of the phone.
“Hello, can I work off today? Jessica is getting sick, I can’t come to the office!” Lexi asked.
“Sir, this morning you must come to see Mr. Chandra from the King’s Hotel. Yesterday you postponed the meeting. There’s no way you’re putting it off anymore. It is possible that Mr. Chandra will cancel the cooperation that has been agreed,” Arsene said.
“Can we postpone it for tomorrow?” Lexi whined like a child. Looking at Jessica’s face, he felt very worried, not usually in the morning the wife drooped helplessly on the bed.
“It can’t be, Mr. Lexi!”
Lexi looked at Jessica. The woman shook her head as a sign that he didn’t need to postpone his schedule anymore.
“What time do I have to go to Mr. Chandra?”
“It’s eight o’clock this morning, Sir!” Arsene said.
“Ok!” Lexi ended the phone call.
“I just have a common cold, later if you rub eucalyptus oil, it will be better!” Jessica looked up at Lexi.
“Hah!” Lexi snorted. Yesterday he shouldnt postpone the meeting with Mr. Chandra yesterday.
“I’m fine!” Jessica reassured me.
“All right,” said Lexi reluctantly as she went to the bathroom.
Not long after, the maid arrived. She brought eucalyptus oil and warm tea. According to Jessica’s direction, she began to sprinkle eucalyptus oil on the woman’s back.
“Thank You!”
“You’re welcome, drink the tea please,” the maid said.
“Okay.”
Jessica sipped warm tea and then returned to laying her body.
When Lexi came out of the bathroom, he found Jessica asleep. Because he did not want to disturb his wife who was resting, Lexi went to work without waking up Jessica.
At noon.
Jessica woke up, feeling a little better. Her head didn’t feel dizzy, and she didn’t feel sick anymore. She was. feeling bored in the room, Jessica moved towards the kitchen. She heard two people talking in the dining room. The two people were Cassandra and Mrs. Anna.
“There’s anything I will ask you, Auntie,” Cassandra, who originally discussed Fashion, was turning the conversation to personal matters.
“Just ask,” Mrs. Anna said while she focused on the Fashion magazine, which is still in her hands.
“This is about Lexi, is it true that he only pretended to love Jessica just for the sake of getting offspring?” Cassandra, who currently still couldn’t give up her dream of becoming the son-in-law of the Ricardo family, asked.
Jessica listened to the question. She couldn’t hear Mrs. Anna’s voice. She slowly continued to push the soles of his feet back into the room.
“Is Mr. Lexi just pretending to love me?” Jessica muttered with tears in her eyes.
